Dont get me wrong i love gt5 and the idea of dlc but the £9.49 price for the uk complete pack is a complete piss take , the us equivalent price is £7.63 at the moment !!! How can they justify the price difference ??? sorry sony but i was real excited about the dlc idea and was going to buy all of it but now will be selective . Can we get a petition of some sort ?

£9.50? Dayyyum.

I've only got £5 in my account at the moment, guess I'll have to pick up a fiver voucher If i'm not paid by the 18th October. I agree it's a bit over-priced.

I don't see why there should be a price difference but...

The difference in NZD is $4 which would buy me.... A cheeseburger.

Not really a huge deal. The amount of stuff we are getting for this price is amazing. I paid like $18 for the Monte Carlo track pack In Dirt 3. And Forza is just as bad.

The prices are set so they are nice, round and comparable for each regions economy. The difference you notice is just exchange rates.

Anyway its 10 quid for 2 tracks, 15? cars and a shed load of extras. 10 quid, that's all. It's not like we are talking serious money here, it's pocket money.

Wow....3 tracks, 15 new machines, tons of paints and suits and it costs too much? Is GT5 fans elitist or somesuch?

US has no sales tax I believe, UK we pay a 20% extra in VAT...

So the extra £2 or so is probably just VAT.

Still, all the content for under a tenner is a good deal IMHO.

Its a good price in comparison to others don't get me wrong, great value in that aspect. :D

But in general DLC is overpriced! I don't know if anyone agrees with me there.

I expect the complete packet for EU will be converted directly to €uro (like they always do)... I think 11,99$ will be 11,99€... What makes 16,44$ = 1/3 of the price for the full game (as it was not platinum).

I can't even see any GT5 DLC up at the moment. It's lucky I just got a job to be able to pay that much :-/ begrudgingly, though.

Ah, I see. Haven't really been taking much notice of GT5 stuff as of recent, just heard DLC was out with spec 2.0.

I'm downloading spec 2.0 at the moment.

Its expensive for kids that dont work granted but for everything that costs more in the UK (which is almost everything) you can usually blame the governments money grabbing taxes. Where is Robin Hood when you need him :(
I only want the track pack so still well worth it.

OP is probably not aware about economics reality called Foreign Exchange Market.

So please read this for example and come back to alter your opinion.

Oh, I haven't even bothered to check what it'll cost in HK dollars!

I'm assuming it'll be on par with the US equivalent price but who knows.....

I dont see an issue with the price, if they had put it a £15 or more then yes we would have an issue but £9.50 is not an issue in fact its comparably cheaper than other DLC and is on par for other online stores XBL, Steam, Onlive, iTunes ect. I spend about £8 a day on lunch and snacks at work so the price for the extras is worth it.

The issue is not with the price of the DLC, it's with the way the pricing is structured around the world. The pack in the US is charged at 11USD which at the moment is about 10.90AUD, yet in Australia we are being charged 18AUD for the download. Yet again Australians are being shafted for no good reason. I don't think anyone could seriously tell me that it costs an extra 7 bucks to deliver a few meg digitally here.

You think that's bad?

Complete pack
Price: AUD$18.95

Why do we ALWAYS get shafted?

Pretty annoying how we have to pay more when our dollar is worth more then the USD. I guess that would be our tax rates kicking in then....

Ps. I'll gladly pay it anyway, I don't want to fall behind while the rest of the community enjoys Spa and those classy new touring cars...

Edit: tree'd lol

Look at any software for pc's and you'll see its common practice for companies. Take PhotoShop or office for example. Much cheaper in the states. It's not a new thing and its a couple quid more. Big deal. Guess the moaners wanted it for a shilling.

We get shafted for everything compared to the US, nothing new and I actually expected it to be $19.95 AUD.

Where is everyone getting the localised prices from anyway?

Seeing the thread title, I thought it was going to be around £20, so half of that isn't bad. Bring on the fluorescent yellow painted rm prius, which the black stig takes around spa.

It's probably because of taxes and or the fact that your entire country has about the same population as the state of Florida and that the US has many times the purchasing power. They might figure that into the price, figuring out how many people will buy the DLC per region, and how much they can ''get away'' with charging in that region.

Yep, however one of the big reasons: For such a long time our dollar was worth half (or just over) the US's dollar which made everything pretty much twice the retail price, it stayed like this for many years and now our dollar suddenly was worth more than US it's a pricing habit that doesn't change over night (unless it is the other way around), but our prices are getting closer slowly.

Last time I was in the US (back in April) I bought some shoes for $140 US which retail here in AU for $240 but a bunch of years before that on another visit to the US I paid the same (~$140) but they retailed for $300 here.

Getting a little off topic sorry :ouch:
