Fun racing for all GTP members!

Sunday afternoon after lunch GMT.
Times to be established each week, but generally after lunch on Sunday.
Read on

I'd like to propose a rally of sorts for any member of this site who have an hour spare once a week and can jump in and race. No skill required. No commitment required. It won't be a series and there won't be any prizes, well, maybe a small amount of bragging rights. Just drop in and rally your little Fiat.

The only car permitted for this rally will be the Fiat 500f '68 with tuning allowed up to 250PP. No customisable parts allowed (transmission/ suspension) but apart from that and the PP limit anything goes.

The concept is simple: once a week after lunch on Sunday (GMT) a lobby will be open for any members to come along and try their luck. Races will be held on snow, dirt and road of shorter lengths and each race will be around 10-15 minutes.

Comfort tyres will be the order of the day, naturally, and all room settings will be set to real (damage, grip, tyre wear) to make the experience more fun.

I've done a bit of experimenting with this car and tuning combination and it really is a blast. If you're in doubt try it yourself in practice mode one make race.

As for timing, I think Sunday afternoon would be most appropriate because it seems most people will be out of work at this time.

If you're interested post a message here. 👍

Very shameless plug...

I may be able to join, but will definitely be able to help organise it. 👍

Sunday afternoon in what time zone? I am not staying up until 3 in the morning just to play Gran Turismo. Just sayin'.

Sounds sorta like the premium racing that we do almost every week.

That does sound fun! Weekends are always a nightmare for me, but if you do a few I might be able to run a couple.

I suppose any time anyone can make it the race can be held. I was online today testing it out with some Hong Kong racers and we had a blast. Dirty or clean, it's mad trying to race the little things!

UK time. I think China time would mess with everyone's schedule a bit. :)

I think I might join in as well. This will probably improve my wheel-pedal skills since I swapped from the DS3 to DFGT a week ago. The Sunday time is perfect for me.

I'll be online from around lunch for a few hours GMT so if you can get online just look for the room marked Fiat 500 rally and let me know it's you so I don't assume you're a random internet dude. ;)

I'm looking forward to getting my own wheel soon. This racing would be a great way to break one in.

A little bump to say I'm currently on-line in the open lobby in a Chamonix room titled Fiat 500 250PP race and will be for the next few hours in case anyone would thinking of joining. 👍

That sounds like fun, I should at least give it a try. :)

I'm in GMT +1 DST, which makes GMT +2, and the races being on Sunday I'd have no problem with the time. Mind you though, I totally blow at online racing and I doubt the rather slow car will make up for that... :D
Also, I currently don't have a wheel... But if all these things don't really matter I'd be glad to join :)

See you around,

That is never an issue, skill level, nor is having a DS3 because that's what I'm currently using. ;)

I'll have a room open this weekend (29th/4) from around 2PM GMT for anyone who wants to come in and race.

Track selection is open to any suggestions and hopefully as time goes by the little 500 Rally could end up with plenty of members tearing up tarmac in the little Fiats. :)

That sounds good!

But, just for clarification, it says we need a Fiat 500F '69. I see the '68 in the new car dealership. Is there a '69er in the UCD that we need? If so, I don't have one of those, I'm afraid :nervous:

Erm...maybe that's my mistake. It should be the Premium one from the NCD, if that's the '68 then that is it. The 500f it should be.

Thanks for pointing that out, boy, do I feel silly!

Yep, the '68 is the one from the NCD. No worries! Thanks for clarifying :)

This sounds like a lot of fun, I'd love to join in!

Sunday after lunch should be a good time for me... as long as it's before 4pm GMT sometimes. I could really use this to brush up on my rally skills... or rather, develop some rally skills!

Well, the plan is that it'll begin after lunch and then continue for a few hours so everyone can have a laugh.

This is actually a cool idea. 👍 It would be really fun to race in dirt and snow with Fiat's!

Room will be open at 2pm GMT, look here for the room number or go into the lobby and look for 500 Rally as a room name. All welcome. :)

Room is now open and will be for the next few hours. Come along and enjoy!

:( I couldn't make it. Really sorry, but there's been lots of work. Would be cool if somebody posted a summary of today's happenings, though :) I'll try to get on next week.

Only just noticed this but this looks like fun.
Any room for me?

You missed it by about 24 hours!

There is always room for anyone. Unfortunately last night only a few race took place so it wasn't too much fun.
