Oh dear lord :ill: (I fixed the links for you, btw... you only need the 'code' after the = sign in the URL...)

As for bad covers, 'Rocket Man' by Kate Bush is simply dreadful. If there was any justice in the world, Kate Bush should have been made to defend this version from behind inch-thick glass in The Hague...

Someone should have fired her into outer space for this...

As far as poor covers go, you'll struggle to find a band with a worse good:bad cover ratio than Nouvelle Vague.

Warning- musical bloodbath.

Love Will Tear Us Apart

Blue Monday

OMG She's butchered Blue Monday. I love that song by New Order and the cover Orgy did was damn good, but this is painful.

Ten Masked Men- Discography

Although that's kind of the point.

The first sentence of their wiki is this:

"Ten Masked Men is a British death metal cover band who specialize in 'destroying' pop 'classics'. "

Chris Cornell's cover of Wacko Jacko's Billie Jean is one that you'll either love or hate. Personally, I love it.

The worst cover I've ever heard is the U2/Mary J. Blige cover of One. But then again, I suppose that if anyone's allowed to ruin a U2 song, it's U2 themselves.

Hmmm. I like the professional covers. Even if I don't care for it personally, I still find them interesting. But the first two covers in the original post. People like that have no business singing in front of public. Can't they at least sing in the right key..... or at least close to it?

Ahhh!!! Nouvelle Vague totally ruined the song! I can't believe how she sang F.O.B.'s "Love would tear us apart". It was so freaking horrible that i stop listening and started to vomit!:yuck: Her voice is good but please, the song never really match her voice. How can she sing an Emo song with a voice of an angel? (or a little girl whichever way you look at it....doesn't matter, she sucks!) And the backing vocalist was singing like a toad....totally awful!

You err... realise Fallout Boy's version was a cover too?

The original 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' was by Joy Division.

Lol...i didn't know that, but i think Fallout Boy's cover was much better imo....

Infidel!

Personally, I think the F.O.B cover is worth a spot in this thread too. :D

Blue Monday

This is why Blue Monday is an 80's disco song. You simply can't remake it.
Not my cup of tea
Dilana - Ring of Fire

Cash must be spinning in his grave.

As for the video of the Nirvana, we had a thing we did for kids like that at our talent shows.

It's called BOOING. We did it to a band who tried to play "Rock You Like a Hurricane" which had a great guitarist, but a piss poor singer.

This is one of the worst covers I've heard, though.

Awful. Even bigger reason I hate this band. Good thing their 15 minutes of fame died years ago.

The hair metal Version of Cat Stevens' Cats in the Cradle was pretty bad, although I can't remember who to send the brick and threatening letter to... :boggled:

I have to say, I quite liked the sound of Metallica's Mercyful Fate, which was a medley of five songs by the band of the same name. Then I worked out what Hetfield was actually singing about and my like for the song decreased considerably.
Infidel!

Personally, I think the F.O.B cover is worth a spot in this thread too. :D
Anything by Fallout Boy is worth a mention here, even if it isn't a cover.

I think this is worth a mention as well....

I mean,is this bad or what.....

I don't think Alien Ant Farm qualifies. It's far to high quality a cover. The pink floyd cover above, however, is just horrific. I was trying to find a really bad pink floyd cover I heard recently, but the one above is far worse.

Madonna - American Pie.

If you're going cover a song...don't.

I second that one. I'll bet that when Don McLean first heard it he was drinking whiskey and rye and singing "this'll be the day my song died..."

I'd also like to add that airhead blonde version of a Bryan Adams song. Can't remember the title but it's either "Heaven" or it has something to do with heaven. Not that I am a particularly big fan of Adams, but this girl just sucked all the life out of the song. My PC shows more emotion. When it's switched off.

This one?

That would be DJ Sammy. Far from the worst cover in existence.

I also like "Oh My God" by Mark Ronson featuring Lily Allen, which was mentioned further above.
