:: GT4 WRS Week 88 ::
Well, I chose a race title linked to the steward rather than to the race. While Colby takes a nap on the Queensland's beaches, I'm dusting off the GT4 disc nearly 2 months after my last race (with no major withdrawal symptons I must say), and I'm putting Metal Gear Solid 3 and Guitar Hero II back on the shelf... temporarily.

Had to buy the car in Sim. mode, which broke me.

Very strange but fun car. Strange suspension settings seems to cause some unusual handling, and very bad rear wheel spin. I thought this car was AWD, but it still smokes the tires from a dead stop in second gear, even with 420 gears....

EDIT: Okay, maybe not, looks like the car is Front wheel drive, very interesting. Well for a 300 HP front wheel drive car, it handles pretty damn good, as usually the limit for front wheel drive cars is around 250HP. It rotates pretty easily, but lights up the front two tires upon exiting like nobody's business. The long 270 degree right hander is downright painful in this car. That corner is going to be the hardest, as it's impossible to power through there.

Gear ratios should be interesting on this challenge, as well as if people use driving aids, mainly the TCS. I did a few laps with TCS, and for awhile I couldn't beat my best after turning it off, but ended up with this after a few laps. While lower gear ratios give better point A - to point B speed, all that is a wash when you try to power out of slower corners, as all that time gained just goes up in tire smoke...

Top Speed: 290
Tires: Mediums All Around
Transmission: Manual
Driving Aids: None

T1: 26.076
T2 1:00.514
(no T3 times)

Division: 2
Controller: Driving Force Pro

cyril, glad to see you back alive and kicking. like the wrs week title a lot and the fact you pick a domestic car for your temp return. as for the track, it is one i didn't care for much in the beginning but after having visited it lots of times for wrs, it grew on me and now i really like it.
first t's will be in very soon :) , tho i do have to cook christmas dinner in my restaurant for about 100 guests sooner :grumpy:
upstarting my ps2 now enjoying the new beatles love album that i really like - in fact the first album i ever owned by them.

EDIT a first fiddle with this car ... tcs definitively on for me this week. 250 was too much, so now i'm at 220 which works fine for me. lifting is the word this week rather than braking - to me anyway.

26.815 - 1.01.779

already got 1.2 off the laptime by altering the topspeed from 250 back to 220.

wooot wooot...

my first wrs battle :)

welll till now i got this with tcs on and medium tyres all around

T1 = 25.778
T2 = 1'00.817

well i can shave some time of the t2 and i will :)

Cant resist a Rally car on Tar :) will find some time to get a few laps on this for sure 👍

btw ... I hope everyone had a nice Chrimbo ;)

Now this should be a fun battle... No aids for me. Funny though, this car seems to have no torque at all. I really like the handling. Doesn't feel like a FF, except during wild power-out in 2nd. Other than that, it oversteers when you need it...

240 TopSpeed, RM/RH - I'll try RM/RM in a minute, once I'll get to know the car.

0'26.580
1'02.044 (I don't know the T2 sector very well...)

Fun car. Leaderboard'll be up in a jiffy.

0'26.007 (:P)
1'01.140

hmm.. im taking that corner flat out on 220 ... but prolly ur exit is better e? :P

I can't, either - I settled for 230, which gives just enough for my crappy exits.

And Marouan, I'll need your division for the leaderboard. Please run the WRS Qualifier, and submit it to Flat-Out (He's the temporary steward until MisterWeary returns), in order to get your division an be able to compete in the WRS.

Anyone using 3rd? I used it on the 270-er, and both sharp-corners (first, and the one after T1). I could probably shave some time off if I let those go...
Gone back to RM/RM, it's much more stable.

Leaderboard Updated, Famine-Style.

hmm.. i cut like 0.4 of my end time but both my t1 and t2 are slower ... :S

driving with ds2 btw

@ Gingibe.. i sent them to misterweary.. my bad.. sending them to flat out now .

Cant resist a Rally car on Tar :) will find some time to get a few laps on this for sure 👍

I thought the same so I did few laps...

25.2??
59.2??

...then I remembered what it was like to drive...

...frustrating.

I may have another go later in the week.

arghh:) have to wait until tomorrow! have to buy me a maxdrive, dont got credits for bying the car:) i have driven the game to 99.9 % done a few times and then i delete it all and restart all over again! and this last time was unfortunate when i found this site:ouch: hehe but will be o it later this week

happy drivin all:tup:

keeping it at

T1 = 25.778
T2 = 1'00.817 For now..

too be updated :P

need to make a drift vid .. so gonna work on that now

25.695/59.830

Using 420,with some nice wheelspin.:dopey:
TCS is so slow with this car,feels if someone is braking all the time.

This one is holding my interest. Pretty tricky w/out the driving aids but I am sticking with it...

25.720
59.907

Good to see you around again, Cyril. 👍

hmmm, i realy dont like this car:)

Hmm one question though!

in the spec when it says racing (medium) or harder, i cannot use softer than that?

/simvision

The specs say Racing Medium or harder, so you can use Racing Super Hard, Racing Hard or Racing Medium tyres.
No Racing Soft or Racing Super Soft are allowed.

in the spec when it says racing soft or harder, I must be 100% sure that i can use super soft/ or is soft the hardest to have?

Medium, or harder. Not Softs and Supersofts... I guess those super-fast splits are with Soft?

EDIT: Whoops, got beat by Super-Flatty.

Improved my time by 2 seconds.

T1: 0'26.866
T2: 1'02.495

EDIT: I'm getting used to the DFP now, just cut nearly another 2 seconds off! Here's my splits.

T1: 0'26.474
T2: 1'01.769
