I derped bad.. Was too busy skyping with my friend and didn't notice the countdown for the Q session. Thought "oops" well I'll just start last no big deal.. Then realise that it auto starts the race.

After that watched the first lap, then seen no point to do the second race. Starting from reverse pole with zero close racing practise in these, no thanks.. I'd rather not ruin the faster guys races..

NEXT WEEK. I will be back!

Next time you will pay attention. :P

You shouldn't have parked it in Race 2 Mule. Everyone had to pit to fix damage from the grand damage on lap 3.

Few notes from tonight:

1) Turn 1 at Silverstone International is not the best passing spot.
2) We're switching damage to Light to avoid pitting & the tire bug
3) Anyone that does not complete at least half distance gets no points.

Results will be up shortly.

Oh well. After getting wrecked for no reason in Race one, then finding myself boxed in ajd in everyones way in Race two, I pretty much just lost all motivation.

I just need to find more time to practice, really.

Race1 was fun. 👍
race 2 was a disaster. 👎
Getting rid of the need to pit is a good idea. 👍
I still hate reverse grids. 👎
See you next week. 👍

Fun! If a bit troublesome at times :)

Race 1 was my first ever win in a Pure event :D - Found a setup that really suited me in the hours between Room 1 and Room 2, literally gained 0.8s in setup alone. Must have been driving a real boat before

A lot of pressure to need to do consistent Quali Laps to keep Turbo, Outlaw & Doodle behind, but did it!

Race 2 was really terrible for most, I think only 5 cars came out unscathed from the first 2-3 laps, even if we were using light damage that's not good enough really. Not sure how we made it through the carnage.

Bit of a sour point was an unsuccessful pass for the lead into Turn 1 - but nevermind; most of us are racing on GT6 against each other for the first time, so will take a few races to know who you can make strong passes on and who you can't. Would definitely make the same move if given the chance again though.

Regardless, Pole, P1 and P3 isn't a bad day's work!! Could have been in the pit lane in Race 2 having fun with the Tyre Bug! :scared:

Watching the replay of the turn 5 incident on lap 3, looks like there was a lag glitch and the first 2 cars hit an invisible wall.

Results are posted, except for Brando's times/results. Need to get him swapped to the night registration. @Dr_Watson can you do that?

Oh, and if anyone that has working replays from Group 1's races today, as well as Race 1 for Group 2 can you PM me all the fast laps for everyone? My Group 1 replays are not working, and somehow I didn't get Race 1 from Group 2 even though I swear I saved it... :odd:

Just not enough front grip with the 89 Mazda but I did what I could. Not having the little track map option is a bummer because side-by-side was such a struggle. Otherwise, the first race was such a blast with me doing all I could to hang with doodle and Jason. I tried something on that last lap and I almost pulled off some awesomeness. Ended up P4.

For the second race, let's just say that I went through smoke and all but had the lead. Unfortunately, pushed too hard and had no front grip for about a lap and fell back. Something happened between Mole and Jason with a few to go, leaving me and and doodle. Then I hit a road bump on the last lap and I had to hold off Mole for P2.

Good start so far but I really need to figure out some basic tuning.

done... and if you want I have a valid replay I can put up the fast laps for you.

Cool, thanks. Give me a few to get brandofo's stuff put in.

Edit: Good to go. 👍 (I'll need brandofo's fast lap for Race 2 as well. If you can't get it with the others, I can get it in a couple hours)

BALLS
EDIT... every time i try to access the replays, my ps3 crashes -.-

Just re-register with the new car.

I find replays only work for me if I replay them right away. If I exit the game and turn the PS3 off and on again, then my replays freeze the entire console.

This appears to be the case. I just tried to watch the replays again this morning and it freezes. Very annoying glitch that I hope they fix soon. Until then, RT may just have to review all of the races right after they occur.

Ran some laps in one of the '89's and seems to suit my driving style much better, and now sending it the paint shop for a fresh coat of Old English White. As well I am going to hard wire my PS console to the modem. I was not disconnecting from PSN, just the race room.

And I've quit my job just to commit more time to this series. Thanks to R1600 Turbo for the work you put into this.

i just want to say that the sportsmanship displayed yesterday was horrible. i stated before the race started and if i remember i also stated in this thread that i was new and trying to learn. i dont appreciate being blamed for something that i was not trying to do intentionally and receiving stupid messages (tony). next race i will try my best but i am still learning, everyone was a beginner once so dont **** on the noobs

Unfortunately good sportsmanship is a lost trait in these days, especially in online games. We all have to start somewhere and some people see winning as the only goal in a "game". I may never win a race but I had great racing with Theoretician and Drift Pig.

My general rule I followed and expect others to follow is:

If you are slow, don't hit a faster car, get out of the way of a faster car.

Nothing wrong with being slow, or not ailen fast if you follow the above.

Actually in all racing leagues even multi class racing it is the job of the faster cars to avoid the slower cars.

Yeah but when the faster car has to fight the slower car that is costing him 2 or three seconds a lap it gets very frustrating. Also in multi-class racing slower car doesn't need to get out the way because the faster class can always pull away on the straight, where all our cars have equal power.

Actually in single class series like this one, it's the job of the backmarkers to keep out of the way of the leaders (hence blue flags), but that doesn't mean anyone has the right to send stupid messages to someone who gets that wrong.

Blue, just ignore the messages and in future, if you see the leaders coming, it's best to slow down at the next straight, and then continue when they've all passed. :)

I can't speak for all racing series, but in Formula 1, the Blue Flag is only used for cars that are not on lead lap.

Yeah as the_saint said "We all have to start somewhere and some people see winning only goal in the game". Honestly I'm not here to win. Just to learn and to have some fun with others with the same skill as me.

Then let's do away with reverse order in second race if the slower drivers are required to just get out of the way.

I can see this from both points of view. On one hand, if I had fought hard for the lead for 15 laps only to be slowed down by a lap car that appears to not be paying attention to those around him, I would be very frustrated too. But at the same time, putting down other racers just because you're frustrated is unacceptable. We're all here to have fun, so I think we can do better on both sides of this coin.

You're not "required to get out of the way" on the reverse grid starts. The issue was with cars that were a lap down holding up the leaders. People who start in back in the 2nd race just need to be patient and understand that those starting in the front are not on the same skill level as the others. For instance, there were a couple of occasions when I had to slow down to avoid a slower car and it cost me a few positions. But to me that's better than forcing my way through and pushing people off the track. It's about being aware of the other cars around you while making sure all of your overtakes are decisive and completed in a safe part of the track.

Basically, what it boils down to is that if you are getting lapped you need to get out of the mf way. It's that simple.

I'm all for new racers in the series as that is how we grow as an organization. But common sense is a requirement of all racers.

And this is one of the most asinine comments you could have made. You are obviously very confused.
