In my opinion is the best car on the game except for the Red Bulls. It is nimble fast, and relatively easy to drive :) If you agree with me or are a fan of this car, feel free to join the Formula Gran Turismo Fan Club :)

I assume you have'nt tried the Ferrari F1's then. They drive far better and corner far better but not quite as fast in a strait line.

Not yet. I have tried them on F1 2011 and liked the overall grip but havent got enough money to buy the Ferrari's. Do u have the Formula Gran Turismos yet

I enjoy racing the FGT and the Ferrari F1's. Probably my favorite racing in the game.
I'm still holding out hope for a 2012 FGT to be added to compete with the F2007 and F10.

The best car for me, not for everyone else. but tbh every time i am online, i batter the opposition with raw speed off the start

Well duh. Unless you're racing against other Formula cars you'll wipe the floor with any competition.

The Formula GT may be a fast car, but it is by no means a fun car to drive. It is not the best car in the game either, as 3 cars (arguably could make it 6 if you include all separate variants) are faster and what you think is the best isn't what other people believe.

I bought a Gran Turismo F1 the other day and I love it but my personal favorite to this date (in terms of all out speed) is the Minolta 88c-V! I had so much fun with that thing today on Sarthe it wasnt even funny! I was stuck at 249mph (all car, do drafting) all morning and finally got it up to 250mph and it was such a big rush to hit 250 and NOT 249. It murders Veyrons off the line but they hit about 260mph and always catch me the last 1/4 mile of the run.

Anyways back on topic, I havent tried the Ferrari F1 on GT5 but on Prologue they were SCARY fast in the corners, twice as fast in low speed corners as on GT5 but I think thats because Prologue might have been more "arcadey".

The FGT is by far and away my favourite car, not to look at but to drive. Its insanely fast, and really challenging when you drive it on the edge. And thats just it, its a challenge. I find the Ferrari F1s way too easy, they have too much downforce.
I drive in the FGTC (formula gran turismo championship) so i have had a LOT of experience in this car. Its fast, exhilarating, and drives like nothing else on the game :D I love it

Totally agree with the OP, the Ferraris are way too easy to drive with all that downforce. Take most of that DF away, add about 300 more horses and you are presented with the most exciting drive in the game....the mighty FGT!

As much as I love the FGT (and I truly love it), you have to be a bomb technician to corner it (with a DS3, that is). Slamming the throttle will only result in a spin, and too little throttle will cause you to lose the race. I've tried tuning the LSD, but haven't had any luck (probably because I suck at tuning?).

I love driving it, but it can really bite back if you don't treat like fine china.

@ghsnu- If I can help you with the tune (and I can :D) send me a PM. The fact that you just cant just get in and go is what I love about the FGT, you need to practice and tune to get it just right. We raced the Ferrari F1's against the FGT's (you can now) and it was massive fun 👍

Pagey, who posted earlier set a 6.07 on Nurburgring 24hour course with his DS3 in his FGT (online). He murdered us wheel users that day :D

I love the FGT. At first, it is a tremendous challenge to drive consistently fast laps, but it is very rewarding once you get the hang of it.

Try 50, 45, 30 for LSD. Road courses and tracks like Suzuka. For Indy or Daytona, go 5, 5, 5.

Several in different colours, and all colour variations of the F1's. if you want to borrow one pm me although PD have taken away the best races from seasonalls to use them.

You have not yet found the art of tuning the minolta's gearbox and diff, It will go over 270 mph without draft. I managed 287 drafting but didnt play to much, with a really good setup it may be possible to hit 300mph in fact my mates Cien has behind a X2011 so the minolta should piss it.
