It has over 1000 hp with the oil change. No one gets a say in that matter.
I think I've got my braking points down. My only issue is tire wear. The thing just eats 'em up. I mean, every single lap I light up my tires at Parabolica. Every. Single. Time. Don't know if it makes a difference for the wheel users, but I sure as heck can't do anything about it with the DS3. Pretty sure I'm going to need to pit at the halfway mark, or I won't have any rubber left at the end of the race. Should be fun regardless. :)

yeah, i noticed the car spins rear rubber for hundreds of yards when you stomp it coming out of the corners. Check your rear-view

Room will be up soon. I think I'll set it up for Monza for the time being until we start up at 10. I think more people may want to come in early and practice for the more difficult of the races tonight instead of the Kart race. If there are any objections though, I can set the track for Stowe instead. :)

Edit: Room is up. ID# 1472-6118-3615-5263-2733.
I'll likely be AFK for a bit. So if you ask me something and I'm silent, that's why.

Turtle Racing League - Race Night Recap

With the semi-new Ayrton Senna content having come to GT6, the Turtles partook in the first ever Senna Tribute. All three races proved to be entertaining as well as quite challenging.

First off was the ‘78 DAP Racing Kart where Senna got his first taste of motorsport action. The race took place around the Silverstone Stowe Circuit, where the Turtles found it was quite easy to not only get a shortcut penalty, but to lose a lap in the process. The event saw BionicDerp take the pole as he shot out front at the start. However in one hectic, exciting lap, RacingOtaku86 found himself starting last on the grid to 1st place by the time the racers crossed the line for the first time. There was heavy racing among all six runners before Bionic spun early on lap 7. Racing, thinking he had gotten into Bionic stopped on track to wait up for him. He would later find out he did it in vain as Bionic would explain he lost it all on his own. There continued to be a great three or four kart battle for the lead as Bionic and Racing desperately tried to catch back up. Unfortunately for Racing, he would spin to the inside of the final corner. And in some odd glitch, despite crossing the line and posting a lap time, the track stewards decided to slap him with a 1 lap penalty. Why? Because PD. Meanwhile, there was a two kart breakaway between lightningdf22b1 and GTP_Severn, as well as a two kart battle for 3rd with Bombonito and DolphDrago. Bombo would go wide in the final corner on lap 11, and the track stewards, clearly with a stick up their rears, felt he was close enough to pit road to force him down it and into his stall. Dolph took over 3rd and slowly started to chase down the two leaders as Bionic started to lurk closely behind him. Lightning would suffer misfortune, going off course on lap 21, then being assessed a shortcut penalty on lap 23, dropping him from 2nd to 4th. Two laps later, Severn, being hounded by Dolph for the lead, would be penalized for shortcutting as well, sending Dolph to the number 1 spot. Severn continued to push Dolph very hard before finally getting one last penalty on the final corner with only 1:30 left in the race, dropping him behind Bionic. Dolph would go on to take the victory, with Bionic 2nd just a bit over 1 second behind, and Severn in 3rd. Lightning would finish only 5.5 seconds back in 4th, while poor Racing would drudge to a 5th place finish, 2 laps off the pace according to the PD officials. Bombo dropped out with a DNF in 6th.

The next race took place at 80’s Brands Hatch in the West Surrey Racing British F3, Senna’s first foray into the Formula Series. And what a wild race it was. Suffice it to say, they were many, many, many spins and offs; at least for every driver but one. Racing assumed the lead early and never looked back. Already with a hefty lead, the rest of the field battled it out way behind. Lightning ran 2nd with Dolph in hot pursuit. Dolph’s race would take a turn for the worse soon, though. On lap 6, Dolph got past a sideways lightning before promptly blowing it and spinning off course a couple turns later. One lap after that, he decided he wanted to go play in the grass some more and eventually found himself in 5th, being passed by Severn and Bionic, who had a fantastic battle of their own going. Bionic would suffer the same fate as Dolph, however. After working over Severn and finally getting the better of him, Bionic spun off course on lap 8. This allowed Dolph to take a shot at Severn. On lap 10, Severn briefly slid off track, and Dolph, trying desperately to take advantage and gain some of the ground lost in his earlier crashes, wrecked himself while going by Severn. He fell back behind Bionic, where each driver would put down fast laps in an attempt to catch back up to anyone they could. On the final lap, Dolph would loop it coming out of the hairpin that is turn 2, as well as flying off track one last time on the 2nd to last turn. Bionic took a trip to the sand in the final corner, though was safe from Dolph after his hot mess of a last lap. Racing cruised to an easy victory, while lightning finished up 2nd, a healthy, near 15 seconds in the rears. Severn avoided any more wrecks and finished 3rd. Bionic would come home 4th, with Dolph in 5th. BustedFoSho, who joined in for the second race, finished in 6th, 1 lap behind the leaders. Bombonito did not race.

Finally, the Turtles took to a very fast Monza, 80’s style. No annoyingly slow first chicane, but two slightly faster chicanes. The car of choice? A monster: one with a big ‘ol turbo and boasting over 1000 BHP, and a tire eating beast. The Lotus 97T, an amazing racing machine in which Senna would eventually take his first career Formula 1 win. GTMX-HECTO1 joined in for the final race of the evening and would do his darndest to win it. After his horrid finish in race 2, Dolph would start up front and lead the first lap with Bionic right on his tail. After a slow getaway from the chicane on lap 2, Dolph would quickly lose his lead to Bionic. Behind them, there was pandemonium in the second chicane. Hector drove in too deep and slid into the sand, while Severn followed right in his tire tracks. Lightning, who managed to navigate the chicane without incident, barely touched the slower moving Severn in the rear end coming out of the chicane and was rewarded with a ludicrous ramming penalty by PD. Severn slowed to let lightning by in the next right hand sweeper, but lightning slid off track. Something important under his car must have broken, because he retired from the race on the spot. The field started to separate some laps later, and Racing, Dolph, and Bionic would all make pit stops to get fresh rubber. Meanwhile, Hector and Severn were looking to go the distance without a stop. Unfortunately it would not work out for Severn. On lap 11, he got a penalty at the Ascari turn, was overexcited knowing Dolph and Bionic were coming, and slammed on the gas. This sent him into a wild spin, smacking the inside armco and flinging his car back into the middle of the track coming off the turn right in front of the two following racers. Luckily contact was avoided as they split him; Dolph to the outside and Bionic passing by the inside. Bionic would take over 2nd past Dolph coming down the front straight. Hector was still out front, looking to get to the finish with what little grip he had left with his tires. But it was not to be, as he lost it at Parabolica coming to 1 lap to go and watched helplessly as Bionic and Dolph flashed by. Bionic would go on to take the win, with Dolph falling a full 7 seconds back by the end in 2nd. Hector would limp around to finish 3rd, while Severn would do the same in 4th. Finally, Racing was the last of the cars left running in 5th. Busted’s car did not make it to the track, and thus he did not start the final race.

For the overall standings, Bionic would take home the gold, Dolph the silver, and Severn bronze. Racing would finish just off the podium, a mere 2 points behind Severn, and lightning only 2 points back from Racing in 5th. In his one race, Hector would pull down 28 points for 6th overall. Busted and Bombo tied for 7th with 22 points. Because neither driver raced the other, best lap times could not be compared. So Busted was awarded 7th due to the fact that he finished his race, while Bombo was given 8th for his DNF.

An interesting and exciting night it was for the Turtles. One that will not soon be forgotten. Congrats to all the winners! 👍

Sorry, gents, last Friday of the month means I've got work... Then the wife invited people over after... :irked:

So it looks like that makes me, Bionic, and lightning for now. And Racing usually runs Friday nights with us, too. We'll see. If it's just like, 4 of us, then I vote we just mess around in random cars and move this week's schedule to another week.

I'll be setting up the room shortly.

I have an elite drifting R8, and it's not an Audi.

the roommate is watching netflix, so i dunno. i got rid of the 8 year old modem and router for some fresh equipment which is quicker. we may just try it and see if it will disconnect or not.

Room is up. ID# 1472-6118-3701-4256-8743.

Hopefully my connection isn't total crap. The internet on my computer has been pretty slow the past few days. If you guys have trouble getting in or seeing others, then someone else may need to host.

BTW, I'll be AFK for a bit. I'll still check in on this thread, but I won't be paying attention to GT6 for a while.

I can't get in.

Yeah my connection apparently sucks. Racing's having trouble getting in. I left the room, so Bionic is the host now. If we still have trouble, we'll try to get someone else to set up a room and host.

Edit: I can't even get back into the room now. Can someone else set up a room?

Edit 2: Nevermind, I'm in now.

If we decide to run the Plymouth Superbird instead of the regular NASCAR's this week:

I did some testing with the Superbird at Daytona. By taking the transmission up to a top speed of 211 mph, I was getting up to 180 on the straights, which seemed to be the fastest this thing would go stock. In a draft, we should be able to do over 180. I'm not sure what that translates to in kph, but that seems to be the best setting. And I was messing with the tires. Racing hards would probably last longer than the fuel, but softs wouldn't seem to get you close. I think mediums would be a good middle ground if we decided to do this thing.

Let me know if you guys are interested in doing this here. Otherwise, we'll just run the NASCAR's. That is, if we have enough people show up. I know the race is scheduled for the 4th of July, and some of you may have plans watching fireworks or hanging with friends and family.

Dolph, would you mind terribly changing your Avatar? I  hate the Reds and it makes me sick to even read your posts.

thanks, much appreciated.

Our holiday is the 1st. I'm not much of the national pride type, so I'll be here on GTP. :P

Turtle Racing League - Race Night Recap

A smaller recap this week. BionicDerp, in a rare instance, was off his game for the evening. However, he did take the pole position, fastest lap, and win in race 1. There was quite a close finish between the top 4 finishers in race 2, with RacingOtaku86 taking the victory. And DolphDrago closed out the night with a win.

Dolph would go on to finish 1st overall. lightningdf22b1 and GTMX-HECTO1 tied for 2nd on 84 points. Lightning took the 2nd spot due to having the faster lap in all 3 races compared to Hector. Racing would only finish 2 points back in 4th overall. Bionic had a rough couple of races and ended his night in 5th, 1 point arrears of Racing. And racercad joined us for the final two races to round out the field in 6th.

Thanks to everyone who came out and congrats to the winners! 👍

Firecracker 400 this weekend? What night? I might be at a fireworks show friday night, but i may be free saturday...

Edit:
I dont know if it's me or what, but these nascars are f'ed up. Hard to even get around the corners on hards without losing control.
Has it always been this hard to drive them in GT6? I have to admit i rarely get in them. But sheesh, they just want to spin.

Turtle Firecracker 400 is Friday night (if enough people show). Real Firecracker 400 is Saturday night. Also, I have no idea that if we do run the race tomorrow night, if we're running the NASCAR cars or Superbirds. No one has said what they want to do.

Well unless I see some people post here that they were wanting to race at Daytona tonight, I may not open up a room. All I know is that Mic can't make it. And Bionic may. Please let me me know if you want to race tonight. If we don't, then the race will likely be pushed back to a future date.

I'm in for tonight if it's still going on. Although, I may lose power due to the hurricane thing going on
