Double post, but progress on the "PWD 1G"

I was worried with my son's ADHD how much effort he'd really put into sanding and shaping the car before he got bored and didn't want to do it anymore. I'm super proud with how much he's accomplished since I made all the initial cuts and glued the pieces together. He's worked tirelessly the past few evenings sanding away. Just a little bit more until we're ready to put the fins/wing on it and get painting. image.jpg

you can get it around that price these days. $215-$235 is what i've seen for the most part (thought i had to replace my dfgt, but i fixed it and i still like it). $215 is good though.

My obutto is ok. the seat is too small though (pressure points hurt after a while), i wish it had a better/larger seat is my only complaint. I use a cushion to avoid that, but it disappointed me that i had to do that after reading all the BS reviews by "large" people saying the seat is comfy.

(by the way, before you get ideas in your heads, i'm not that large :-) the seat is just not very wide - it is possible they use different seats than they used to from China, who knows.)

Here's my rig. The Obutto Ozone, g27 and a 37 inch Vizio flat screen. I highly recommend the Obutto. It's the most bang for your buck. Very adjustable and easily assembled in less than an hour with a Phillips screw driver and two 13 mm wrenches.

My only complaint if you can call it that is that I have to raise the wheel to swing the keyboard mount over. Well worth the money

Awesome setup, I like it!
Currently I have a 24" monitor mounted almost in the exact same position on my DFGT, which I call "windshield position". A little small but fortunately I sit close to the steering wheel to save my arms.

I'm trying to make up my mind as to whether or not I should upgrade from my Driving Force GT to a G27. Any of you guys think that it'll be worth it?

Back to in game, but just did the HST... And does anyone know what the hell is going on with the dirt? Did it turn to sludge with 1.04 or with today's sudden unexpected patch... The Sludge Patch? The to Hell with Physics Patch? The Oh Sorry We Accidentally Set All Dirt To Feel Like The Moon Rover Patch?

I've been trying to figure that out. Starting to bug me.

Really REALLY off topic: But I just raced the Red Bull X2014 Fan Car around Nürburgring 24H with the changes I made to the car, got a 5:11:533. O_O I feel so happy now! :D

I like it  Pretty much makes going off a negative thing now

Well, it's never been a "positive" thing for me
But it does make me frustrated coming back on the track with such an extremely different surface... Normally the tires in the dirt spin and the track gets grip... Not the other way around...

I'm not sure my full opinion on it yet... I just know that it felt nowhere near like any kind of dirt I've ever felt before

I agree ... they definitely changed the physics of the off track surface. One of the things I like about it is that it now elimates the yahoos who think it's cool to speed across the desert and try and jump the track only to land on top of in front of people who are taking the race seriously. People could also cut across the desert and regain the track while gaining position advantage on others.

I'm going to probably take a few runs at the X challenge here, but after that is anyone interested in doing some FT-1 battle practice? (I.e. We stick together in a group and give each other some *real* practice instead of just lap times)
