Phish, while your hope that dabney has a better time here is commendable, it is entirely misplaced. dabney is philosphically, religously and categorically against fantasy tracks, and Cape Ring probably tops his list of tracks to hate on. ;) I have no idea why really, but he is. ;) @ dabney.

Sorry I got caught up in something at work but was trying to warn you about the torches and pitchforks :)

I wonder how the big loop will be with this car understeering so bad. The turn after the jump will probably be a challenge too. Should be good fun.

Actually. On the loop, it doesn't understeer at all. Like I almost went full throttle through the loop, just let off the loop a couple times and you will be fine.

Dragonwhisky- ah, see I had no idea about that as well. I apologize to dabneyd. (I think I spelled ur name wrong, my bad)

Any of you snails involved in project management? My god! thats all I can say. I mean, all that I can say that won't get me banned.

Well looks like something bad happend in the past at cape ring. I personally love cape ring. I think this will be a little better for you dabneyd!

I am pretty sure I landed on someone on that track before, literally, right on them...

My wife just passed the project management exam. She was so stressed the morning of the test she made herself sick.

I was thinking about Eiger Nordwand Short Track for my track pick, but since we already have one airborne track this week, maybe I will go with Trial Mountain... hmmmmm... It is probably easier to pass at Trial Mountain as well. Decisions, decisions...

Just a reminder that today is the Open-Wheel Shootout.

JULY 30TH 9PM Eastern, 2013 Line Up:

Car: Ferrari F2007 ( 878 PP, 821HP, Race Medium Tires)

Track 1: Nurburgring GP/F ( 10 Laps)
Track 2: Suzuka ( 10 Laps)
Track 3: Monza (11 Laps)

I have reviewed all incidents for the week in the stewards area. Other stewards, please do the same so we can get this week finished quickly.

Prize B has been announced, so now we're just waiting on the second half of your Prize A. Please hurry up and take your time! :sly: (JK but making the pick by early this evening would be appreciated 👍)

REMINDER: Everyone please buy the '74 Lamborghini Countach LP400 before the OCD refreshes on Wednesday night!

i honestly gave you the bump assuming i wasnt going to gain anything. i got lucky and got some draft. :cheers:

you made some great passes in the kink counting the one you put on me. great race!

LOL I wasn't to happy with the two car draft on my left. But that's racing and I would of done the same thing 👍. Hope I didn't ruffle any ones feathers. It was my first sunday race with you guys and I was alittle nervous. In my opinion it was pretty good racing in D3

Hey ONESPACE, cool to see you in SNAIL. You always kick my butt in open lobbies, so I fully expect you to be in D2 soon :)

The last time we had a run of fantasy tracks, I dropped from D1 all the way to D3. So that's part of it.

Well dabney, get down on those fantasy tracks and start lovin' on 'em. and mebbe they won't treat ya so bad. ;)

Seriously though, hate, or extreme dislike or whatever you want to call it, is such a negative emotion that it can't do anything but hurt your interaction with whatever it is you're hatin' on.

I reckon you could always get some Jamacian relaxation going and then drive?

You rock dude! I'm at work and figured I'd try logging into sugarsync to get a look at which replays have been uploaded, thought my work might block it, but was able to load and log in but I'm not seeing in files.

Trial Mountain for Prize A Track pick. I really wanted to do Eiger Norwand Short Track, but I figured another airborne track wouldn't be good, and it is a bit easier to pass at Trail Mountain. That Lambo sure is fun at Eiger though...

Hate is a good motivator, plus it's the emotion I have in any quantity these days.

A small aside to the stewards and video uploaders;

DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING FROM THE SUGARSYNC SHARE. EVER.

If the share runs out of space, contact me. If you are tired of looking at all the files in your divisions' share, contact me. Seriously, don't make any changes, don't remove anything, CONTACT ME. Long story short, I got a PM from someone reporting that everything on the share was gone. Fortunately, you have to delete things twice to actually delete them, but I do not want to have to excoriate anyone over this.

What tires are we going to run on the lambo?

It's on the first page.

Street Cars
below 450 PP -> Sports Hards
450-499 PP ---> Sports Mediums
500 PP & up --> Sports Softs
Race Cars
below 600 PP -> Racing Hards
600 PP & up --> Racing Mediums

My wife just passed the project management exam. She was so stressed the morning of the test she made herself sick.

No offense, but if the test alone stressed her to that point, PM will kill her. It's a very high stress, fast paced job. If you don't have super active adhd, PM is very, very rough.

I have been thinking about an idea for Friday nights. What if we ran 1 hr versions of the week night races? So starting at 10:00 PM EST we could say run the following:

10:00 - Thursday Night Thunder
11:00 - Open Wheel Shoot out
12:00 - Performance Cap Sprint (4 10 minute races)

From Week to week the exact lineup would change so the next week could be

10:00 - SPEC Mini Enduro
11:00 - Touge
12:00 - Oval Racing

The idea is that each week it changes and it would give people a chance to try out the events they might not normally be able to make.

Anyone like the idea?

I still like my idea of getting a team enduro event going on Friday nights. Getting 5-6 teams of 3-4 people with each team in a uniform car and running a 1.5 hr race and winning team can pick the next track each week. I've been working on this for a while and I know we aren't a big tuning league, but I could see this as a way to test some of our tuning and driving skills with HIGH(600+) pp cars but having a set pp to be at so there is relatively no difference. I have been wanting to try something like this for a very long time and would love to see it as an every week event! But this is just my view on what I would like to see!

@ jobyone: I love the idea! I really do, but I believe that is a lot of time to be asking and for anyone on the east coast, staying up till midnight doesn't sound like the best idea! I personally believe that it would work better with 2 events or starting earlier! just my $0.02.

Perhaps I was not totally clear. People could just come do the events they wanted. So you might only do the 11-12 race or the 10-11. You would not have to take part in all of them. And there is no reason it could not start earlier if people wanted it to.

Ok, I can see that. That clears it up a bit better!

Team events have never gained any traction here. People may sign up for a team and two weeks later they are gone.

You would spend a month getting the league together and getting everything planned. Everyone would be excited and geared up to play. Then two weeks later 80% attrition rate would rear its ugly head and half the teams would lose most of its members.

You can probably get two man teams together like we did for the Team and Tuner Series.

Well I know people have been saying they would like higher pp cars and I think having an event that does that would help suppress the hearsay about not getting a lot of fast cars on Sunday nights. This is what I'm trying to solve. If people want to drive fast cars, I want to try to get a solution for it!

You can probably get two man teams together like we did for the Team and Tuner Series.

This is what I was trying to base my idea off of!

Happy 1 year fellas!

WOOOO thanks guys! Hard to believe it's already been a year. It feels good to know that I achieved my d1 goal. When I first joined I told myself I'd be in d1 within a year and look at me now :cool:

And now is as good of a time as any to give a health update. If anyone hasn't heard I've been extremely unlucky in the health department this year and haven't been able to catch a break. Had mono, blood infection, and other tid bits to kick off the year. Almost had a relapse back into mono a month ago and have been in and out if the Dr's all year. After months my body is still trying to fight off some kind of an infection and we don't know what it is. I'll be going to an infectious disease specialist soon to try and figure it out. Right now it could be anything from lime disease to cancer... I'll post an update when I know more, but until then it's snail time.
I'd also like to thank everyone who played a part in putting this together as well as everyone that takes part. Not only is it fun and adds a whole new level of competition to the game, but it's given me something to do and look forward to when I can't do anything but sit around. Not to mention all the cool guys I've gotten to meet 👍 If we ever have that snail meet and greet (I prefer snail meet and beat) I'll definitely be there.

That is all.

Edit. To end on a more cheery note I just found out the bird likes classical guitar lol
