What would say was the top GTPlanet series and winning that would be the top of your GT5 career in a way? Is it the best idea, the best organised or highest interest?

The highest interest with the best lap times on the tires chosen by the series.

I'd definitely put R1600Turbo's Spec Miata series, the World Super GT Championship, Romosapien's Euro GT500 races, Nissman's GT500 race ladder, and a few more... I'll have to think about it, but for now I have to run back to work!

The GTPFIA GT1/GT2 series has been pretty epic so far. Long multi-class racing that really shows what you're made of.

Another one (even though it hasn't officially started yet) that is just beginning is the GTPACO Le Mans Endurance Series. Multi-class racing again but with 3 different classes running at once with very long races. I'm sure winning this would be the highlight of my GT5 career. Can't wait for the PSN to come back so we can get started.

I wouldn't say the WRS because it's offline time trials and weekly.
I'd say it would be the person withe the most wins in a year in Concours.

Or the Triple Crown.

The highest level of online racing in my opinion is in the ISC (International Supercar Challenge). The organisers are a GT Academy USA finalist GTP_timeattack and tony1311 (one of the fastest of all, probably the best greek player). Also, they invite only racers proved to be fast like GTP_Rutter200, Nissman, Wardez, R1600Turbo, etc.. They choose the cars so everyone have exactly the same and they will use plastic tires on monsters. Only to keep the cars from spinning will be a big achievement. Believe me this will be rewarding if you can win.

I think that the quality and the recognized skill of the drivers involved determines the level of competition, and the potential sense of accomplishment from actually winning while racing those drivers.

So, whatever series with the best drivers, based on laptimes in a particular car, GT Academy rankings, etc.

Yeah, I was gonna say ISC for sure but it hasn't started yet so I didn't include it but that will definitely the top category of racing online.

But to put the whole thing into a different light. Why don't we go ahead and categorize it just like A-Spec?

I gotta go back to work now (I'm at lunch) but I'll lay it out for you guys to all try your hand at sorting some of the different series into what you think they should be.

Beginer:

Amateur:
Suzuki Cappuccino RM
Professional:
Honda GTP WC, Lexus IS-F cup, FIA GT3
Expert:
FMSC, WSGTC, Euro GT500
Extreme:
ISC

just to name a few!

Racecar's Super GT series has been a pretty successful and prestigious series. It's on its Ninth season and has been around since GT4... possibly even GT3 I assume. To have such a large entrant list and not even have to post in the GT5 OLR board is impressive in it's own right.

What do you mean at the end with that being impressive for not posting on the OLR board? I don't understand, sorry.

What Rufus said. The On-Line racing section existed long before the GT5 Online Racing sub forum did. Most people who want to race against others have been posting here in the GT5 OLR area because that's where everyone is browsing. He didn't bother posting a thread (or if he did it's long gone) and he's got a full field of professional and experienced racers anyways. A testament to his organization and reputation, as well as the reputation of the racers and drivers he attracts.

How have they had a series going since GT4/GT3 when online racing didn't exist?

The Super GT/JGTC series was held time-trial style on GT4 before GT5. It's since migrated over to head to head online racing now for the first time at the start of Season 9.

Here's the latest post for Round 6 of Super GT

Also, try not to double post.

Wasnt a cheeky hint VRracingfan.:sly:
I made the thread for that very reason, I tought it would be very prestigious. People are probably sick of me going on about it now.
