Turtle Racing League - Race Night Recap

Division 1 + Division 2: Well with a very disappointing low attendance for Division 1 This week, Division 1 decided to Join Division 2 for some awesome Racing! turnupdaheat grabbed the Pole This Week, but it seemed like micantony controlled Division 1 throughout the Night! RacingOtaku86 also hanged right behind micantony, just not enough to catch up to micantony! Turnupdaheat followed right behind both of them, the consistency wasn’t quite up their for turnupdaheat, but he was still running strong! Micantony was able to grab his first overall win in quite a while! Division 2 was dominated by SilverFire41, SilverFire41 is on the bubble by going to Division 1, but we will see how he does next week! The rest of the pack behind him all battled from door to door, Severn actually set a wicked Division 2 Lap in Race 2! Division 2 continues to have one of the better turnouts throughout the Weeks!

Division 3: This was just a matter of a battle between tzracer and Fasterthanyou911 (Who joins us whenever he sees us Racing) They both ran terrific by pure consistency and speed throughout the race! CaptainKirrahe28 on his Debut set the POLE for Division 3 and finished with 2 bronze finishes! There was a lot of epic battles throughout both races! Division 3 is starting to pick up the speed and getting very interesting! No one seems to dominate this Division! Its basically anyones, and On saturday, it showed, its anyones race to win! From Door to Door to Door to Door! Close Battles! Fasterthanyou911 barely edged out tzracer for the overall win! Great Racing By everyone!

Considering I finished a whopping half a lap, thanks for awarding me those 39 points, Phish!

I'm goin back to my roots phisher. Black / Black and same #7... just throw me in div 1 driver line-up. Its getting closer until I get back. Just a mater of weeks

@Ph1sher is there a typo in the Division 3 standings? Looks like in the 2nd race CaptainKirrahe posted the fastest best lap, unless that was a typo.

yes! i always miss a couple things in the results since im typing so fast to get the results done quick as possible  thanks! ill change that!

No, the times are correct.

Captain was slowed by a couple spins and a pit stop. He is fast, once he learns to control tire wear, he will be moving up.

Originally, another time was highlighted as the best fastest lap. Not an insult to Captain, haha.

Wait until you see the video
Now this is going to be funny!

It's a good thing I'm such a good sport, it's powerfully frustrating and disheartening when it happens... :banghead: every race... :banghead: but I'll get there. The journey of a hot-lap-time-trial-er-who-can-just-restart-if-he-spins to an endurance driver is a long and arduous one... someday I'll teach my subconscious that not every lap need be my fastest lap...

But, I have high hopes for Silverstone. Only spin I've had in practice has been on the slow hairpin just awkwardly catching the inside curbstone bump, and that was just because I was trying to figure out the absolute best line through that for the most speed for the straight... that one obviously was not the right one so I won't be doing that again, haha.

I appreciate it! That was my first ever online race, and my first endurance race in GT. To be honest I thought managing the tire degradation was going to be much like the F1 Codemaster's games, but I think it's much trickier in GT. Hopefully with some practice this week I'll get a handle on it.

@Severn I am also dealing with the same challenge... the only difference is that I can not pull the same fast lap times as you are. So I am working double time to be consistent and fast...

Turtle racing league is like going to a gym wherein fat people don't get laugh at but you are all working towards the same goal to be fit.

I'm glad that you're a good sport also. Being a bit "long in the tooth" as they say, I've come to realize that patience is a virtue. My XMB avatar bubble message (as you know) says "Go Slow to Go Fast" and I find that my best results come when I simply race the track and disconnect my emotions from racing. I do have a big advantage on you however, I'm naturally much slower. I don't expect to win and as I've said before, anytime I finish higher than I qualify, it feels like a win. If you look at my seasonal TT rankings, you can see that I still have some of the speed I had as a youngster but I find it harder as I get older to maintain the concentration levels that I used to. It used to frustrate me before when I would forget what corner was coming up and what gear I needed to be in. Now there are times when I completely forget what track I'm at ! We all know your frustration and can relate ... we all make mistakes. Thankfully, none of our livelihoods depends on finishing results ... it is only a game after all :dopey:

Lol ANFD! I can relate to the first sentence as it's happened to me the odd time. I've yet to forget completely what track I'm at but it'll probably happen to me sometime down the roa........or....ahh....em.......should that be up the road?

What ever happened to Busted? He hasn't posted for awhile and I see him on the stewards list. Also, where's psycho? He been online anymore since that one day?

Maybe I'm way off here, but I wonder if actually @ tagging usernames on race night or practice night would remind users and/or just get them paying attention again since I know that simply following a thread, once you have an alert for it you won't get another one until you go check the thread... I've forgotten about threads I was in multiple times since I joined this forum, having to parse back through my alerts to remind myself where I was having a specific conversation and stuff...

But, I also imagine that could be a little annoying so I would understand why we wouldn't want to do it... but when you see an alert that someone has mentioned you in a post, you're generally a lot more apt to actually go see what they're saying about you, haha.

Wudup @ItsAllAboutWins , @Ph1sher and all my shellmates :D. Actually @Severn that does work pretty good. Over @ STaR we have a convo dedicated to keeping such docs (ie: welcome letter etc.) entitled Notifications and Letters and anytime an administrator needs to use them they just cut & paste changing the recipients name on the doc. we also keep a complete list of @tags in letter form that we use when we want to notify the entire membership at once. Just one of my many brilliant ideas:sly: toot toot (sorry just blowing my own horn)

PS: Your more than welcome to it Ph1sh. I also found an awesome BBcode color chart if your interested.

I came up with it independently so I'm still claiming it ;)

We have a regular White Hat over here! Haha.

I'm in tech myself... but on the IT side, so my job tends to consist of digging through hackers' un-commented code to find the actual problem and prove it isn't the hardware's fault. :P
