Nick and Kendawg do you guys want to let me know your picks for Monday Night?

Nick - PP (current PP 1650 so 25+/-)

Kendawg - Qualifying track

Thanks

Silent Auction... err secret ballot I mean. 👍 That's what I was wondering.
I will tell no one of my selections! :)

But I do think Chiochan's idea of maybe dialing in a possibility of a dirt track to get some use for the 4wd drivetrain, is not a bad idea to mix things up for fun. OTOH though, I'd MUCH prefer like a simple shorter Liege track rather than OMG :ill: Eiger K trail or something T trail or G or whatever they are. :nervous:  :scared:

Wait! i didnt vote for dirt tracks because, well, I didnt think people would want to run those, PM coming your way joby!

Hey joby! I noticed that you put up the new PP for April 6th but not the qualifity track. I made the qualifing track choice on this post.

You may have missed it so I want to bring it to your attention:)

I think I am on board with this. Was there a reason for the limited range?

A 2000 cap would have a mean of 500 per car. I think that would put the +/- at 440 and 560.

So yea, We could make it higher than 2000 but I think it does need to have a ceiling and a basement.

i totally missed that. I will add that now.

you are close on the range. It would actually be 425 to 575. And even at that point I think we might have to make allowances for the FF's as there are not that many. That being said if we let the race cars run race tires and a PP modifier we would have a bit more to choose from.

Do you like dirt tracks? What with your name & all... I wondered.
I think a lot of people do, or kind of would - at least sometimes... but I know it gets harshly pooh-poohed as an idea lots, so I think that's why a lot of people won't bother suggesting it.
Myself, I'm not all that keen on dirt tracks, but I like a variety. Keener on snow tracks actually. But particularly toscana tarmac & mt aso. :)
But I'm not likely to pooh-pooh any track. If Madrid Mini Reverse was chosen I would probably pull a face, but you wouldn't have to see it.

Track voting. So far We have only had 9 people vote for tracks. I am liking the mix of tracks:) But if you want your favorite track to have a chance you better vote. I would not assume that the tracks you like will be there unless you vote for them. The official announcement is here in case you missed it. 👍 to those that have sent me a vote.

Can dirt/snow be equipped to ANY car? I didn't think MR and many FR could use them?
I thought it was just a few cars that couldn't equip dirt/snow tires...
There was a thread somewhere I saw months ago that had a list... but I can't seem to find it now.

EDIT: Sorry no, there was a thread that had a list of cars that COULD take dirt & snow tires... and it was NOWHERE NEAR complete.

EDIT2:
(I think a lot of the supercars you can't.)

i see a new column may be needed on the spreadsheet:)

Keep the track votes coming:)

Most cars except RM, race and supercars can take dirt and snow. Basically, if it would bottom out over a pot hole, then it wont take dirt or snow.

RM's can use snow and dirt tires. Also most cars at the pp we are using can use dirt and snow tires.

I think that's true... Most of the road cars in the 480pp & less range can take dirt/snow tires.
It's just the race cars or touring cars & supercars that can't.
I know MOST of the vintage road cars & sports cars... and the kei cars can take them because I've tried most of them. The exceptions might be the Muria Bertone & other lambos & stuff like that.
(One type of car I haven't tried - luxury saloon & grand tour type things like the Aston Martins... have never tried those on dirt tracks - though now I wonder if it's because they can't take the tires!! Because it seems odd that I can't remember trying those cars on dirt/snow because I love those cars!!)

I'm going to go through my garage when I have a chance & buy dirt & snow tires for all the cars it will let me. We'll have that database section filled in no time joby!

Official Announcement

With April about to start now is as a good time as any to post a few detail changes for the Performance Cap Racing.

Monday Night

For the Monday Night Event the runner-up will now be able to adjust the PP of the next event +/- 0-50 points. This can be done in increments of 10 points.

Saturday Night

For the Saturday Night event the runner-up will be able to pick a PP between 1400-2000 in increments of 25. The new PP will need to be at least 100 points away from the previous event. This should create a more varying event from week to week.

I will be looking for feedback on which format people enjoy more. There is nothing stoping us from running both the same if people feel strongly that one format is better than the other.

Tracks

The next big change will be in the tracks. We will have a core list of 9 tracks broken down into 3 groups based on average speed for a single lap. This is a change from the current 4 groups although the number of tracks is actually 1 greater. The track selection process for the evening will be the same with the 2nd, 3rd and 4th tracks to be used being chosen by the winner of the previous race. Each grouping can only have one track from its list used for the evening event.

So this leaves the first race with no track list. Well that is not actually true. The winner of the previous weeks race will now be able to choose the qualifying track from any track in the game. I think that should be a nice reward for coming in first.

Race 1 track - Chosen by previous nights winner (can use any track)
Race 2 track - Chosen by winner of race 1 (track selected from groups)
Race 3 track - Chosen by winner of race 2 (track selected from groups)
Race 4 track - Chosen by winner of race 3 (track selected from groups)

I would like this to include dirt, snow, randomly generated, time or weather tracks. If you all feel that is a step to far let me know and please state why you think it will not be good for the event. Please do not just say I hate dirt tracks. Lets be constructive in our arguments for or against.

Are the laps increasing?
Do we need to pick just 3 cars instead of 4?

I disagree with dirt and snow. Can't see nothing infront of the car when following another car. This equals no fun.

We still need 4 cars. We will have 4 races the difference is the previous nights winner will get to pick the qualifying track and will be able to choose any track. So it will look like this:

Race 1 track - Chosen by previous nights winner
Race 2 track - Chosen by winner of race 1
Race 3 track - Chosen by winner of race 2
Race 4 track - Chosen by winner of race 3

Does that make it more clear?

So wait nothing's really changing about the format per se... with adding tracks CHOICES, not actual tracks to race per evening or less. Or I think that's right...
Like instead of choosing between sets of 2 each tracks, the winner would be choosing between sets of 3...

O.K. same as before just the winner gets to pick 1 of 3 instead 1 of 2.👍

Joby, here is an updated sheet with all of the latest PP, Drivetrains, Results, and Lap Times. No solution yet to making the data entry easier for the nights host. If you like you can take a copy of this file to your Google Docs and use this one now.
Looks awesome. I will wait till tomorrow to try to copy it across. Thanks for all the work you have put in to this.

To all you Performance Cap participants.
Lets try to fill in some more PP figures. For this spreadsheet to really work we need to get a value for every car. In order of preference for values:

1. Max PP - A car with 200-9000 miles with a fresh engine rebuild or a car from the OCD with fresh oil. The car should be listed like this PP - Broken in with fresh oil and engine rebuild.
2. New car - A 0 mile car with fresh oil (this will get us close but once broken in we will have the final value). The car should be listed like this PP - Not broken in but with fresh oil.
3. A used car with more than 9,000 miles with an engine rebuild (the lower the mileage the closer this will be). The car should be listed like this PP - xxK with engine rebuild where xx is the mileage

Thanks for you help Guys and Gals:)

I'll start taking a peek at my cars that are not "optimum" in mileage.
Also, all STANDARD Italian ROAD cars up to 1989 can take dirt/snow tires - except the Lambos.
(That's how I'm going through them by country/year- not the premiums - I'll go through them later.)
(And yes, there are no pre 1990 road cars I don't have.)

I'll take a look at some of my cars too, for pp. but most of my standard cars are over 900 miles, actually, most of them are I've 20000miles so I'm not going top be able to contribute much.

I think it's good up to at least 3,000 to 4,000 miles before the optimum pp is gone...
Can someone confirm this? (Or set me straight please!)

I'll be sure to mark the miles for any pps I report anyway, as usual. 👍
