This weeks theme will be "Know your roots" as chosen by week 10 winner PunkRock.

Further explanation of theme:

Any car/track combination from the original GT.

Winner will select the top 10 for the poll and pick the theme for the following week.
Post your final entry in red letters. Such as Final Entry
A preview image may be used, but it may be no bigger than 300*400 pixels by either photo orientation.
You may have two honorable mentions if a preview image is not used.
You may change your Final Entry once. If if you do so, please edit your original entry make a new post linking to it.
Do not use an entry from a previous competition.
Do not post more than three photos in this thread.
Only one entry may be submitted, and it must be uploaded using Imageshack and have the thumbnail picture.

Resize
Levels
Brightness/Contrast
Hue/Saturation
Blur filters
Noise filters
Sharpen filters

Tools:
Type tool
Sharpen tool
Burn tool
Dodge Tool
Blur tool
Clone Stamp Tool (for removing watermark)

[Note:No plug-ins for any of the above adjustments or filters are to be used]

You can use layers for overlay and layer adjustments, but not to alter the geometry and original subject matter of the picture: like
adding stickers and body kits, and objects that are not in the original image

I like this idea...one question though.

What if the car was in GT1 but looks different? Example: FTO LM was in GT1 but had different paint scheme, does that count?

I know there are a few cars from the original models that have alot of jaggies like the supra, it might take a while to clean those up.....that should kill some time.

If you can get a green or black one, I don't mind.

In fact, aside the RX7 LM and the Viper GTS-R, all the original "LM" cars still found in the game are elligible.

I thought about putting this theme up a while ago when I won my first comp, but I did'nt think people would like it. I think it's a great theme. I wish there was a blue 96' Viper GTS Coupe in GT4! That was my favorite car in GT1. HMMMMM, something at Trial Mountain...

The Forest was in, yup. 👍 Only a small amount of tracks were in the original, and only 160 cars or so.

Just a query... If there is a car in GT1, which was, say a '96 version... are we allowed to use the ''same model shape'', but made in a higher year (such as a '99 version)? :scared:

If it looks the same, yes, I don't see why not. If it's like the 300ZX, with apparent body changes through the years, I wouldn't consider it "the same"

Well, when I think of GT1, I think of the old race series I used to enjoy so much. And while the Viper might not be around in its old form, I did remember something else:

The Normal Car Series

So I rounded up what cars I could through numerous Family Cups re-entries, and finally ended up with a '97 NSX, '96 RX-7 RZ, and a '96 STi. The original Round 1 was at Autumn Ring Mini II, so incase anybody's wondering, that's where the pics are from as well

. I'm pretty sure those are the years of the old GT1 models, so unless I get more time this week, here's my

Haha! Very good. This was the very same Idea I had in mind (Except mine consists of just 1 car). Those were some good times though. I use to just race round one continuously (50,000cr for 1st)... so I must find a way to create a Viper with blue & White stripes for my pic... or just plain red.
...I'm just getting carried away now.

'00 Castrol Supra? Is it close enough? The list from previous page does not mention the year of that car in GT1...?
