Were now heading for the last 4 races of the season:)

Discuss!!

Edit

McLaren team excluded from F1 in 2007 and 2008?

The McLaren Formula One team has been excluded from the current Formula 1 season and next year's Formula 1 season the first reports from Paris say.

More information will follow shortly.

Best circuit on the calendar. Shall be an entertaining race, I love Spa, it's back and it belongs! Can the Spykers make it up the hill?

Edit: looks like Daan is talking to himself again ;)

Ignore Appie's edit. This thread is about the Belgian GP. Other stories can be discussed in other threads.

I used to really like this course, but haven't watched a race here in a while. Does the turbulent air=no passing problem happen here as much as other tracks?

More so. Lots of medium and high speed corners that the cars can't follow each other through. The Bus Stop and La Source might - might - give us a couple of passes though.

Home to the most awesome corner in F1 racing.

I love the track, I love Eu rouge, I doubt this race holds much for overtaking, but just seeing the track again is going to be great.

Nice vid of Eu rouge

Finally, one of the races I've been waiting for all year is here. I can't wait! I'm hoping Mclaren will have one of their drivers (Preferbly Hamilton) on the top step of the podium, just to lighten up their fans after Thursdays trial.

My guess is they will, as the circuit has characteristics similar to Canada and Indy - and despite those being a few months ago, it was proven last week that the MP-4/22 behaves very well on low-ish downforce circuits like that...

I, on the other hand, am hoping that Kimi will continue his streak of wins in Spa.

I wonder if anybody withdraws in protest over the FIA's decision to suspend McLaren ... they probably won't, but the whole ordeal smells funny to me.

More on-topic, it'll be interesting to see how Honda do in the wake of their excellent (for them) Italian Grand Prix.

Not overly well :indiff:

After all, in the FP1 right now, they're 3 and four seconds behind Hamilton.

Friday Practice 1:

Trackmap to match:

Well judging by his times in S2 and S3 he either, crashed and limped home, or my favourite, McLaren slashed his tyres.

Strong showing for Williams, can't read too much into Practice though.

Friday Practice 2 Results:

McLaren back on pace but... What the hell is Sakon Yamamoto doing up there?

Toyota is enjoying good practice, as usual, and as usual, Ralfie won't break Q1 and Trulli will barely scrape along in the top 10.

I'm surprised the BMWs aren't doing better, but it is only practice.

Toyota and Honda must be happy they are doing better than the other teams with their engines.

Well I am really looking forward to the race, especially after just watching last week's race today. I absolutely love Spa-Francorchamps and it is definitely one of my top three favorite circuits in the world (probably number two in my list). There is just something about the very traditional look and feel to the track; Spa has character that other circuits just do not have. 👍

Whoa, ITV have just done a run down of the changes to the circuit. I thought the only thing that was being changed was the paddock and, as a result, La Source. What on earth have they done to the pit entrance? If somebody breaks down in there, nobody is going to be able to get into the pitlane. The Bus Stop looks perhaps a little better than the old version, but that nice sweeping left after it is gone. :indiff:

I dont like the new layout of Bus Stop, or the first corner. They have moved the wall and made a big run off, i'd prefer that the wall was there so at the start 6 or 7 cars dont use that run off to gain advantage.

Still Spa has two of the best corners in F1.
