Stock versus tuned as always been a pretty popular argument in the Automotive world, so I think we should bring that to GTPlanet via Gran Turismo! It could be as simple as Z06 vs ZR1, with the money you save from buying a Z06, can you make a faster Corvette by upgrading it? We may have much different match-ups then that as well, I haven't decided if we will do tire upgrades, because it seems like that is an easy win. I will be doing match-ups that people request, 1-2 Match-ups per week will be made. I have a feeling this will be a fun little thing to do, and to be hones I am kind of Excited to see the results :sly: Pictures will be added and Reviews will be made afterwards to further explain the differences and Pros/Cons. Hopefully this becomes a pretty popular thread and we can continue to Contribute to the Tuned vs Stock debate. 👍 Note that the Match-up does NOT have to be from the same manufacturer.

The Comparison will consist of an Acceleration Test,

Viper SRT/10 vs. Viper ACR
Not to discard your idea, but there is only a 270 cr. difference between the ACR and the stock SRT10. With the ACR having a 94HP advantage, as well as a 27 FT-LB of torque advantage and the obvious downforce increase.

True. I forgot that they cost almost the same, so it wouldn't justify to tune up the SRT/10.

So lets' try the Camaro against the Z06 C6. Or maybe the Zonda C12 against the C12-S 7.3.

Ferrari F430 vs Ferrari F430 Scuderia

Just how much does the extra 100,000 cr (I think) buy you in terms of lap times?

Obviously not much, I can tell you. :P

Orrr…for the lulz a Ford Focus ST vs Ford GT/ Mustang GT.

How about an R32 Skyline GTR vs a bone stock R35 Skyline GTR 2012/2013. :sly::tip:

Can the Godzilla defeat the future emperor of the GTR dynasty? :D

Wow, all these ideas are awesome!

Some more I was thinking of,
Audi Quattro 3.2 vs R8 V8 4.2 FSL

C5 Corvette vs New Era Vette

Challenger vs Viper

Viper GTS vs SRT10

yeah, I seen that Idea and thought it was an awesome Idea, but then he reminded me the ACR was Ultimately the same price as the Coupe

Edit: which is a very dumb thing..

I have two here. The first one is really interesting

1. Lamborghini Gallardoi v.s. Lamborghini Murcielago

2. Lamborghini Murcielago vs Lamborghini Murcielago S.V.

Damn. I had exactly the same idea for WrongGear :) Even prepared old VW Bug vs Beetle RSi, but I don't have time to make photos for it.

Maybe stock vs race?
Merc 190E vs 190 Evo II
Ford RS200 vs Ford RS200 Rally Car
etc.

Good luck. I'm sure it will be fun for us to read and fun for you to test.

It's going to be hard to decide which one to do for episode one.. If you suggestion doesn't get Picked don't worry because there is a good chance a compelling match-up will be used in time.

Also, the cars do not need to be from the same manufacture, I will edit that into the OP because I didn't exactly make that clear, I do think that pitting 2 cars from the same company is pretty cool though as well

Tuned BMW 135i vs stock M3 E92. I always thought that little BMW had so much potential.

Or maybe a tuned 120d vs a stock 135i.

SL600 vs. SL65 AMG
Man, that's a good one!

It's like the eternal question of what is the best purchase, an AMG tuned SL55 or a regular SL600. Same power, different engine and mechanics.

yeah that is a good idea too.

What about 330i vs M5 ;) haha I honestly don't think the 330i could match the M5 with the money we'd have to spend

As earlier mentioned, matching cars from different manufacturers companies is encouraged

Regarding the poll, keep the tires stock between the two cars, it can offer too much advantage.

I would personally rather this.

ALSO! I have to make sure we are clear on this as well. When it comes to weight reductions.. Can we all agree on maybe a Stage 1 reduction At Most! in many cases that can take off 100+ KG which is a heck of a lot.. In our case it can simulate the use of, Carbon Parts? I don't know what to do in the way of loosing weight. Let me know what you think 👍 any ideas are appreciated

How about tires can only go up 1 level?

Ok, so lets try different manufacturers. How about the two most powerful Japanese super cars:

Lexus LFA vs Nissan GTR

Does a fancy sounding engine and the exclusivity of a limited production worth the extra $100,000+?

(for me, yes... just saying )

A tuned GTR would tare the LFA in half
