Wii U Latest News and Discussion

True, but I haven't invested in the Wii U's future yet. Its launch date flew by without me noticing, and I'm currently on the fence. Nintendo hasn't even convinced me that their games will be worth the console.

Considering my history with the brand, that's kind of a red flag in itself.
 
I haven't had too much faith in Nintendo since the SNES days, when they were leading the way.

The N64 penalised us with high game prices due to the cartridges...but still I bought
The Gamecube didn't play DVDs and the software line up was patchy....but still I bought (twice, once for Star Wars and once for RE remake)
The Wii has the biggest amount of shovelware ever....but still I bought (girlfriend said she'd use Wii Fit etc.)

This I will not buy, as there really isn't any point at all with me owning a PS3, PC and 360. I just can't believe that Nintendo released it with no decent 1st party games at launch or soon after. By the time they do people will be saving their money for the real next gen stuff.

Good job the 3DS took off......

Well I'm getting a WiiU tomorrow. A guy is selling one for $150 so I figure I can't go wrong. I'm actually excited. The first party titles look amazing (DK, Mario 3D, etc), plus project cars is coming to the wiiu and it seems they are really trying to make a good game for nintendo and not just give them a watered down version. Give it until spring of next year and see where this console is before declaring it dead. That tablet would make an excellent speedo/tach or rearview mirror......if they could just get a wheel for it
 


Hideki Kamiya concerned over Wonderful 101's Limited marketing.

Apparently there has been little marketing or awareness - Nintendo hasn't provided much in the way of gameplay video or assets - and as a result Kamiya is concerned over the potential success of the game.

Kamiya added that The Wonderful 101 has cost the developer 1.5 times that of Bayonetta - which was concidered a commercial failure despite its critical praise.

Kamiya added that The Wonderful 101 is similar to Okami in that no one understands it and as such has very little hype surrounding the game.

Unfortunate, but if PG's past is anything to go by, Bayonetta 2 may (and as of right now, with such limited info and press on Bayonetta 2....will) suffer the same fate.

Originally Pikmin 3 and Wii Fit U were meant to be part of the lineup that was coming out between January and March. Last year I did not mean for them to be completed around this time, but we had a lot of trouble with the shaders in HD. Now that we’re used to them, we should do better in the future.

At the same time, hardware development was delayed. Because of that delay, the whole development environment was delayed, which also impacted the production of the games. When you produce a game, the process should not be influenced this much by the hardware, but this concurrency of problems affected the games’ progress a lot.

Not you again Olimar... I've always had problems against them in Brawl, could never tell when they do their A-tilt attacks.

I hope Ice Climbers will make a return. *gulp*
 
It's sad that again, I'll be suckered into getting a Wii U next year just for a handful of first party titles, and maybe 1 or 2 third party games.

But I really want Nintendo to get it together.
 
Monster Hunter Frontier G for Wii U and PS3......so far, JP only.....

Wish Capcom put in half the effort outside of JP for this series as they do Street Fighter (without their DLC shenanigans).
 
^The costs of the servers are not cheap besides that, Capcom had to translate the game.
Neither MH Frontier G nor MH Online won't come to the West.
