Another multiple car race this week, very similar to week 48.
We have 2 cars, 2 versions of the same track, and each one of us will have to choose which car he/she will drive on which version of the track.
To explain things as simply as possible :
you can practice all 4 combos (Buick@forward ; Mercedes@reverse ; Buick@reverse ; Mercedes@forward), but you can only submit one of the following :
  • Buick@forward + Mercedes@reverse
  • Buick@reverse + Mercedes@forward
The ranking in the end of the week will be based on the aggregate time.

Week 69 : Buick GNX '87 and Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5 - 16 Evolution II '91
@ Apricot Hill Raceway forward
and reverse

First to post...

...YEAH!!!! I beat you at something Brad...in your face!!! :)

First Post.

Looks like A good'un. Although the Buick is kinda sucky

(And that's the only thing you'll ever beat me at Colby....)

just tried the buick....its actually pretty good....pretty fast with not-too-bad handling...you can get to 200 km/h in third gear....

the only bad thing about it is that it only has 4 gears...and the gears are separated faaaaaaaaar apart

Buick (Forward)

T1 14.556
T2 31.321
T3 1.03.299

MercBenzEvII (Reverse)

T1 26.323
T2 59.362
T3 1.15.531

Buick+Merc= 2.18.830

Didn't try the other way around, but I dont think the Buick @reverse would be any good.

My buick (forward) beat the Benz (reverse) barely.

This sounds like some good ole fun. Unlike open-weeks or ages-long (but fun) rallies.
Just re-did the final IA Pacecar test - same car, the Benz EvoII.

Always wanted to try an ugly american muscle from the dark ages of design. GNX is perfect!

Woohoo! An arcade mode race, which I have both of the right cars for, and I'm on the same continent as my PS2 for a change! Looks like I might get a WRS run out for the first time in about 20 weeks! 👍

13th reply, unlucky number :(

I'd rarther it be 1 car, but hey, I don't paticulary hate either of them.

After a bit of testing with the Buick on forward, I came up with these.

T1 - 15.028
T2 - 33.102
T3 - 1'06.596

I sacrafised getting into the 14.xxx's at T1 for a faster T2, I'll be posting some better times later.

Those are forward splits, George.

One of the cars
Forward
14.621
31.553
1'04.055

The other car
Reverse
26.525
59.509
1'15.503

Div 2 - DFP

Y'know, I have in the past watched nutters race motorised couches, sheds, etc round a track and wondered what it would be like.............

Having given the GNX a quick go, now I do! :D

Good fun though

Neil

First session (5 laps in total : 1 on each combo except GNX / reverse, 2 laps.)

190E / forward :
T1 = 14.540
T2 = 31.683
T3 = 1'04.792

Now the Brick... Sorry, Buick
T1 = 15.419
T2 = 33.242
T3 = 1'06.724

190E / reverse
T1 = 27.498
T2 = 1'01.091
T3 = 1'18.235

GNX / reverse (updated)
T1 = 27.368
T2 = 1'00.662
T3 = 1'17.452

To make things simple for Colby, my best pair of laps is 190E/forward + GNX/reverse and the times are :
T1 = 14.540 + 27.368 = 41.908
T2 = 31.683 + 1'00.662 = 1'32.345
T3 = 1'04.792 + 1'17.452 = 2'22.244

Ok, gave these 3 laps each combo.

Buick reverse
T1 27.495
T2 1'00.675
T3 1'17.613

Buick forward
T1 14.708
T2 32.092
T3 1'04.387

Merc reverse
T1 27.116
T2 1'00.430
T3 1'17.067

Merc forward
T1 14.630
T2 31.341
T3 1'03.795

Pretty even really, but the best combo by 0.043 is: Buick Reverse+Merc Forward

27.495+14.630=42.125
1'00.675+31.341=1'32.016
1'17.613+1'03.795=2'21.480

Needs more work, obviously, but not too shabby for a first session.

Neil

I don't know if I'll have the time to make anything. But I'll see what I can do.
But I think it's a really cool WRS this week, nice Flat-Out.:D

Well i'm out, the WRS just does not sound fun anymore.
But I might come back someday, so bye for now.

guess i am off for this week as well...seems that i have more important stuff for me to do instead of GT4ing day and night (have to prepare for dental and pharmacy exam....though they wont be held until late october (pharmacy) and early november (dental)...its better to get some study done when i have my 3-week vacation...)

....and also i want to get NFSMW done....

Wow. Lets play a game. I'm thinking of something that sucks, it starts with 'B' and ends with 'Uick'. Anyone want to play?

I don't think I'm even going to try it the other way. The Buick just sucks to hard to go on the more technical reverse circuit.

Anyway, about 15 minutes in each car.

Buick - Forward
T1 - 14.645
T2 - 31.361
T3 - 1'04.123

Merc - Reverse
T1 - 26.312
T2 - 59.070
T3 - 1'15.579

Missed the apex on the downhill left after T2. So I was out of line all the way to T3. Hence the bad T3 time.

Flat-Out
Another multiple car race this week, very similar to week 48.
What a great week that was. I liked it how I had Dan beat, and opened my big mouth and he went out a resubmitted a faster time. That was a laugh....

i like how in the photo you put the cars into an orientation apprapo to the week number.

Clever...red tick for king of the dirty minds :sly:

Yeah that did make me laugh ;)

My first splits:

Forwards: Buick
T1: 0`14.627
T2: 0`31.321
T3: 1`03.401

Reverse: Mercedes
T1: 0`26.167
T2: 0`58.884
T3: 1`14.980

Ahhhhh!!!! It's good to be back in Arcade mode 👍

Board Updated (Yeah that's right...I'm the King!)

I missed the week 48 elise/silvia race by about a month so I've been waiting for something like this to come up, thanks Cyril. 👍

Mercedes......:drool:
Bri...Buick.....:yuck:

Off to the PS2 then.

Darren.

2 laps in merc

26.430
59.498
1'16.331 (bombed it well sideways in here)

heaps of time to make up yet...

after 2 laps in the buick i am half a a sceond quicker than i was in the merc...

14.894
31.825
1'04.082

and still plenty of time to be made up on the Buick as well

for the leaderboard - 2'20.413
