It’ll likely include my first car, so that’ll likely be the Toyota Aqua S. (We’ll be able to pick between the Aqua, the Mazda Demio XD, and the Honda Fit for our first car.) Being a UCD car, my Aqua will likely end up being modified quite a bit.
Definitely looking forward to see how far in the campaign I can get by just using(and modifying) the Aqua. Even if/when I buy more cars for the GT Cafe collections, I still wanna see how much you can tune that Aqua. I’ll definitely buy a second Aqua to leave as-stock, too, albeit maybe not as part of my ultimate ten-car garage.
Honestly, I think what ten cars I’d pick depend on the campaign structure. It’d be real neat if I could complete the campaign (or even a majority of it) with only ten cars, and then save a bunch of credits. But I doubt that’ll be the case, which is exactly what I’d like - to have GT7 encourage the use of as many different cars as possible, between the campaign and online play.
I know I’ll definitely need at least three other cars, each with the other possible drivetrains. For FR, maybe I’ll get the Subaru BRZ S ‘15, and then for the MR challenge, I’m not too sure, as it’s not like there are too many affordable MR cars in real life, and thus in GT as well. That is, except for the Toyota MR2, and maybe the ‘92 NSX Type R if I feel like spending the extra credits. As for the 4WD Challenge, I think I’ll get a Skyline GT-R R32, because why not?
EDIT: Actually, instead of that GT-R R32, I could quite possibly go for the Mazda Atenza sedan, too. Likely would be a lot cheaper. In fact, it seems that within the context of GT Sport’s car list, the Mazda Atenza is the cheapest 4WD car in the game, so yeah, I think I’ll go for that.
So that means my list so far is as follows:
Toyota Aqua S
Subaru BRZ S ‘15
Mazda Atenza ‘15
Toyota MR2 GT-S ‘97
I mean, much like the Atenza, the MR2 that’s in Sport is one of the cheapest MR cars in the game, only being outdone by cars I don’t foresee as being viable in the MR Challenge as-stock, like the kei cars.
EDIT2: Then I bet I’ll need a Gr.3, Gr.4, Gr.B, and Gr.1 car, and possibly a Gr.2 car as well. I think that I might go for the four Hyundai models in Gr.4/Gr.3/Gr.B/Gr.1, if only to be different. Not sure about what Gr.2 I’ll pick, but it’ll likely be a modern Super GT500 machine, if only because I think there’ll be an event that features them. (Though I hope we’ll have an event to use the other potential Gr.2 machines that aren’t Super GT cars, too, like the Mercedes-Benz CLK-LM.)
Of course, I’d say all the other cars I’ve mentioned so far - barring the Toyota Aqua - depend on what cars I can win from events, licenses, and so on. Indeed, I plan to see how far I can get in the campaign with buying as few cars as I can. That said, I think we’ll only unlock more courses when we complete more collections, so I very well may need to buy several cars over the course of completing the campaign. Perhaps I should write about my time in GT7’s campaign when I get it.
