Not possible live in the online lobby as the only view is from outside the car.
In GTA you could download a ghost replay from the top 10 and then play it back yourself with any view and/or chase the ghost in your own laps. That feature is only available offline and the WRS TT replays which are posted each week could be used for that purpose already. It would be awesome if there was a ghost feature online, but there isn't.
Also, "micro lag" makes it very difficult to comment on exact brake/accelerator timing except for the most obvious things like "you are going into the corner way too hot and waiting too long to get in the gas".
Sharing brake markers, shift points and gears used for each corner is a pretty obvious way to help. If demand is there we could try to get a D1 driver to run a few lap race and save their replay and upload a video of their best example lap during that run. It would be important to get the drivers own replay as any replay of an observer would have micro-lag.
I could assist in converting the replay to video, but it would have to be an NTSC replay.
Another service that could be provided is to have one of the participating academy drivers submit a race replay and record one of their laps, upload the video post to thread and have people discuss, critique and make suggestions. We could get a list of volunteers that want their lap analyzed (make sure you are ready for constructive criticism) and pick a couple volunteers each week and rotate. Again, I would assist from the video capture standpoint with the NTSC requirement maybe someone with a PAL capture device could help out with other replays.
I could commit to one or two laps recorded, uploaded and posted each week. It's somewhat time consuming, but I think it would help.
Might be fun to do a before and after lap side by side to show the improvement.
