This is why Rappers need to get hell away from rock n' roll.

:eek::eek:... I simply cannot believe I just saw that. Gn'R is on the top 2 of my favorite bands of all time, and velvet goes ahead and allows this. OMG...
Axl, why did you have to be such and asshole and split the band, we miss you 👎

This is blasphemy... This is madness... This is..

It ain't Sparta. *chokes*

"Rap-(music) personal lyrics sung with no melody to a syncopated beat." (Source- Webster's Dictionary and Thesaurus) That video does not even fit the definition of rap music.

I was at the train station a few weeks ago and this Lilly Allen cover appeared on the TV there...

It's not the worst cover I've heard, but the worst I've heard in a while. It has nothing on the original by Kaiser Chiefs.

I thought that the Pussycat dolls tainted love was terrible but the marilyn manson one was pretty good.

Ya not as bad as the trash you guys are posting but it's still pretty bad in my book.

Yeah, but they're not a real band. They're actually employed into the group, and tey sign a contract for however long and get paid a wage. Most of the profits actually go to the producer, the guy who employs them.

2.00-2.27 on the first one vs. 2.40-3.05 on the 2nd one :ouch:
The problem with this is not so much the way All Saints perform it - although they're not very good to start with, it goes without saying - but the way the elected not to sing the final verse about being under the actual bridge itself; I think they did it because of the references to drug use. The problem with this that it removes any and all meaning from the rest of the song; without the lyrics recounting the bridge, the rest of the song is just words without physical form, no better than the usual crap bands like All Saints would sing.

Well that, and the fact that it's a direct guitar sample, AND they changed the lyrics to suit their song more. For me as RHCP obsessive it's just terrible and I hate it a lot

I mean c'mon, "The city of cities?" :irked:

Also

not worst cover but just worst song in general.

but damn shes hot

I take that back :ill:

My nomination is 'Here come the girls' by the Sugarbabes. Allow me to explain..

For anyone who doesn't live in Britain, the original version of the song was used as the music for an advert for Boots, a large cosmetics/chemist chain, and it annoyed the hell out of me. After the advert had been offending TV screens for a month two, a Sugarbabes version of the song is released. A bizarre coincidence perhaps? Well, I get the distinct impression that they cobbled together their version of the song in an afternoon, in order to make a quick buck off a (terrible) song that had become familar to our ears.

Completely shameless, and truly awful, surely a candidate for worst cover ever!

How could you talk about bad covers and not include THE one. You know...this one:

Song: Chop Suey!
Original artist: SOAD
Cover by: Avril Lavigne :nervous:

And now, a example of a GOOD cover.

Song: Kickstart My Heart
Original artist: Motley Crüe
Cover by: Between The Buried And Me

If you think that the singer is missing something, remember: He's a metal screamer. And still it can sound good singing..."normal".

I am very fond of this song : Eleanor Rigby by the Beatles.

I have yet to hear a version of this song by any other that is just as good as the original.(IMHO) this is one of those sacred songs that should not be covered.

I posted one of her doing Metallica's Fuel a few pages back. Her problem is that she's trying to punc above her weight. James Hetfield has a very limited vocal range - he's mostly in E flat (one of the reasons St. Anger sounded so poor was because everything was tuned to C instead of the usual E) - but he can do a lot with it. But Avril Lavigne simply can't get herself into the vocal range required for it. And she's done the same thing here.

I suspect she's doing it because she started out as a one-hit wonder wih Skater Boy and her career ended up in tatters with Girlfriend.

If I really needed another reason as to why she should be banned from singing that would be it.

That's not bad, cover singer just needs to leave the high pitches to Neil & the ending solo sounds @3:40 to Mars; that part sounded god awful.

I awaken this thread when I saw this on youtube...

No one can do this song as good Mike Patton... I don't know why they even tried. Oh god, its just bad.

WORST COVER EVER IN MY OPINION...is "one" by KORN. (originally by metallica) i really hate that band, and i really love metallica. they butchered that song, and they even didnt attempt to do the solo.
