AIM
Two teams of up to 7 cars must try to score more goals than the opposition. The venue is the Top Gear Test Track. The goals are at each end of the long straight (runway). A goal is scored when the "ball" makes contact with the goal at each end. The pitch is the whole track. If the "ball" is kicked onto the grass or around a corner it remains in play.
UNITED REDS will defend the "Hammerhead End"
CITY BLUES will defend "Bacharach Corner" (the second to last corner)
KICK OFF
Game will start as a race on the grid. The referee will check each players tyres for sharp objects and then the teams will parade in front of the fans around to the straight WHERE EACH TEAM LINE UP AGAINST THEIR RESPECTIVE GOAL LINES. The BALL and Referee will start in the centre of the straight. The ball will engage the handbrake and nervously type "GO". The ball will release it's handbrake after typing. After that it's down to the teams to put on a show.
TEAMS
Teams, as mentioned, can have up to 7 players. All players can play all over the pitch. Some teams may choose to employ fancy European style tactics (goalkeepers) but it is not obligatory. Both teams must use the same car the Aston Martin DB9 Coupe '06. At 1710kg it should have a strong shot and even stronger shoulder barge.
BALL
The ball, will be a white Fiat 500 F '68 which can be found in the Recommended garage. The player who is the 'ball' is not allowed to move to help either team. The handbrake must be disengaged. When a goal is scored they need to drive to the middle of the straight for the game to kick off again.
REFEREE - OPTIONAL!
If someone wants to be the ref, they will be driving a Pagani Zonda R. The referee will keep the score and keep up with play to ensure fair play all round and decide when a kick off is necessary. It may become necessary if the ball becomes trapped in an area of the pitch. The ref will also be the time keeper.
FOULS/FREE KICKS
There aren't any
HALF TIME
At half time (when someone notices 30 minutes on the clock) the teams will swap ends and restart with another kick off.
PENALTIES
There will be a penalty shoot out at the end of the 60 minutes to determine the final score. Players will gather at the Hammerhead End and teams will take it in turn to try and score with the fiat against one designated goalkeeper for each team. The penalty taker may take an unlimited "run up". This will be organised by BALL/REFEREE
WINNERS/LOSERS (football cliche)
At the end of the day the team that scores the most goals wins the game!
