Make sure its got the ports on the botttom and not the side. If you get the ozone you cant put a moniTor with side ports on their vesa mount

Yea, actually, coincidentally, I'm pretty sure the monitor you linked to me before is the monitor I have, haha. (Maybe not the exact model, I'm at work.)

I was talking with my wife last night about the whole setup thing, and I was like "All said and done I'll probably be looking at around $700"

And she responds, "Oh... I thought we were talking about like $2,000... which I'm was still totally fine with. You earned it."

Now begins the struggle of being the responsible adult... and not spending $2,000
I do love that woman, though.
If you have up to 2K then may I suggest...

My advice would be to consider all alternatives carefully and not make a quick decision .... hoping that you still have to wait till the check "comes in". My grilled cheese awaits but I'll get back to you with my 2 cents worth

Food for thought, the Fanatec & Thrustmaster T500 RS are considered the best "non commercial" or "non-professional" grade wheel products out there. I just recently read a post in this thread by a Fanatec wheel owner who was having technical issues with his Fanatec wheel and was seriously considering a T500 RS to replace it. I've had a T500 RS for 14 months now and I've expounded on it's merits in comparing it to the DFGT and G25/27. However, that being said, I've had technical issues with both the pedal set and the Ferrari F1 optional wheel. In 14 months, I've broken 3 brake pedal springs, with normal unabusive use (the third last night, less than 4weeks after rebuilding the entire pedal set with all new springs - 2 springs per pedal). I've had the pedal set apart now 3 times and do not consider it to be a commendable design. The metalurgy in the springs must be inferior for them to break as they do (they are not tempered properly). I have been considering a Fanatec Club Sport pedal set to mate with the Thrustmaster wheel ... there is an adapter soon to come to market which would allow them to work with the PS3. However .....

One of the toggle switches in the F1 wheel recently shorted out which makes all of the other buttons non-functional (unless you want 6 buttons that honk the horn). Last November I purchased a new headset with mic from Thrustmaster. It is a new product line for them and it had merits that warranted me spending the $140 to buy one. It lasted 2 weeks until the ON/OFF button failed to function anymore and I literally couldn't turn it off. I'm not necessarily a fan of Thrustmaster quality nor quality control.

As for the Obutto, we have a recent comment from micanthony who is another proud owner of this fine chassis. He made a very honest and valid comment about the seat difficiency relative to basic comfort. This isn't easy for him to admit I'm guessing as it is hard for someone who plunks down that kind of coin to admit it doesn't live up to the hype. I admire his forthright effort to alert prospective buyers. I owned one of the first VRCs (Bob Earl Virtual Race Chassis) 14 years ago. The seat was uncomfortable and I eventually moved up to a Playseat. From the moment I sat in the seat, I knew it wasn't right for me ... too upright and too hard. Eventually I bought another reclining racing seat. The F1 style Playseat shown above has great promise and is the only one I would consider at this point.

My point to all this .... is that the"non-commercial" products on the market today all have their own issues, ergonomically and technically. We are limited to what's available mostly by cost. If I had considerable coinage, I would start investigating "professional grade" wheels. I know they exist and I can't recall the brands at the moment, but I have read about them and understand them to be of twice the quality and durability of the sometimes funky stuff we get stuck with in this lifestyle. I would research the heck out of this rather than jump on something just because someone else thinks it's a good idea .... nothing personal to those who are trying to help

Is anyone else having pits top issues?

When I open a room online and do a pit stop, I can only change to SH tires.

The one time I pitted when someone else was hosting, I was able to get RM tires.

Pit Meeting

The First Turn Rule - It is the policy of this league for you to hold your position in turn 1 and not try to improve it unless the following situations occur: 1) The driver directly in front of you is asleep on the start. 2) The driver directly in front of you runs off course with at least 2 wheels off the track. 3) Obvious race incidents that must be avoided. 4) If you are able to fully draft past someone without incident or disruption to the other driver(s) with a reasonable distance before approaching the first turn.

Holding your position in the first turn is limited to the first turn on the first lap. This rule is in place for 2 reason: (1) to effectively avoid incidents in the first turn, and (2) so that drivers who are being careful and doing their part to avoid incidents in the 1st turn of are not taken advantage of. There is no sense in causing an incident in the congestion of the first turn. You can not win the race on the 1st turn or even the 1st lap. If a complaint is filed, the decision we make will be one that promotes an incident free first turn.

Dive Bombing

Dive bombing is unacceptable, and only results in incidents. It is not the same as passing under braking. Dive-bombing is when a trailing car intentionally brakes late to dive underneath the car in front of them as they are turning into a corner. The trailing driver must move to the low groove for at least 3-4 seconds prior to corner entry so that the leading driver can see the trailing drivers intentions in his mirror. However, running the low groove is not a guarantee that he will allow you to pass, it is only an indication that you wish to pass on the low side. The trailing driver must also have gained at least a half a car length lead before braking begins so the leading driver can see his position and avoid contact.

Mics During Racing

From the beginning of the race, until the last driver crosses the finish line, your mic should be on mute. This allows all racers to concentrate on their driving to the fullest. You may unmute to tell a driver your track position if racing in close proximity. If a racer is on mic by mistake, please feel free to say "Mic Check" to remind all racers to check.

Race Incidents

Legitimate complaints are encouraged, they insure a better racing environment for everyone. Complaints should be addressed by "Private Message" to the race steward of the race in which the incident occurred. It is a matter to respect every Turtle on the track, as we are competing against each other on the track, we all must remain clean at all times. If you know you made a mistake on the track by pushing a turtle off track, please let them gain their position back. We are Turtle Racing League, and we want to be remembered as a respectful clean racer towards any racer out there. Please include race number, lap number, and time of incident. A ruling will be announced after a video review by an independent steward. All racing incidents or racing related issues shall be dealt with privately and under no circumstance mentioned publicly.

Gentleman Rule

In 2 Situations the Gentleman Rule Can apply, first off, when racing with a group of racers around you, and hitting someone off track, you are at fault, you must give their position back and wait up for them, even if it requires losing positions. Second off, When going off track, and cars are around you, the on track cars have the right of way, and when it's the correct time, please cautiously return to track when it's safe too, even if it requires to brake or let off the gas pedal to allow on track racers past you. Failing to follow the Gentleman Rule, and getting a race complaint against you will lead to Stewards Penalizing you for not following the rule. The Basic Saying is, when you make a mistake, you are at fault and be a Gentleman about it. We do not want to be saying to everyone week by week that you cant go off track or push someone off track. We all make mistakes on track sometimes weather hitting someone off track, or going off track, but when happening, be a Gentleman about it. Please Know that Turtle Racing League Does NOT take penalty's very serious, we are all here to have a blast racing together. For the most part the first couple of times we will talk to you about what happened and make sure it does Not happen again. We all make mistakes off and on track, and we want to turn your mistakes into successful Racing by knowing not to do that again.

Any Other Questions On Today's Pit Meeting?

Thank-you All! If there is Any other turns that needs to be Discussed, Please Let Me Know

Turtle Racing League - Enduro Racing Series - Simply The Best

I've hit a few 2:22's while practicing (finally practicing) but I don't want them. I'm happy with steady 2:24's with clean tires and low 2:25's because I can do them clean without any oversteer... So that's my goal tonight... 2:24's and no offs.

Thank you! I will take #97 then (didn't see it taken) :) Do I need to send a FR?
Sounds Good! Got you added to Division 3! Nope just look for the room number on the thread tonight which will be posted by @BustedFoSho (Division 3 + Division A)

Thanks! GoodLuck Tonight!

My lap breakdown for a clean lap (more or less writing it out for my own benefit) all speed in MPH.

La Source: Down to 40 early, throttle control to apex and then steady increase to flat out, wide out to outside curbstones.

Eau Rouge: Hug first left curbstones, break to 5th, about 120 in high grip dip, then flat out up hill left tires hitting top left side curb then gliding out to right side stones.

Les Combes:
1. Brake between markers (100 yards-ish before left curb stones) down to 3rd at about 75 before cutting in to first apex.
2. Steady throttle control staying at 75 to inside apex then flat out wide to cut back around to prep for 3rd apex.
3. No braking, throttle control can hit apex between 75-80 and flat out to outside stones.

Rivage: Brake at curbstones down to 2nd at 60, throttle control hugging inside stones, then up to 3rd and flat out as it straightens out, then quick brake early for last corner back to 3rd so you can flat out through.

Pouhon: Brake down to 4th just after curbstones, steady throttle control taking corner around or just under 100. Slide wide, then flat out for second half of corner (if you have tires on outside stones, throttle control until all 4 are back on track then flat out or you're going to have a bad time).

Fagnes:
1. Don't be fooled, I screw up this corner more than any other, treat like Les Combes. Brake early to 3rd around 75 and keep that pace through the hitting the apex accelerate slightly...
2. ...but keep the 75 to the apex of the second and then flat out when steady.
3. Slight braking and throttle control can hit 3rd apex at 80 and accelerate wide out to curbstones.
4. Wide right can be taken with just slight throttle control.

Blanchimont and last chicane:
Don't be fooled, brake early to 5th around 130 and then instantly flat out and hug apex to accelerate through, done right you won't hit the outside curbstones as they like to send you spinning for no particularly good reason.
Braking mark for the chicanes is really tough for me, it's before the braking line across the track, and I base it off a braking marker disappearing of the left side of my screen (obviously this wouldn't work for everyone), but this spot allows for slight trail braking in 2nd to the first apex, then it's just throttle control through the second apex before straightened out enough (near outside curb) to be fully flat out and preparing for corner 1 again.

Again, this isn't the fastest line, but it's my most consistent and clean at low 2:24's and holds well to 2:25's with tire wear.

Thanks... and sorry last question. FT1 can not be painted so how do we manage race colors?
Your more than welcome to ask questions on the thread 👍 any color you want on your FT1 this week. After this week use your colors on your car that you signed up for and if numbers are at use for availablity use your number. Also if you ever want a new color combo or number you can change it whenever you want too

Thanks for your kind response. I haven't taken part in an organized race since the Group C leagues in GT5 so I want to make sure I do this right :P
