I have tried these things 3 times over each. can't get any higher than silver on all except the mini challenge in which i come 6th. :grumpy:

anyone tried it yet? and got a recommended setup?

I managed to get 1st in the mustang race, but no better than 2nd trailing 12 secs behind 1st in the rx-7 race. Haven't tried the others yet, don't wanna buy cars just for 1 race, seeing as how I already have a mini but too much hp for this race. Here's my rx-7 tune http://https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=149579

I'm no tuner now so don't expect much, I can post the tune that got me 1st in the mustang race if you want.

Can you post the Mustang Tune bud? :)

Give me like 30 mins and it'll be here. I'm stuck in a B-spec championship at the moment, but there's only 1 race left. p.s. it's not a great tune by all means but I managed 1st after a couple of tries getting 2nd.

Mustang Gt '07 Seasonal Event 2 Race

390hp 394ft-lb (could have got more hp but this tune has the most torque)

window weight reduction, carbon hood, chassis reinforcment(optional), ECU tuning, stage 1 engine tuning, racing air filter, sports exhaust MANIFOLD, FC trans, twin clutch, semi race flywheel, LSD, carbon drive shaft, sports hard tires

trans 174mph
LSD
int 9
acc 33
bra 8
ride height -1/3
spring rate 12.7/11.6
damp ext 5/6
damp com 6/8
roll bars 5/5
cam 2.6/1.3
toe -0.20/-0.10
brake 4/6

Again this is not a great tune but it got me 1st place so tweak away if its not working for you.

great tune, got 1st easily :)

The RX7 Tsubuka race has a minimum weight of 800kg.. I'm not sure, but when you do Stage 3 Reductions on the FD3s they all weigh around 1050kg..

Has anyone found an RX7 that runs under 1000kg.. that'll probably be the car to use to Gold this event.

The Ford Focus/Madrid and RX-7/Tsukuba races are ones I'm finding challenging so far. I'm somewhat close on the Focus one, about 3.5 seconds off the lead at the finish. I might be able to do it with a little more practice. You basically need to put down 5 near-perfect laps.

As for the RX-7, I only tried it a couple of times so far. I was 16 sec off the leader's pace - I can see myself shaving about 10 seconds off my time, but this one's going to be quite tough as well. I get massive understeer with this car - if someone can suggest a tune to make the car get around the turns easier, it would be a great help :)

The Mini and Mustang races I found pretty easy... golded both on the second attempt (once I figured out the correct transmission setting). Haven't tried the 'ring yet, as my Nascar is over the HP limit.

I'm having a really hard time with the Mustang race on Leguna Seca. I've taken it to the track, and ran times between 1:41.7-1:42.3.... The problem is, the first place guy is running on average a time of 1:41.6.

What are your lap times with this car? (394 HP max)

I hopped in the Mustang and got it to precisely 394 hp (don't remember how, I know I used a sports filter thats all!) and added all the other little extra's (car colour carbon hood ftw, I'm not screwing a Mustang with a carbon look hood!).

A little bit of testing brought this tune together, its not perfect, but it felt very good, plus I was in first place on lap 4 so I didn't bother tweaking further.

Aero's installed - default

Ride Height: -6 -6
Spring: 10.8 12.5
Exten: 7 3
Comp: 4 7
Anti Roll: 3 7

Camber 2.6 1.1
Toe: 0.00 -0.20

Trans: 142max (might be better knocked down to the 130 area)

This car really badly needs a retune from the stock setup, it handles so badly out of the dealership its ridiculous. Try that setup DJRich and see how you get on, you may well blitz it!

Oh, lap times were 1:38-1:39 area

Awesome tune man took me a few tries but I got it dialed in I believe the speed was set at 137

Thanks for the Tune. I cut down my lap times only slightly, i'm still only running 1:41's in practice. And in race i'm in about the 1:46's. I don't know if I just suck, but i'm having difficulty conquering this course.

What are your driving options set to? (TCS, recovery force, active steering, ASM, ABS)

I've gone from 10th, to 7th, to 3rd. But can't for the life of me come close to first. still over 20 seconds out.

Thanks

Here is my Mustang tune (used the Apex book to create it)

Great tune. After a couple tries and some tweaking of my own I managed first in the event. thanks again

great tunes, but oh my goodness these events are horrible. They actually are making me HATE gt5. I like how they give such generous amounts of credits and xp, but the make the races the worst races EVER. I don't know, maybe it is just me, but I can not stand to play these seasonal events. I'm going back to grinding in A-spec.

I disagree, I like the events! it forces you to improve your lap times with limited resources and tune your car to achieve the first place! It keeps me busy for hours! But with the A-spec you just pick a faster car and win it easily...

so I do like the events, but having a hard time at the moment with the Focus race on Madrid. what are the laptimes you need to drive? and does somebody have a good tune for the Focus? really coping with understeer...

cheers

I'm also having problems with the Focus. Nascar one too, its killing me.

Try this for the Nascar bonus event:

Aerodynamics 50/70
Transmission 360 Km/h
LSD 30/50/20
Ride height 0/0
Spring rate 11.2/10.0
Dampers Extension 3/3
Dampers Compression 3/2
Anti-Roll Bars 5/1
Camber Angle 2.8/1.0
Toe angle 0.00/0.15
Brakes Balance 7/6

The default setup is way too stiff for Nuerburgring Nordschleife, the car handles likes a brick with that, bounces everywhere.

Great setup! I was hitting 6'40s on the first lap because my stupidity cost me the race. (Nothing to do with the setup)

Fantastic set up. I went from finishing 6th, 13 seconds behind to coming 2nd just 1 second behind. Will try it again later.:)

Great tune, thanks for the insight.

Finished 1st on the the first try with both the car and the set up, overtook the final car at the end of the fourth lap. Surprisingly, the Mustang brakes are excellent enough to brake much later than you would think. The other key is 100% throttle coming out of the corkscrew, the car can handle it perfectly fine.

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, but I'm understeering all over the place with that setup. The gears are stupid short, so when I'm not understeering I'm bouncing off the rev limiter. What the crap is a 6 speed doing in a car that wasn't offered with a 6 speed?

Same here. The Mustang is so far the WORST car I've driven in GT5, it understeers like badly under braking (tires go red instantly), then it oversteers if you attempt to put the power down. It drives like a pig on roller skates.

I'm working on tuning it but I've so crazy toe and brake settings in attempt to fix the turn in problem. For the oversteer I'm fighting that with the LSD. The current tune I have is great for drifting I think. The turns on Laguna all tighten which mean they make any car seemed to understeer worst. Thus this track + car combo is a major pain. However I can get 3rd and my times indicate that consistent laps will win the race for me... just gotta keep trying.

I don't have a problem with the gears (max speed 130-ish) other then the fact that 2nd is so short its pointless. Coming off the last turn you pretty much have to shift from 1st to 3rd, since as you soon as you select 2nd it hits the rev limiter. I'm really starting to miss the control over the individual ratios.

Five hours with the Mustang and the best I could manage was 2nd... so I gave up and turned on Skid Recovery Force for the win. These events are just pain too hard for me :(
