Ok, since some people seem to be confused...

Ok, now here are the new Skylines. NOT the new GT-R. Notice that it's the SAME CAR as the G35.

UMM...no. That is not the "official" GTR concept thats just another picture that was released by some computer graphics artist. the only official GTR concept is the top one. If you do some research you will find an article from nissan about an OFFICIAL press release, which says that the new GT-R will look nothing like the concept.

from the article (very bottom):
"Nissan's Ghosn acknowledged the company's 400-horsepower, GT-R super car is taking quite a while to get to market. Noting an engineering bottleneck inside Nissan, Ghosn said the company had looked at partnering for the GT-R development but later decided against it. Now, he said, work is ongoing. Ghosn expects to see a GT-R at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show, with deliveries to customers following shortly thereafter. "Our intent is to build an extreme sports car at a reasonable price," he said, adding styling changes will make the final GT-R look substantially different from the concept that was out a couple years ago. "

I hope that's not the next Silvia, the nose on that thing is ugly as hell!! I wish they would take more styling cues from the S14 or even the S15, as long as they change the S15's Pontiac like taillights.;)
 
The GTR Skyline R35 won't be out till at least late 2005 acorrding to Nissan. This is because to keep it profitable, all their engineers are working on the new SUVs and other stuff for your US market so we'll appartly have to wait a lot longer yet for the official Production-spec GTR but it is thought to be similar to that first GTR concept. It seems like it's aimed more at the 911 market so it'll be about £60000 UK, don't know what that is in US dollars.
 
People are morons. I posted this a while ago, and it was on MSN, but since people dont know how to read, ill reiterate. 1. THERE IS NO MORE SKYLINE GTR. 2. Yes, the new skyline is the G35. 3. The 'new' GTR (a completely different model) will not be out until 2007.

Several sources ahve confirmed such, and if you dont like it, thats too bad, but if you have other sources, please cite them and show us just who from Nissan is saying such. If you cant, do us a favor and dont type rubbish.

EDIT: Sorry GTR guy, I didnt see your post, as I was too angry at the ignorance of the thread-maker. Thank you for reposting what I posted and clearing it up.

Your post was proved by an official press release by nissan. All you can do is keep repeating it untill they finally learn (like training a parrot really :lol: )
 
That Slivia S16 picture is a fake thats what i heard and also Nissan offical stated that they are not going to produce any more silvia, the silvia line is dead.

That GT-R computerish drawing its not the "new" GT-R concept. There is only one GT-R concept the one shown at 2001 Tokyo Motor show which you think is the Old GT-R Concept. Too bad we wont see the GT-R until 2007 and it will look nothing like the GT-R concept.

Remember if you have any skyline question ask GTR guy ;) or any Nissan Skyline Fan Club member they should know :D
 
they both are fake duds, i have seen a diffrent version of this in another mag,why bother fugiot? :mischievous: :grumpy:

that is the real GT-R Concept. the real GT-R will come 2007 and be under infinti for us in the state. will look totally different from the concept so why bother looking at the GT-R concepts flowing around most of them is fake beside the one above but the production GT-R will look totally different from the concept. around 2006 look for a better spy shot or concept of the 2007 GT-R!

Yes ME TOO!! I love GT-R's and would take them over any car no matter what it is for now :D cant wait for the New GT-R wonder if ill take it over a R34.

Thats what I'm thinking about. One good thing is that Nissan named porsche as it's primary competitor, I guess their aiming to outperform the 911 TT. The factory anti-lag system makes it more appealing too. The only thing I care about is tunability, if the new GTR cant be as easily tuned or turns out to be ugly as hell I'll gladly pick up a used R34. By that time the prices should have dropped like a rock on both the R34 and any aftermarket parts meaning I could get more bang for my buck. Another thing I am GREATLY pleased to find is that Nissan decided not to team up with anyone else and made the GTR a Nissan only project. meaning stupid renault cant **** it up. :D
 
the engine used in the next GTR will be the VQ33DETT.

The new 3.3L alloy block V6 will use the stroke length from the VQ35 and the bore from the VQ30. It will use twin electronically assisted turbochargers, which is a first! Apparently two small electric motors will be attached to the turbine shaft spinning it at lower revs when no positive boost is being made thus eliminating turbo lag. Furthermore variable valve timing and variable valve lift will be used in order to achieve the 400ps that is predicted.

Garrett are said to have helped design the turbine anti-lag system using electronic assistance

It's set to be Japan's fastest and most advanced supercar - but look under the skin and it's Britain's brains which will power Nissan's new GT-R!

GM is rumored to reveal the faster more powerful 2005 Corvette in next years NAIAS and Ford has sped up plans to to release their GT super car. When asked in the 2002 Detroit Auto Show what he thought about this new Infiniti, GM CEO; Bob Lutz had this to say: "Its a heck of a hot rod, that we are just going to have to beat"
Rumors are that this car will be called the Infiniti X35 GT-R, but that seems to be pure speculation as of right now.


Wow!! GM is worried about GT-R.. whoa a change for once.. Not only should GM and other Manufactor American or European they will have to look foward to more powerful and faster Japanese Cars, such as GT-R, NSX, RX7, ETC... Just wait!

And it won't be by a nose, either. Yukawa's benchmark for the new GT-R is Porsche's 911 Turbo, which pumps out 309kW and is regarded by many as the best sports car in the world. Expect to see a power figure of about 300kW when the GT-R is revealed at the Tokyo motor show this year.

"The GT-R will exceed 206kW (the Japanese limit)," said Yukawa. "The Porsche 911 Turbo has about 400hp -- we're aiming for that. Porsche is my ambition."

Japanese car makers have long been suspected of exceeding the self-imposed power limit and then simply quoting 206kW (or 280hp) to keep officials happy. Now that the decision has been made to abandon the agreement, Japanese performance-car makers can get serious about challenging their European counterparts.

The new GT-R is expected to be powered by a twin-turbocharged V6 engine.

The rest of the GT-R package is a secret, though there have been clues. The styling is likely to show influences from the rakish GT-R concept car shown at the 2001 Tokyo motor show. Meanwhile, four-wheel-drive -- a signature of the model -- is a certainty.

Infiniti will begin offering an all-wheel-drive version of its hot-selling G35 sedan, fitted with Nissan's ATTESA E-TS (electronic torque split) system, in early December. Now comes word that an upcoming G35 platform mate, the Skyline GT-R, will get not only ATTESA E-TS but also a twin-turbo V-6 tuned by Cosworth. Producing in the neighborhood of 480 horsepower, the new V-6 features twin-turbo motor assist, a technology employed during off-boost periods—say, when idling—that temporarily turns the GT-R into a naturally aspirated car. Here's how it works: When off boost, magnetic valves open to form a bypass that redirects exhaust gas around the turbos and directly into the precatalysts; when on boost, the valves close and channel exhaust gas into the turbos. The net effect is a car reportedly capable of meeting strict emissions regulations around the world. Don't expect to see the GT-R, likely labeled an Infiniti when it comes to America, till 2005 or 2006.

More Nissan news

In case anyone was counting, Nissan is trimming platforms. In 1999 it had 24 platforms, with five of them sitting under 62 percent of its vehicles. It is on its way to 15 platforms by 2005, with the top five beneath 91 percent of its products. Many of those 2005s will be shared with Renault.

Good because I'd rather have a nissan than an infinity...i mean a sports car is bad enough but if it's an infinity it will be a luxury sports car meaning my ins company could rape me of more of my money....

In the Feburary issue of CAR Magazine, "Mr. GTR" Hiroshi Tamura revealed the following information when discussing the GTR project.
"Porsche 993 to 996 was a big step. Ferrari 355 to 360 was a big step. We must make an even bigger leap than that for the next-generation GT-R. What we are saying to customers is, be patient, trust us, we will make it for you".


The GT-R concept has been finalized. The new car will target the 911 Turbo as its primary competitor. The new GT-R will feature a VQ32DETT Twin-Turbo V6 engine. Estimated output will be over 480ps and over 420 lb/ft of torque .
In addition, it will also feature the improve active AWD system. The engine will be developed by a joint venture of Nissan and Cosworth. The new turbo system will feature a electronic Anti-Lag-system. Which means the turbine will be driven by an electic-powered motor when the thottle is lifted. Yes, but i think you read it wrong. They are going to label it as Infinti not Nissan. I rather have Nissan name then the infinti not only because of the ins ull have to pay but i was always like this. I rather have Honda then Acura, Nissan then Infinti, and Toyota then Lexus, I believe they should just keep it what it is in japan since it is JDM cars.

Yeah alot of things will change but i always loved the RB26DETT and im pretty upset that they will take out the Inline 6 and replace it with a V6 (more weight). They also killed the RB26DETT which upset me. Anyways I have heard rumors of a V8 do you think its true? I dont feel an enjoyment with a V8 beating other V8s you know, anyways do you think Nissan will put a V8?
 
yes you should. we need more action. :lol: Nah I don't think Nissan would ever use a V8. oops i guess I did mis read it....oh well then I guess I'll have no choice but to but a JDM one....they proably get more goodies than us anyway. They always screw us in performance.
 
I think nissan will stick to a 6 cylinder set-up because that is how skylines have always been, to put a V8 in a skyline would be an abomination.....:) I love that word.:cool:
VQ32DETT sounds good to me, even though I really like the RB26....
