Ok I have an '04 Dodge SRT4 , and since the game only has an 03, that's what i ran. I added N3 tires since I have Falken Azenis RT tires on mine, as well as a 1way limited slip diff (Stock on '04/'05's). I also ran the most basic intake/exhaust upgrade since the '04's had more power than the '03s.

I ran a 8'56.678

(not sure if my picture will work)

Gt car was '89 galant vr-4 using n2 tires and sport exhaust, sport clutch. Its as close as i could get to a 91 eclipse gsx. The eclipse is mostly stock other than a good stiff clutch and the boost is upped a bit on the stock turbo (why I did the sport exhaust) Tires are Dayton Daytona HR, much stickier than stock. On a clean run i got a 9'25.003

is the Eclipse 4wd?

i don't have a car- still way too young. my family have just got a green 1997 r reg nissan primera 1.6 gx (which i'm glad of, cause otherwise i'd have to post a time for a white 1994 nissan sunny 1.4 hatchback :ouch: ). for gt4, i chose the following car and settings to make it as close to our car as possible:

red nissan primera 2.0te (j) '90 (since that's the only primera in the game)
n1 tyres :nervous:
abs on, but tcs off
since the 2.0te's more powerful, to keep it more the same i kept the oil dirty when i bought it 💡

i got a lap time of 10'13.851.

Nice idea but getting a ( vauxhall corsa Active sport 1.4 twinport ) round that track could take a while lmao.
but might do it for the fun if it ;)

OK! ran it in arcade mode with the closest setting to my car with...

N2 tyres
998KG
105HP

and the clean lap time was 10'06.264

I've got a 78 280z in real life that i'm doing some work on.
in game I used the 240ZG (because the 78 280z-L is actually a US spec 280zx, diff. chassis)
mods:
racing exhaust
stage 1 clutch
stage 2 flywheel
racing trans (to get the gear ratios perfect)
sports suspension
sports chip
NA tune 1
S2 tires
Port and Polish
Engine balance
and I think that's it.
on my Z i'm rebuilding the engine right now, but when I finally finish with the car it'll look like this
Light weight flywheel (11lbs I believe)
Megasquirt ECU
ported intake mani/custom mani (not sure yet, this is why i did the port/polish on the GT4 version though. the manifold currently is 53% smaller than the head ports, i'm going to fix that problem my car has hah)
Internals are going to stay stock really, except a full engine balance.
I had to use the NA tune 1 on the GT4 version to compensate for the lower displacement of the 240zg, and also because my engine has a slightly higher compression due to the head being shaved.
It'll also have full twice pipe headers and exhaust, running through some small straight through mufflers (loud and nice sounding)
the reason for the S2 tires on the GT4 car, is due to the fact that stock they run 75/90/14's and my car currently has 70/225/14 of a higher quality. basically, the tires are freaking huge. they're the widest tire you can fit under the stock fenders. And they don't really like to burn much at all. the S2 tires were the closest I found to simulating the amount of tire burn my car gets. I think i'll have to upgrade the suspension though because i'm getting stiffer springs for my Z. the sport setup only lets you adjust the shocks.
power output in game after an oil change was about 212hp. this seems to be right around where my power output will be when i'm finished.

Here's a tip for people having trouble with gear ratios. go ahead and get the full customizable one. the Auto setting will skew the ratio range for each gear. you just have to play with it till you find the correct range where you can adjust for your gears. in my case i had to use an Auto setting of 20 (iirc) before I was able to get the exact settings I needed.

That's all fine and dandy Maxwell, and im sure advising people on gear ratios and how to tune them after theyve been playing the game for four years and have already moved on to its successor, is a benefit to us all aswell, but:

Did you get a laptime?

:irked:👍
Ill tell you what my car did in a week, when i get back from the ring.

I'll have a better laptime in a bit I'm still trying to dial in this setup.
as for the transmission thing, i saw a couple people post they couldn't get it quite right and had to do calculations to figure it out (which i was going to do) in the like...3 or 4 years I've had this game i've never played with the gear ratio setup to find out that the auto setting skews the adjustment range.
so far though i've ran an 8'59.428
but I spun out on a high speed section (managed to not hit a wall, but took it through the grass)
first gear isn't 100% right but i never dip into it so that's fine.
3rd gear is so tall haha. I never noticed on the street but it's a REALLY tall gear compared to the rest.
and 5th (overdrive) is totally useless on this track.

managed to drop my time to an 8'52.999
i really need to upgrade the suspension to put in the stiffer springs. the ones i'm going to have in my car are TWICE as stiff as the stock springs. if it wasn't for that I might be able to get something closer to the 8'40s

Do rental's count ? :sly:

If so, I can use a Neon, if not, then I'll have to use a mini-van of some sort, I don't own a car of my own, I just drive what my family has :scared:

Either way this is an interesting idea that I want to give a try
