Further explanation of the theme, as described by CCShaft7:

"The title refers to the film - links (here) and (here) - from the 70's and I happen to be a bit of
a fan of, long before the OTT stuff of the Fast & Furious films this was a very seminal car chase
film of its time and sits happily along side Bullitt as possibly one of the best of its time/genre.
Toscana seems appropriate as it gets for the film setting and you can really stretch those
editing skills. Oh and no stationary shots..... want that speed feeling."

CAR: Dodge Challenger R/T ’70 (White would be preferable but not vital).
LOCATION: Toscana (all versions dirt/tarmac).

Please, ensure you read and understand all requirements for this competition. Failure to follow
the rules may result in disqualification. If you have any questions, please, send me a Private Message.
This Thread has everything you need to know.
  • There must be at least some detail of the background (location) visible in the picture that
can later be identified to be part of the location specified in the theme. If the location is
not immediately clear from the picture you must provide the exact location if it's queried.
  • Only one entry per user allowed. It must be that user's own work and never used in another
    competition.
  • Do not ask other members to choose your entry.
  • Entry post must be marked with a FINAL ENTRY text.
  • Entries may only be changed once and it must be indicated clearly.
  • Entries must be posted in either thumbnail or a preview. We recommend you to link either
    to it's full size.
  • Posts containing bigger previews than allowed, full sizes or links only will be ignored.
  • Previews should not exceed the limit of 500px in either direction and have any effect not present
    in the original image.
  • It's recommended the usage of a free image hosting service, such as ImageShack, Photobucket
    or Flickr.
  • If you want your entry to have a link to your full sized image in the poll, make your preview
a link to the full sized photo.
  • Only the Judge's favorite 15 entries will get through to the poll.
  • Keep in mind that the Host of this competition may ask for the original image and it must
    be submitted if so.

It's recommended to store the original image (from the USB stick) until competition week ends.

What you may not to do a photo:
  • Alter the geometry of the car. No stickers, or body modifications not available in game.
  • Add shapes or objects from outside of GT5, signatures excepted.
  • Remove items from shot (scenery, other cars).
  • Use more than 1 image (HDR, photo-stitching, multi-exposure).
  • Add effects that make the picture look something other than a photograph.
What you may do to a photo:
  • Crop and/or resize an image.
  • Adjust the level or curve values.
  • Alter the colour tone of the image (gradient maps, photo filters, colour balance, etc).
  • Adjust brightness, contrast, exposure, shadow/highlights.
  • Enhance shadows or highlights (dodge and burn tools in Photoshop, for example).
  • Add noise and/or diffuse glow.
  • Add a post-game tilt-shift blur, or apply a motion blur to a stationary Photo Travel shot.
  • Make use of Layer Blend Modes.
  • Use a Sharpening filter and/or tool.
  • Scale or enlarge rims.
  • Remove or modify license plates.
  • Remove the GT watermark.
  • Add a personal signature.
  • Clean up or fix jaggies, texture pixelation, or colour separation.

this car is jaggie hell for me, all its chrome trim looks like hell (jaggies everywhere) not sure I can even get an entry in that'll look ok. For a premium car, its edges aren't that great.

guess I actually have to photoshop this one.

^^^ Wow.

I may take part in this. Will post something soon. Love this movie! In fact I just purchased a 1:64 scale diecast version of a '70 R/T Challenger so I can make a diorama with it. 👍

FINAL ENTRY

This is going to be very good week.

I still think the car chase in Bullitt is one of my all time favorite car chases.

Working on my entry now!

FINAL ENTRY
Orange October

Click for Lightbox!
This is my only entry as I'm off to Korea.

@ McZachenF1138 - just a heads up - though it's a really nice shot, CCShaft7 does state in the description "no stationary shots... want that speed feeling". ;)

Yeah, snypir had already PM'd me telling me that. Luckily though I ended up shooting some more later and had already planned on changing my entry. Thank you though.

EDIT: Changed my entry. :)

Oh ....I am so feeling this movie :D Makes me wanna dust off this DVD at the weekend for a bit of retro tyre burning action.

Loving everything so far guys, keep em rolling in 👍

@Croooooow - Great shot ......sadly there may be a problem on a technicality with the 2nd chase car being in a CCCL. Can def see what you was going for there and you pulled it off excellently. Nato may need to confirm if its ok or not but my experience has always been no other cars allowed in shot in this comp :guilty:

CCS7 is correct, CCCL requires that only the Certain Car may be used in the shot, some judges allow multiples of the Certain Car but different cars are not allowed.
We did have one week where the judge specified that other cars could be in the background as long as they weren't focused but that was an exception to the rule and one I allowed as it suited the theme which was basically LMP.

I agree that yours is a great shot Crooooooow, but unfortunately you will have to change it. :(

Could you spare an exception for just this one time, please CC?! I don't believe I can live with myself if you reject my entry.

Your picture is great Crooooooow :) But it's up to the judges/rules to decide. I thought of include a 2nd car in the "chase" too but I ended up not to do it.
