The PC version deforms the car as well so the PS3 version doesn't. Bug? Hopefully a patch can fix this, along with all the other issues this game has.

It's been said before that EA is in bed with MicroSuck and yet people keep buying MicroSuck games when on multiplatform. Valve bagged on the PS3 publicly and now EA is screwing over the PS3 with features and F'ups! Peter Moore is the MicroSuck mole that got the anti-PS3 ball rolling.

There's a good fanboy-o-rific post.

There are a lot of factors why it might be different, but I think the main one is that there are developers out there that have said development for the PS3 is more difficult than the 360. Is it an excuse? Not really but if a company finds something easier they are going to favour it since there return will be more from the sales. I'm not going to fault them for that.

We all know EA is an awful company though, why complain about it? It seems like most people hate their games but continue to buy them, if you hate them that much just stop supporting them.

Am I mistaken, as it appears the PS3 version hit a Tire Wall, not a Solid wall like the X360 did.

Differing damage settings, different surface impacted and a totally different angle of impact.

Not exactly what I would called a balanced comparison.

Scaff

I was wondering if that might be the case too, but I wasn't sure. Now that someone else verified it I will happily agree.

It doesn't actually matter in this case. The PC and Xbox360 versions deform on impact. No matter what you do in the PS3 version nothing worse than a cracked windscreen and a lost bonnet happen visually.

I concur, I have hit pretty solid walls on the PS3 version (particularly on London) and neve rhad that kind of deformation, I feel really quite cheated:(

Anyone fancy to start a game from scratch ??
I'm almost certainly sure PS3 version had awesome damage with lots of deformation in the first (few) race(s)...
which then suddenly changes and all you get is poor looking scratches. :/

Of course we still wouldn't know if it's done purposely or another BUG. :banghead:

It doesn't.

I know it's a real shame because its dampened my excitement for Forza 3 not being able to use the G25. I can't justify a fanatec wheel at the price they retail at and can't really justify the Xbox wheel as they seem like they shouldn't retail for anymore than £40. :grumpy:

This sucks... but it shouldn't be an issue anyway the Xbox 360 should be able to support the G25!

Well - Thank you for posting that, that settles it. NFS : Shi(f)t is a no-buy. I simply can not believe EA is trying to pull that.. Amazing..

Love the comments on Youtube though - Fanboy'ism at the very best (-:

Well it's EA, after all. They would do anything just to make more profit. I think that they got money from microsoft. I mean this and the lower definition. (1080 Xbox VS 720P PS3) Message to EA : You guys are pathetic, I would NEVER have bought Shift if GT5 would have been out at the same time and this is the last time you will get my money. Stupid just stupid.

Sure beats suckling Bill Gates' left nipple while he makes fart blow torches with your XBL yearly donation.

720 vs 1080? No excuse there.

Glad I'm not the only one that noticed this. I've been trying to bring up awareness of this issue on the Shift forums. This is the first and last multiplat game I buy on PS3. Only got it on PS3 so I could use it with my DFGT. Usually the Sony fanboys pick up on this and make a ruckus.

I brought up the damage differences bug in another thread. It seems all too clear now... Each version appears to have it's own bugs, this being exclusive to the PS3 for some unknown reason :/

Oh Well, i'm sure that a patch was in the works before Slightly Mad Studios (Perhaps they really are?) even released the game! I hope... :indiff:

They probably released it in it's near-finished(?) state to satisfy the money people...... EA👎

I'd hardly say damage was the biggest issue to fix... sort out the bouncing 1st guys FFS.

Reading through the thread on the EA forums, one of the developers was asking for details about the bouncing. So to me this means it will not be fixed in this current patch but it is something they're looking at. I've had limited time with Shift and haven't yet experienced this but I encourage everybody who has to contribute to the thread over at EA.
