Thanks for everyone who came out and raced. It was a fun night. I felt like I had good races at each track. And we even made it through without any drops or being kicked for server maintenance. It was also great to see some old faces (Nick) and new ones (XR Racer). Assuming Handelbar and Bowler show up next week if we all race again we should beat our attendance record.

I will be there. Wish I had made the 1600/1700 sets, but I have no doubt we will cycle around to it again.

No more vacations planned (Sun/Mon) until next April. See ya soon.

I will be back next Monday. After not being able to race from Wednesday until Monday, I will be itching to get back in the rig.

Tentative lineup -
FF - Mitsubishi Eclipse GT '06 (438PP)
FR - Toyota FT-86 G Sports Concept '10 (483PP)
MR/RR - Lotus Evora '09 (468PP)
4WD - Nismo Skyline GTR R-tune '99 (518PP)

Total - 1907PP

Edit; joby reminded me about the 'reward' for being rubbish so I'll take the +10PP and sort it out between now and next Monday :sly:

Oooh sports softs. Nice.
Maybe it will help prevent a repeat of that last turn incident at Deep Forest. I watched the replay and was like nooooooooo. Man that sucked. You barely got the tire off the curb.

Jobyone,

What did we end up on for my handicap? The two grades of tires and max PP was too much. One grade of tires (tested only with some higher PP) was some help.

Open to whatever is best for fun racing.

Right now I am leaving up to the individual. I would suggest that you take the +1 tire option and run RH for the four races and we will see how you do. So run 1900 PP. or if you prefer run 1940 PP. if you are going to run the RH let me know and I will drop the +40 from the spreadsheet so it calculates correctly

Woohoo, photo time for the Alpine! :dopey:

It was a bit tail-happy but was going slow enough that I was never in danger of completely losing it

Don't remind me... :banghead:

High Speed Ring
Great Pics. Thank you for taking the time to do that. I have nabbed one for the OP.

Also seeing my flying Red Mugen makes me realize why I was so slow. Its the wrong color. Does anyone have a white one so I can be faster next time;)

Official Announcement

Hey Cappers. I only just noticed but two of the lineups from Monday were over the 1740 PP. This would have affected the overall results. That being said the main thing is to be having fun and I think we had that last week.

I will ask that everyone take the time to use the spreadsheet to make sure your lineup is within the known PP limit. In a particular if you use

This sheet

it will allow you to quickly input your lineup and will give you the total PP.

This sheet

has all the known PP sorted by drivetrain then by PP and is a good tool to find your ideal car.

If you have any comments or suggestions for the data presentation please let me know as I am planning on doing some revisions.

I am not a good enough driver to tame that Oullim Spirra, even on sports softs. New line-up:

FF - Honda Integra Type R '03 428pp
4WD - Nissan GT-R Proto '05 502pp
FR - Aspara Drink RX-7 '06 519pp
MR - Honda NSX Type R '02 471pp

4 cars from the same decade +1pt

My lotus was 463. The sheet had the pp new with oil change. Which is what I used. I didn't go over PP. if appreciate that being noted and not or penalized as I didn't cheat. What really sucks. I had taken video of my cars before race one showing my PP. two nights ago I deleted it as I need space for a 7min video I was making. :(

Edit:
I took video of the Lotus. Date acquired and miles as well its current PP. sorry for low quality not around wifi and it won't let me load HD on 4G. Stupid YouTube.

As well the RS200 is 439pp when you have a good model. I had one at 438pp and used it as per the sheet. However the accurate PP should be 439.

Owens,

I can see where there could be a bit of confusion. When a car has nbi against it that means the car has less than 200 miles and I have not been able to confirm if it is in fact broken in (which only applies to Standards). For premiums it should mean that they are new and have an oil change but 0 miles. I will check when I get home but I imagine the Evora has a PP of 463 when new, 468 with oil change and probably 473 when broken in.

The process of checking every car and making sure they are broken in is a bit time consuming. The spreadsheet currently has 208 cars listed as nbi. If I was able to run one car every day to break it in it will take me 7 months to get those values correct. I am trying to update those values as I can but it does take some time. None of those values will go down and most will of course go up. There are also 126 high mileage cars that the Known PP will likely go up as I find low mileage examples.

While I understand that your Lotus may have had 463 (464 in the video with 45 miles) it is the broken in the value (or the current known PP value as per the spreadsheet) which is 468 that we use to base the PP. The reason this decision was made is to ensure that we all have the same cars at our disposal. Think about it like this. If I had wanted to run the same lineup as you but my Lotus had a PP value of 468 I would be over the PP limit. Since we do not allow limiting this means I could not run the same cars as you.

I am in no way implying that you were cheating and I do not for a second believe that 5 PP would have made any difference to the results. However we must have some way to ensure that we all have the same set of cars that we can run. That is why the spreadsheet was born. It is still not 100% accurate (I have adjusted the RS200) but it is the current accepted values that we will use as the PP. It is also why I would ask everyone to input there cars into the Monday lineup sheet. I try and do that for people if they post the lineups in the thread. If I see any overage I will try to point that out. This week I did not notice the overages and for that I am sorry.

I hope this will not tarnish your view on this series as having you race is a great pleasure and a real challenge to keep up with you.

I am positive the list I looked at had 463pp for the car. I knew it was the PP new with oil changed when I purchased it and changed oil. However it was what was listed and it fit the bill.

Basically all I'm saying is I didn't use a 468pp car and go over 5pp. My total was spot on and I used numbers from the list. :/

I totally get that the numbers are a work in progress. Ill try and help get figured to you if I see anything higher then what listed. ;)

No worries. I just didn't want anyone to think I cheated. Only thing I wanted to be clear. My integrity is very important. I preach to my children, don't lie, don't cheat, and don't steal! Follow that and life will treat you well. :)

We definitely have to work on the nbi cars. I was going to use the Nissan GT-R Proto '05 which is 502pp on the spreadsheet. I changed the oil and at 0 miles it is 510pp. I would guess broken in it is at 515pp but in any event, I need a different 4wd car now.

Well there may have been an issue with the list when Owens looked at it because I know we had a big problem with the list sorting etc last week. The scoring sheet was ALL messed up.

Bottom line is we know Owens is no cheater. And the list is a work in progress. I used a restore coupon on my RS200 to get it back to 435 and now I am going to break it in to get it up to maximum.

Help on the spreadsheet would be... well... helpful.

I am trying to make sure that I can verify every PP value. Currently I have confirmed only 407 cars:( This tends to mean that someone else posted a value and I have been able to match the numbers with my cars or I have a car I know is in the correct window of mileage (200-9000) and that it has an engine rebuild. Every time the OCD refreshes I am buying every car and confirming the value. I also check the UCD every time it refreshes and buy cars with less than 9000k miles and performing a rebuild on them. And trust me I would rather be driving than doing that.

So we have:
206 cars that we need to confirm the broken in PP value
126 cars that we need a low mileage example of (less than 9000 miles)
and roughly 60 that we have a value for but I have no idea if it is accurate in any way (the ones with no confirmed by next to them and no mileage listed)

So lets call it 400 cars. If you can get values for any of those cars that are more accurate just post them on the thread. Or if you are a duper send them to me;)

I would like to focus on the Premiums (NBI) and the ones that are unverified.

Any help would be appreciated.

And I can only tell you how much I am looking forward to doing this all over again when GT6 comes out and PP Cap moves to GT6:(

The Lotus Evora '09

Purchase pp.......460
Oil Change pp.....463
210 miles pp.......467

That is what I have.

Hah, the extra one PP will see my Evora triumph over yours, Ken

Alfa TZ2 de Zagato '65 (501 with 240 miles)
Alfa 155 V6 TI '93 (546 with 650 miles)

I have fond memories of this car on Motegi super speedway. Goat and Tez for the 1-2 finish!!!:)

Heck yeah, I still have those race replays saved :D

It may have sucked off the line being FWD, but it smoked everything else through the turns :sly:
