True Force F1 Racing presents the new-for-2011 World Tour Competition, or as it shall now be known as - F1-MTC.

Welcome to the Formula Masters Touring Championship, you are amongst the elite selected to participate in this standalone series of absolute speed and concentration. Unlike the GP venues you've grown accustomed to, the F1-MTC is a series of time trial events in which you and your team must display absolute saavy when it comes to track setup and proving you are as fast as your peers claim you to be. Here, in the F1-MTC, there are no grid positions, there is only your time above the rest. You are to treat every round in this special series as a qualifying session; you're racing only against the time. In this competition time can be your greatest ally or your fiercest enemy.

Can you aspire to be a "Formula One Master"?

4. You and your team are allowed to use any setup found to be necessary for the track venue, the only restrictions are the chassis' themselves.

I would like to do it and hopefully I won't pull out like last time. I remember I couldn't get my camera working and just quit. So, you could sign me up for this and I will compete. (I've got a camera on my old phone.;))

I'm up for this :) It'll be nice to whip out F1 2010 again, with a wheel this time :dopey:

Really, no one else is interested? I know people are still playing! How about I sweeten the deal then...up for grabs will be a years worth of GTPremium.

How do you like them apples?

Try putting a link to this thread in your sig. And this subforum isn't that active anymore...

Nope. If you have a copy for the PS3 or 360 you can participate.

Without knowing exactly what's involved, I'm interested. Just about anything to get me more seat time :)

I can surmise based on the need for a camera, it'll be a 'recording your best lap' kind of thing???

That's not a requirement, but if you want to record your best lap and show it off I won't stop you at all.

Details to be posted today. I also might jump the gun and start it tomorrow with the six (?) people we have now.

Awesome. 👍

Thread has been renamed and details will be posted in a little bit.

T-12 I will be gone for the next couple of weeks starting Sunday so I'm going to miss at least one event, probably two depending on your scheduling of the TT's

Gotcha.

---

Now, registration is officially opened. Let me explain a few things just to clarify: when registering you must state your name (you can either use your real first and/or last, or a fictional first and/or last) and the F1 chassis you wish to occupy. As stated in the rules there are to be no more than two chassis from any team. The points system is preliminary and not final and should be changed soon enough.

Any further questions don't fret to ask.

I've just read the rules, they seem pretty standard :) One question, what does it mean in the last rule when it says Autolog? Isn't that Need for Speed?

Thought I edited that out.

Forgive the noob questions, but there's a few things I'm not clear on.

1. What is my team? Me and ??? or am I the team and I'm reading too much into this?
2. Two chassis from all teams on track at any given time? If my team is me, gonna be hard to get two chassis on the track at the same time.
3. Are we all driving together or are we driving at our leisure and submitting times before the deadline?
4. If we're driving at our leisure, which mode do we drive in (GP or Time Trial)?
5. Can chassis be used by more than one team?

2. Only two (2) chassis' are available from all teams. Meaning, just as in the official F1 Calendar, there are only to be two chassis' from all teams on track at any given time. There cannot be a grid full of one chassis.

What does the pressure lap do for the winner (not that I'm going to have to worry about this one)?

8. The winner of each event will have the opportunity of setting a "pressure lap" before the beginning of the next round.

Thanks!

Your "team" is whomever is driving your manufacturer's second chassis, and yes, you're reading too much into it.

2. Two chassis from all teams on track at any given time? If my team is me, gonna be hard to get two chassis on the track at the same time.

See above. You're definitely reading way too much into it now.

3. Are we all driving together or are we driving at our leisure and submitting times before the deadline?

At your own leisure before the deadline.

4. If we're driving at our leisure, which mode do we drive in (GP or Time Trial)?

Time Trial.

5. Can chassis be used by more than one team?

No. Once you've signed with a manufacturer, that's the manufacturer you're committed to throughout.

What does the pressure lap do for the winner (not that I'm going to have to worry about this one)?

Thanks!

Theoretically speaking it gives the winner an advantage. Since they're setting the time to beat they can only go faster, therefore adding even more pressure.

Surely those with the Mclaren will always have the advantage, since it is the fastest car?

Believe me, the McLaren may have the speed advantage on tracks it can be used, but the RB6 can be pushed a lot harder into corners. The MP4-25 is a bit too squirrelly at times.
So the advantage/disadvantage is pretty much identical to the real cars from the '10 season, hell, it's really the same as the current season as well.

Same with the F10.

But what about those who end up with the Renault, Mercedes etc. which are considerably slower than the Mclaren and Red Bull.

Not a level playing field.

The Renault is pretty spectacular around Monaco and I've seen a few top 100 times set with both cars on a couple of tracks (one of them being Yas Marina) but if the times are significantly off in comparison to the rest of the field then I'll address it.

I can see it being an issue, it might also put people off joining if they know they will be disadvantaged in lap time before ever turning a wheel.

Its not a true time trial championship if we are all using different cars.

How do you suspect we resolve it then? Limit it to just the top five teams: Ferrari, McLaren, Red Bull, Renault, and Mercedes?
