Congrats to all those who could reach safely the end of the lap, with or without slipstreaming. Not many replays are requested this week (4 only), but I hope many more will be posted. And strange thing : 2 submissions only in div3, which make the gold/silver/bronze not applicable.
Congrats again

Lol does it mean I sitll have to submit a replay? And why does the thread have (soon) in it?

Oh and even on the sport medium tires, holl still beat me! i had an 8'23.xxx

Yay for my first, first place in div 2

I used the 1999 toyota MR2

Here are the pics that quati has posted about his lap, and which I had cut before they were breaking the no car discussion rule.

Way to step up and bring down the times D2 drivers! If Dan had taken the week off we'd have the unprecedented D2 overall win!

Looks like I need to brush up on the Nurb...

Yeah, even on normal tyres your submitted time is faster than anyone else in div2.
...and the thread is named (soon) because I post it before it actually contains the results. I remove the (soon) when post #1 is edited, and this week I had to add the available car list and the car each driver was using.

To those who will check replays : the last column of the table shows what power should be displayed in the replay introduction screen, since it can actually be different from the power shown in the race itself. Remember when you check that tyres have to be normal ones.
👍

I'll have to admit to doing that. It took ages to find an AI setting which allowed it (+10 and S1's worked for me in the end). I found the MR2 S Edition virtually undriveable and concluded the S probably stood for Slippery  I seriously have no idea how Stroker managed to run so fast with it.

Congrats on the win Stroker; especially after the tyre mix up. 👍 I guess you really are a 'Ring' specialist. That time is worthy of Div1.

Here's my replay (PAL) :

Voted Fab.....I loved it!

Even tho I ran out of 'spare' time in the end.

Would have been mid to high D2 pack, with the MR2 (pity it can't be bought in France!)
Wanted to post a criptic post with a reference to my sh:t car all week, but only Cyril, the other French drivers, and the Top Gear fanatics may have got the joke!

Congrat's to all as per!

I loved this combo too, but due to testing the future races I didn't have enough time to ran a clean and decent lap. I had T3 between 2'13 and 2'16 when I could reach T3 (which was pretty rare).

And the MR2 can be bought in France too, it's just named MR instead, because as you say Neil, when you speak M-R-2 in french it sounds almost like the french word for ****, and Toyota thought that would harm the sales.

Hmmm, I was expecting a better place with my lap. :indiff:

Oh well, them's the breaks.

Well done to everyone who competed. 👍

Here's my replay. :)

Thank-you Cyril for explaining the sh:t out of my little joke!

Was betting a tenner with the missus, on the number of the guys who didn't get it and asked the question!

Spoil-sport!
Never-mind, Humph!:)

Didn't even come close to my first post...damn daylight savings :sly:

I may have been able to find another second if stretched but I'm pretty happy with my time, looking forward to seeing some replays, some ultra fast laps out there

Here's my replay 👍

P.S After my narrow victory over you the other week VT looks like you got your revenge :sly:

Well, I get 1st place in 3rd division by default I guess -- but no Gold... :ouch:

I was unable to keep up with the AI car all the way to the end, so I was never able to draft down the long straight. I found that +7 with SM tires was about the best for me. +6 was too slow, and +8 would lose me before T3. With the +7 setting, I usually lost him between T5 and T6...

I voted 3 in the poll, not 4 -- only because I didn't like having to scour the car dealerships to find cars that qualified. I would've voted a four if there had been a list of qualifying cars -- even if we still couldn't discuss which car we were using for the actual race, having a list of qualifying cars would've been nice. I did enjoy the "mystery" of not knowing what the others were racing, but I didn't enjoy having to go through a long search for qualifying cars... (*EDIT* I only found 6 of the 12, by the way -- I only knew about two different MX-5's, the two MG's, and the two MR2's. But all the cars that I tested just didn't handle as well, in my opinion, as the MR2-V that I chose to race with. Apparently I wasn't alone in that opinion -- a large majority of the racers used the MR2-V.)

So, here's my replay. (NTSC) Enjoy!

BTW, wasn't the Fiat Barchetta a viable option this week? I tested it but didn't like it...

I voted Good. Liked it but was too much work to get the "right" race.

This week at ElCap looks promising!

BTW, I'd like to know what car everyone chased and their AI Settings this week.

I had +10/Sport Medium. NSX Coupe. Only got the draft for the front half of the track though. Bugger got away on the back side. Thing is, it was PERFECT for my pace in the front half so a slower car would've just gotten in the way on the front half and pass/repass would've been aggrevating.

-SHig

The Barchetta has a displacement of 1746cc, 4cc too short to fit the requirements. I didn't include it because I thought an FF wouldn't have a chance against the FR or MR.

Yes Sig, the Fiat was avail. I didn't like it either :indiff: maybe on a flatter course it would've been fun, but the gearing was wrong for me. Doh, you're right Cyril :)

👍 👍 to all those on the podium
very nice times 👍 to the aliens amoungst us :D
Can't believe my time hit podium :yuck:
Loved the combo hunting this past week Cyril 👍
Challenging as always
gave it a 4

Some pics of my fastest lap:

Just shows how good the top guys really are, I tried all those cars but found the MR2 V fastest and most comfortable for my style (I found the MX5 oversteered too much, sending me into the barriers).

A silver time for my first race at the toughest track in the world, w00t! :dopey:

Damn!

If I had been able to submit a time, 'we' would have had 3 silver's and at least 1 Gold.

Go the Brit's!

Nice one Suzie! Espescially for your first week!

By the way I'm Neil (From Carlisle, Cumbria), Nice to say Hello!
(BTW If Kolyana (Natalya) returns to the fold, She's only a plastic-septic. She hales from the North of England too!)

I had the same problem -- the MR2-V was the only car I could drive without losing the rear-end every few turns.

Congrats on your excellent first-week finish!

Thankies - must say congrats to everyone who took part this week.

 Cool 3rd overall, got beat out by having to hit the brakes in the twisty parts to keep it on the road :scared:
Fast time was a 8'24.xxx but turned out dirty by 1 tire in the grass :ouch:
Ran the Mazda Miata 1800cc 04' with 10% weight and 0%hp increase - i think it could of been 1 more % in the horsepower settings by the graph 🤬 which would of lowerd my times a slight amount over the course. :ill:
Congrats to the posium finishers - here's champaigne in you eyes :sly:

Ran w/ the NXS +10AI setting w/ hard N's, while i had the soft ones. Could easily keep up till T5 where it ran away and hid. Always held me up at T3 and had to feather the gas to keep from running into him. On one run passed him at the real tight hairpin just before T4 and was ahead by over a second at T4 then he caought up to me and ran me off the road just before the sharp right at T5. Would of been able to draft him down the back straight if he hadn't.
The trick to the miata was to anti drift except on certain turns, early breaking and early on the gas and drive it around the turns made a huge diff. in time.

Here's my replay - if its the wrong one let me know

I thought I would be alone in choosing the MR2 V. I thought I was onto a winner, and had likely found a car that no-one else had.

I was sure everyone else woulbe tooling around in FR MX5's, no match for my MR!

I couldn't have been more wrong. :dopey:

Well, I knew from the way times were looking that I was probably one of only a few drivers who'd stick with my beloved Miata! Some more pics, some race pics & my replay. :D

Inside our real one! Passing the AI!
Bye bye AI! Hard on the brakes!
Pushing hard through Bergwerk! Heading up to the Karussell! On the long backstraight! Note the wooden handbrake handle! ;)
Crossing the finish line! 9.568s ahead of the Mazdaspeed 6! :P

Don't worry Neil,

I did it "proper" British style! ;) Different to the rest of you and proudly Bronze all the way! :P
You can call me "Eddie The Eagle"!!!

Got to love being unique! :D

I'll be back up at the more precious end of the Div2 table for week 51 hopefully!

That's so funny, Chris -- that's exactly what I was thinking... I tested out all the cars I could find that qualified, and I liked the MR2-V the best. I was thinking I would be the only one to choose it... :)

Laurence5905
So what, exactly, is "proper" British style? ;)

Perhaps it's the old "stiff upper lip" trait we Brits have...

... kinda like this bloke ---> :dopey:

I hope we don't all go 'round looking like that while we drive! :boggled:
