Welcome to the Nurburgring Super Lap Battle

There are a few Budget or Stock lap challenges for Nurburgring but no Unlimited on S3s (as it is in real life).

The tyres are limited to S3s because those are the international standard for Time Attack in real life, street legal tyres, slicks are not allowed.

The rules are limited.

- S3 tyres max
- You are only allowed to use cars which come with Sports tires as stock, so some tuner cars are allowed but rally isn't.
- Any modification
- NO NOS
- AIDS are not allowed apart from TCS which is up to driver.

Post your time, car (with allowed car name change because its your tuned version).

I hope that the people still interested in GT4 do try this.

I still play GT4 and GT5p and will till GT5 comes out, ill start posting times the next time i play GT4.

This is to be ran in GT mode not arcade mode right?

And no replays needed? i don't know how to post replays from the PS2 memory card, its so much easier with the PS3

The record for that car in real life is of around 8'05.xxx, which is vastly different from the record one person can normally achieve in the game running on S3 tyres. I think we should use N2 as in the rest of the threads. That would give it a bit more realism. Still, you can do 7'40.xxx with N2 tyres on the game... Where's the realism in that? Let's stick to S3 tyres then.

I understand what your saying, but this is for tuned cars... Stock setup times should be posted in the Nurburgring Challenge thread (the one using N2s)... this is to see who can be the fastest with an OEM chassis and street legal tyres (S3s) tuned to the max, just like Time Attack in real life.

No replays needed, just honesty, theres no awards so...

If you guys could give weight and power figures too that would be good.

My best time in an RX-7 is 6:43.830 with 574hp and 1126kg.
 
I haven't played GT4 in mooooonths, but have just stumbled across this thread and I'm keen! Will give it a nudge in my RX7 now

Did 1 lap after not playing in months in my 'full house' (i.e. Everything done) RX7, did a 7.51.116 (LOL)

Managed to keep it in a straight line and facing the right direction for the whole lap though, happy about that!

Lap 2 = 7.41.328
Wow watch out for speed racer here haha

Gave this a try last night in the Suzuki GSX. Heres my time.

6.43.891 - Suzuki GSX - 275BHP - 597KG

Could probably go another 3 - 4 seconds quicker but the car needs an oil change and a chasis refresher. I'll give it another go tonight.
 
This challenge really intrigued me, so I dug up a Tuscan Speed 6 from deep in my garage, made a few changes, and here's how it looks so far:

TVR Tuscan Speed Six (with wing)
523 HP (replay screen)
968 kg
S3 / S3

Lap time: 6'40.107

This was run with the full customize transmission left untouched. I recognize that the car has a lot of time still possible in it, due to my mediocre driving ability and the trial-mountain tuned suspension. I think it could hit 6'30 with some luck and suspension changes, so I'll update later.
 
Did a 6:39.996 in the NSX-R, needs a bit of work still so I hope a few more seconds will be shaved off.
 
Did 6'43.892 at Nürburgring with the Argentune M5.. Not that much faster, but still improved :)

S3 tyres, w/TCS set to max, first attempt in months of not playing. Lost all sense of the track and came out below expectations. Would be interesting how the times would be if the rules were set to ONE LAP attempts...
