GTP_WRS-Online : Academy/D-League Racing - Suspended Until GT7

Great race today! Well done mj!!! I hope you didn't mind the bump drafting Jammy! We had to try and catch mj somehow! Thanks Sjaak for hosting and to Mohit for the instructional laps!

Sorry Skillz, did you try to re-join us?

Al

Was indeed fun 👍!
I had many good battles, - especially with Stef. Had I taken the outside, at last, who know what could have happened :embarrassed:?

Once again, thanks for the car, Gayle, and congratulations to Majed .

See you all next week :gtpflag:!

It is good to see many rookies have made so much progress.👍
We see it in track behaviour, less incidents and more racing.

It is nice to give a format where racers can gain experience and confidence.

Thanks to Mohit for the demo lap and the personal advices.:)

See you all next week.

Yeah i was fun to try to catch mj but some how i did lost my rythm and start to hitting the wall. I didn't have time to practice this compo before tonight and i did quite well but didn't have that what is it take to make constant fast laps.
Good racing though. Was fun to race with all you again.

Wish I could have stayed clean and not got magnowalld and then when I could see the tail end again after about half of the race was over I over played the track for a second time and got wadded up again :( it sure was fun while it lasted. 👍

Something tells me that my fast time was faster then what you show, on my end I recall that my two fastest laps were like my last two laps and one of them was like a 109.2x but I swear I saw it, not the 109.88 but I know that I saw blue on like my last two lap times :dunce:

I saved a replay, just watched it to see where I mucked up. While I was at it I checked your times. You are correct, you had 1'09.294 as best lap , wasn't your cleanest lap but was your fastest.

Thanks guys, Really enjoyed battling Jammy for the lead in the first few laps, he defends his position quite well.

Great race 👍

My view coming around the blind corner, full-throttle into the last turn of Lap 4:

Jacked my engine and tweaked my front tires so much, I could only muster 62mph around the last turn. I named the pic "Unfortunate Surprise." :)

Sorry about that there Crispy that unfortunately I think is me if you are the car getting ready to T-bone the car that is almost ready to take off. I knew there was a car back there and almost got the F out of there and then "Kaaa Boom" I figured that we were both toast soooooo "my bad" You got some huge respect for future w/ me, it's in the bank and I'll make sure that if we get near each other in the future and your coming on or if I'm flying up on you I'll be giving big room. 👍

Thankz Remo 👍

As for running A.R. it's going to be a challenge just getting everything functioning as I'm going to a remote location to run the race, it's a work project on my friends roof. I have to do an online test between now and then to make sure that his connection is seamless and low ping (fingers crossed) but count me in for this one 👍

Yah it looks like Speedy is looking for more victims for the Wednesday night head holder  Man when that stuff is turned on I might as well be driving on ice :banghead:

Note that in cases where a T-bone is imminent the driver stuck sideways may sometimes want to consider ghosting -- especially if a pack is approaching. It's tough to do without actually practicing it, but if you come to a complete stop and hit start, you go to ghost mode, and you can proceed once the other driver passes through you. Not ideal and not realistic, but in a jam it's something to consider.

If you're not complete stop ghost start driving your car. This is good thing to practice, very usefull in race when pack is close.

 Yup youz guyz are correct 👍 that trick reminds me of the whole card you had to have in riding moto-x, we always would use the kill button trick to stop the scooter when the throttle would stick wide open as the only way to stop the "hospital invite freight train" impending carrier ender. I'll have to practice the "stuffed and parked ghost courtesy" the next time I get the crazy idea of entering another city course race. Thankzzzz

Yah, we all practiced the ghost trick for the F1 race @ Monaco... you can just imagine the carnage if you are turned around backwards in the middle of the hairpin in an F1 car.

No worries, Lefty. I'm still pretty slow either way :P Just thought it was a photo-worthy event. :) BTW, I've been practicing everything you showed me on Autumn Ring after the race. I've gotten my fastest lap down 2 secs and my average lap is hovering about 0.5 sec behind. I'm starting to get a feel for the wig-wag-wig. Thanks! 👍

Brilliant idea! I will indeed practice that as I suspect I'll find myself in that situation eventually.👍

I would love to join you in Nissan Silvia Spec-R Aero (S15) RM '02 @ Autumn Ring Reverse but i'll have other race in same time. Might still drop in lounge after my race is finished.

If anybody still need a broken in car,ad me to your friendslist and I send one.

I don't think I'll be able to break it in, so if you haven't already sent the car Sjaak, I would like it 👍.

Are you a warlock, or are you just good at predicting the future, Sjaak ? Anyway, thanks !

So I have a question going into the first turn of the third sector of A.R. reversed. I've been practicing by chasing Al's ghost (Thanks for posting Al! 👍) and he's taught me a lot about track position. I'm averaging about a half second behind at T1 and 1-1.5 seconds behind by T2, a marked improvement from my times early in the week. But I lose all momemtum in that first T3 turn, losing at least another full second. :ouch:

I think I've worked out a decent line through the S curves after that turn, but can someone describe the theory for getting through that first T3 turn quickly?
