I ran my '91 Lexus GS 300 at the Nürburgring yesterday, for 2 laps. The best time was a 9:09.409 on the second lap. It topped out at about 145mph on the straight. The first lap was about 3.1 seconds slower. The second lap was cleaner; although I didn't hit or cut across anything, it was 98% clean (at two points I had 3/4 wheels on the grass for a moment).

This puts me between daan and FastEddie12, as per the first post:
9:09.350 / Peugeot 406 / daan
9:09.846 / Honda Prelude / FastEddie12

Since the GT4 car has a turbo (used, no oil change rating: 263ps), and mine is the NA (210hp) version, I added 100kg of ballast, right in the middle, to even things out. I'm using summer tires, but they're not exactly high-performance, so I selected N2 tires. No other mods exist to my real-life car, but even though it's an automatic transmission, I ran the race in MT mode.

Ironically, the GT4 used car has almost exactly the same mileage (~40,100 miles for the GT4 car and 40,450 on my real car)!

In any case, my car's a lot more fun to drive with N2 tires...I'm going to use more of them in the future!

How good a battle would that have been if we were all on the track at the same time? You'd probably have beaten me if we were. I'd have led you onto the straight, but you would draft past me, and I might not have got back past you again before the line.

I'd have led you onto the straight, but you would draft past me, and I might not have got back past you again before the line.

Actually, I'd probably lose control at the 3rd-gear bend, or plough into the rail on the outside of the 2nd-gear corner. My car in GT4 doesn't like to draft, I've noticed.

Either that, or I'd seriously bend a suspension control arm like a banana over those last few curbs!

Nah, the 2JZ would win. They always win. :P
I'll move over if there's a blue flag. Except at Karrussel, I just got it re-painted after Wilma chewed it up.

I wish I could get my GT4 game to work so I could give you a run for your money! lol. The disk read error is annoying the hell out of me. Cleaning the laser did nothing.

On the plus side, I just ran a faster time on my bike. 7:33.360. :)

I'm sorry, what was that?

I thought this would be a fun idea... basically, take a car which you personally own that is also in GT4, and mod it to match your personal car as best as is possible. Obviously it won't be perfect, but just get it as close you can. If you own more than one car that's also in GT4[/]b], feel free to do multiple times. The idea here is to have fun and see what your actual street car is capable of. (or your race car if you own one) You can choose a car which you currently have, or one you have previously owned, whatever you want, as long as you have both owned and driven it.

Here's the rules:
Car Rules:
1. Choose the most applicable version and year of your car which you can find.
2. If you have a good idea of how much power your car produces (dyno, or otherwise), try to make it match as close as possible
3. If you have all-season tires, go with the N1 tires. If you have performance tires, go with the N2 tires. If you have ultra high performance/max performance tires, go with the N3 tires. If you have race tires, like Hoosiers or Victoracers, you can choose S2's.
4. Nitrous can be used only if you actually have nitrous on your car
5. Go through and choose which mods your personal car actually has, and choose the most applicable mods.

Race Rules:
1. Quickest Nurburgring time for one single lap (which lap you record is your choice, doesn't have to be the first, slow-start lap).
2. Must be done in practice mode, without any other cars.
3. No riding walls, cutting corners, etc.
4. A-Spec mode only.

General Rules:
1. Post your laptime and car. Post pictures of your real car if possible. Show all the mods you have done and all the corresponding mods you chose in GT4.
2. Multiple submissions are welcome if you find a new best, or just want to report what you got with a different car, etc
3. Obviously pictures and videos aren't required, this is meant to be fun, but try to be honest.
4. Have fun!

:P

I've just done a 8:57.208 after 6 more laps. Still not as fast as my first-ever 'Ring lap with the Nike One, though. And for those who need proof:

Sorry, Famine...I was all out of custard.

Cool Thread:dopey:

3 cars: 2001 zx3, 85 MR2 (track car), 89 range rover (sold)

first I did the MR2:
realmr2.jpg

Real life: NA 1600cc, mild cam, adj. cam gears, tuned w/chip, race int/exh, 93oct., lightweight flywheel, racing clutch, upgraded brakes, tokiko adj. , front/rear swaybars, hoosiers/victoracers/proxes on seperate wheels, fully gutted, harnesses, full cage, etc.

GT4 mods:
bought used NA MR2 G, stage 1 engine, racing exhaust, chip, race fly, race clutch, fully adj. suspension, s2 tires, race brakes, stage 1 lighten, rigity stiffener

Best time in 3 laps: 8'48.359 wow i'm a lot slower than the other mr2's here...time to practice!

2001 Focus ZX3:

zx3back3.jpg

Real life:intake, 75mmMAF, 75mmthrottle body, ford racing stage II cams, adj. cam gears, race header, borla exhaust, lightened pullies, custom chip, top speed limiter eliminated, H&R Cup Kit susp, poly mounts/bushings, front/rear strut bars, rear seats/panels/etc. removed,
hoosiers/Cooper ziex/azenis on sep. rims, etc. Euro bumpers, grill, ST170 HeadLights, fenders, etc

GT4: I used the ST170 focus and left it stock except for a sp. exh (took it up to 176hp) and stage 1 lightened., with s2 tires. I didn't use 6th gear since my focus is a five speed; didn't affect it too much and kept top speed to 130 (I hit that in mine)

Best in 3 laps: 8'48.625
*This was cool since the focus and the MR2 get very similar times when I autocross them and take them to track days at Nelson's Ledges, Gingerman, and Beaverun.

Last: 89' Range Rover (sold it 3yrs ago; no pic)
Real life: bull bars, light guards, roof rack, custom stainless exhaust

GT4: I had to do this in Arcade mode so I could de-tune the concept version:dopey:

I put on comfort tires, -10% power (down to 300hp), added 3% weight, and didn't let it go above 105mph on the straights(fastest I ever took mine)
The nose dive under braking was pretty realistic! Fun stuff:tup:

Best time in 2 laps: 10'05.302

Next I'll try to find something equivelent to test my old man's 3 mini coopers (old ones), AH sprite, morgan +8, land rover series IIA which I learnd to drive stick in :)

Since bikes are included, I've got a 8.26.862 on my dads CBR600.

Never understood why there's no mustang 5.0 in this game:grumpy:
anyways, Here's my real car:
1991 Mustang 5.0

so i guess it does around 450 horses at the crank

Suspension Mods :
H&R Cup Kit(Springs&Shocks)
BBk Caster Camber kit
BBk Strut& Sway Bars
Energy suspension Bushing set

Other mods:
3.73 Diff

This isn't my car, it's actually my brother's. Mine is a craptacular 1993 Saturn SL (FF, 1101 kg, 85 hp, 107 ft-lbs).

I'd rather drive my brother's 1990 Toyota Supra. He has a much improved exhaust with a cat bypass, a high flow air filter, and decent tires. So the car I'm using is:

Toyota Supra 3.0GT Turbo A (black only :( )
+12% power (263 hp; better exhaust really helps turbo Supras)
+0% weight (1570 kg)
No driving aids
Manual transmission
N2 tires

EDIT: I'm stupid. I posted this before I actually ran a lap. Oh well, I'll go back and edit this post later.

EDIT 2: First lap was rather disappointing, second lap I got 9'14.917. I'll do an equivalent to my Saturn SL next.

Okay, my other car, that 1993 Saturn SL. The only car I could find that was both heavy enough and underpowered enough was the Citroen Xsara:

-20% power (85 hp)
-7% weight (1097 kg)
No driving aids
Manual transmission
Economy tires

As an added kicker, the Xsara has around 108 ft-lbs of torque, almost the same as my Saturn. I don't know if the torque is scaled as well as the horsepower, but that's the one thing my Saturn has going for it. Hell, the car's even available in green.

My first and ONLY lap (I don't want to do that again...) was completed in 10'54.861.

9'43.358 in the Mazda 323F 2.0 V6, filling in for a Mazda 323F 2.0 V6 with a spoiler :P

Since i am still too young to drive :scared:
My dads Mr2 (aw11) Mrk 1 Later generation T-bar 1600 G
Im guessing it has lost a bit of horsepower and stuff over the years, but i have done a lot of work on it whilst my dad has been drving his Golf mrk 1 clipper. Its got Koni adjustables on. Hey everyone with Mr2s 👍 Nice choice.

Game car:
Toyota Mr2 1600 g 86' With fully Adjustable suspension (set to around medium)

Oil change too because the oil is always spotless in it
And a wash cos i spent all yesterday washing it but then it rained on it

First run: 9'50.484 Anyone else having problems with the car rocking at high speeds?
Second run: 9'17.632

Real life:
Alfa Romeo 147 2.0 T-Spark '02 model (purchased in '03)

Lap time: coming tomorrow :D just thought i'd get my placeholder in.

Unfortunately you can't get the sport wheels through the rim shop, and the gearing on the in-game car is slightly taller than my real life counterpart, though that can be fixed..

I have a 2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe - Black with Performance package, rated at 298 hp

I used the 2003 Infiniti G35 Coupe - Black - 276hp, Soft tires +8% power for 299hp.

^ Sport tires are not allowed unless your street car is equipped with race rubber. You should be using N2 or N3 tires for this challenge, N2 if they are performance tires or N3 if they are max/ultra-high performance tires. If you can successfully drive the car in the winter snow without changing the tires, they are N2's at most.

S3's? And here I thought my selection of N2's was a stretch, given that they're Pirellis, but they're all-seasons.

Ok, I don't know how, but I set the Supra back to BONE STOCK and ran a 7:45.375. S2 tires, even. No power mods or anything. WTF...

Real Car: 1992 240sx fastback, 165hp, 1200kg

GT4 Car. 1991 Silvia Q's, 20% more power, 9% more weight

First run out, damnit I just saw the tire rule.

economy tires 9.55 553

sports medium 9.32 554

It actually helped because I could follow my car, but i had more braking to do so. Atleast this time I only ended off the track once or twice. I was more awake too,

So does the first post get edited anymore?

it doesnt look like it... but i'll post mine anyway, guess it will be a new low :nervous:

1981 Mitsubishi Colt with 70 bhp and 800 kg
