Chatva...I watched that replay of the first lap at Suzuka and man we were so close in that corner. Not sure if we touched but I apologize if I tapped you. The first lap is funky because we don't know brake points or turn in marks etc. I think we both got it too hot...you gave me room inside but we both ended up spinning.

I think we could have finished 1, 2 but...

Can somebody post the results? I have to fix my settings bc I can barely hear you guys talk but the cars are really loud.

Official League Announcement
While slightly later than planned we have a new track list. As mentioned before we are now going to have 9* tracks to choose from. These tracks will be in groups of three.

Group A
Eiger Nordwand Track Short Track
Mazda Lagun Seca
Fuji GT
*Wildcard Tracks

Group B
Nürburgring Nordschleife
Deep Forest Raceway
Grand Valley East

Group C
Special Stage Route 5 (Night)
Autodromo Nazionale Monza (With Chickens)
High Speed Ring

*Wildcards
Random Toscana Tarmac
Chamonix Main
Eiger Nordwand Track G Trail

These tracks will be used for races 2-4. The first race track will be chosen by either the previous winner or runner up and they will have the freedom to choose any track in GT5 that we can race on.

As you may notice there are some wildcard tracks. These three tracks received enough votes to put them in the top 9 tracks. So I want us to give them a try. I know there are some concerns about dirt and ice tracks so here is what I would like to do. If someone chooses a wildcard track we will run it:) After the evening is done everyone that raced will be able to vote whether we keep it. A simple yes to keep or no to remove will be sufficient. If it survives it stays. If not then we will remove it from the list.

We will need to figure out the best way to do the random track. I believe Watermelon had a good idea here but any other thoughts or ideas are appreciated.

edit - And we will need to figure out lap times so we know how many laps to run. Let the practicing begin:)

It's funny you should say that. Although I didn't race last night, I dreamt I was participating... in reality. In my dream, myself, Nic, chatva, my brother (who didn't run SNAIL anymore) and I think tez were running cars at Tokyo. After the race, which my brother won in a black civic type, we were in the pits and everyone was in fire suits, helmets on, addressing each other by PSN names. It was bizarre to say the least, but still sweet. people ask what I did last night, I'll say I was lapping a Mazdaspeed protege (car I was driving)

... I may play GT5 to much.

I don't always play GT5 online, but when I do, I always address everyone by PSN names and assume they race in the racing suit like their avatar :sly:

Joby,
Let's say it is the last race of the night and someone picks a rally course but my last car can't use snow/dirt tires. What then?

I'm in favor of trying this out, although it means a lot more testing and prep.

I'm also excited for Monza and the chickens it brings to the table.

Valid point. My understanding is that most cars (especially in our PP range) can use dirt/snow. Please post in the thread anytime you find one that can not and we can always asses the feasabilty of using the tracks.

edit - Looks like most cars will be fine List

I want playing GT5 in my sleep..I WAS IN THE GAME! They were people to me. Imagine walking up to sometime and saying "Have a great day tezgm99£ That doesn't find weird to you?

I've done that when meeting up with people I only knew online (a couple of NASCAR races down at Sonoma) since I was more used to calling them by their online name rather than their real one

Congrats to Kendawg on the Win:tup: You can choose to adjust the PP (0-50 +/- in increments of 10) or choose a qualifying track (From any in the game).

Well done Nexcalibur on coming second in your first event:cheers: You will be able to pick either the PP or the Qualifying track depending on which Kendawg chooses.

Also I want to thank all you guys for the chatter in the thread. I am so glad that you are liking the nature of the event. I think we have a great bunch of people (and one cyborg) here and I hope that we can keep this fun and challenging in that order. Hopefully I will be able to join in on the fun soon until then spread the word to racers you think would like to take part. Lets get the field back up to 12ish drivers.

I know Green! But I see you are unhappy lately too.

The short of it is I just seem to have more fun in this series. Why? Technical and format differences in the two series aside, Sunday feels so formal. There isn't nearly as much friendly chat...and if you do chat, someone will probably complain about excessive in-game chatter. There seems to be so much focus on rules, breaking them and enforcing them, that it's hard for me to loosen up and have a good time. The races are so short and the pressure to get to the front is so great that people race more aggressively than they normally would.

I just feel more relaxed here. In chat I can say whatever I want and we laugh and have a good time. No one is complaining or arguing...except Shmiggz :) j/k. The racing is clean, lighthearted and fun.

It's hard to put my finger on it but right now, I have alot more fun here. It feels like I'm playing and afterwards I wish is wasn't so late so we can do it some more. Sunday feels like work and I almost can't wait for it to end.
Amen to that!👍

Dude! What's wrong with?
It really happened!

I just realized I had not posted official Results from Saturdays race:(

1st place goes to Diabolic:bowdown: who can choose the new PP or Qualifying Track. For the PP it can be anything from 1400-2000 in increments of 5. I suggest that it should be at least 100 away from the current 1600.

2nd goes to Kendawg:cheers: You will be able to choose either the PP or Qualifying tracks dependent on what our resident Cyborg decides to choose.

Saturday PP--4/20/13

1720
I have updated the 2nd post.

Kendawg you may pick the qualifying track.

Official Announcement
We are creeping up on being able to use cars with PP near 500. When we compiled the known PP list we focused on lower PP cars. We really need to try to fill in the remaining cars so any help with PP values for cars that we have none for would be appreciated.

In particular if you are going to run a car that is not listed you will need to provide the following info on the car.

1. The PP
2. The mileage
3. Confirm that you have done an engine rebuild and the car has fresh oil

Thanks for your continued support.
