GTuned was selected as the Judge's Choice winner last week, and as such he's chosen this week to be a Manipulation Week.

Raphaele won the public vote, and the theme he has chosen is Fine Art!

Further explanation of theme, which is chosen by Week 08 Winner, Raphaele:

Turn your GT5 shot into a piece of art.
Manipulate, paint, spray, draw, erase – anything allowed.
- Photoshop and other apps (e.g. ArtRage)
- any car at any location or track
- even pictures showing pure landscape, architecture or people.
- a unique gallery frame would be fine (not a must)
- unleash your creativity and impress the judge!

I want to see your entries just like pictures at an exhibition.

There you have it folks! Raphaele is looking for entries that fall on the more artistic side of the fence, so get your creative juices flowing! This harks back to the old GT4 Artistic Competition, so maybe check that out if you're in need of inspiration!

As an addition to our usual rule set, Raphaele would also like you to post up your original image from GT5 alongside your Final Entry.

And remember...
Be creative and have fun!

  • Photoshop or another image editing program MUST be used.
  • Each entry must have some part from a Photomode picture from Gran Turismo 5.
  • One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a comp.
  • It is recommended you host your image on ImageShack, Photobucket, or Flickr.
  • Not sure how to post a thumbnail or preview image? Read this sticky!
  • Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text.
  • When submitting, use either a thumbnail or a preview image, linked to the full-sizer.
  • No full-size images posted in thread; your entry will be ignored.
  • A preview image is not only allowed, but encouraged! However, preview images can
not exceed 500 pixels in either direction. This includes borders or drop shadow effects.
[*]Winner of the public vote gets to choose the theme for the following week.
[*]Public vote winners also get to select the top 12 entries for the poll the following week.
[*]When selecting the top 12 entries the following week, the theme chooser will also select a
"Judge's Choice" winner, the entry which they feel has best captured the theme.
[*]The Judge's Choice winner gets to choose whether the following week will be either a
Graphics Week or a Manipulation Week.
[*]A graphics week will be primarily graphic design and layout based, for example magazine
    covers, or movie posters.
[*]A manipulation week will be primarily based on photo manipulation, for example creating
race cars in game, or making multi-car composites.
  • Winners cannot enter in their own theme!

Being a Photoshop competition, there are no limits on editing. Use every tool at your disposal to
create the desired effect. Feel free to utilise HDR techniques, photo stitching, whatever you like!
Your only real restriction is that you must use some part of a GT5 Photomode image!
The main thing to remember is to be creative and have fun!

This is going to be a somewhat n00b'ie and daft question but I assume its ok to get a shot and basically just make it look like a watercolour or a sketch, Things to that degree yes.

I'll just edit one shot and post it here, see if it's eligible. Nice theme, Raphaele.

And yet again i'm thinking of something no one else probably is. Now to actually make it work...
AH HA ! I made it work. Now for the difficult part.. Winning.
I think it looks awesome. Full view for all of the details. I tried including the spoiler, but it didn't look that good. But you can still tell what it is.

I will post the original tomorrow. I'm not about to go through 3,000 pics, at least not now.

Well, I'll post the middle exposure original image. If the judges want me to post the lighter/darker exposures too then I'll upload them too.

FINAL ENTRY

@MetalBeerSolid:
For HDR its okay to post just a single one of the original images.

Until now I find a real stunning variety of artwork.
For those who are losing their way now:
Art is – and has always been – a matter of taste.
So come on and let's see your own way of thinking!

FINAL ENTRY

Never entered the Photoshop competition before, I was just fidling around with photoshop when I accidently turned it into a neon sign. Looked half decent so I've decided to enter it.

wasn't going to really enter any of this weeks comps, but seeing this theme, I'll have a go at this, great theme Raphaele 👍

same goes for me ^^
I'm not that good with Photoshop but seeing all those entries I really want to give it a shot :D

Didn't mean to post a very similar one to you, skylinefx!

Anyway, you know how design studios often have early concept artwork on the walls? That's what I was going for, a car dreamt up by a 3rd grader in history class :P

I'm also going to mention that this kind of photoshopping is not my expertise, first time entering a photoshop comp.

I think I am going to change mine anyway.
