@cmbeal317 - Are you wired or wireless from your router to the PS3? If your currently wireless, you might try being wired as that "should" help
I have the slowest network speed of anyone and yet discos seldom occur. For one, I am hard wired to the modem and no other network connections are made during GT game time. If you can run one Ethernet cable and unplug any switch between the PS3 and the ISP equipment (modem) then test or race online without discos then the problems is solved. But, if disco's still happen then you can call you ISP and ask to have your connection tested to 'their' equipment. Your ISP should check the downstream and upstream Max Attainable Bit Rates (MABR) against the User Current Bit Rate (UCBR) and verify that the streams are not over used, or what is called High Capacity. Good luck with you ISP. Go get cabled directly for now.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but unfortunately going wired is probably going to do little to help. Something is interfering with the router itself(perhaps it's going bad) or something between our house and Verizon. When I lose connection like last night, the whole house loses internet. This happens randomly, it could just be my laptop and phone connected or all of our devices connected, but everything loses connection.

Verizon said we were pushing the limit of our speed, and gave us a free upgrade to 50/50, yet the problem persists. The problems with loosing internet started in June and before that it was very rare for me to get disconnected and the house never lost the internet connection. We've had Verizon for 5-6 years or so, and this is the biggest problem we've had since switching from Comcast.

You know, it sounds like what was happening here last year. The culprit wound up being on the cable company's end. I had 3 lazy techs come out before the 4th diagnosed the problem as the main wire form their box to my router had too much radio interference(basically an old wire). He said that with that much interference, we were at our limit also. One more thing, being wired directly to the router via ps3 though ethernet cable is without a doubt 110% better than wifi. I don't care even if your ps3 is sitting on top of your router!

Same thing here I finally got a tech who checked the line and found a fault and fixed it. Most come in and check inside do a ping test to next door and leave. I got insurance with mine and they replaced the router/modem and all was good after that. i have not had a dc (except for power issues during thunderstorms) since then.

Great race last night. I really enjoyed having the different cars on track and the turnout was the best you could ask for. It should be a very interesting season with the variety of tracks on the schedule which will let every car show their strengths.

I had it go out earlier this morning and I'm 99% sure that it is something in the connection between Verizon and the router. When it went out the I lost connection to the router, but was reconnected to the router within 30sec-1min. I went and looked at the router the lights showed that it was transmitting a wifi signal, however the light for the internet connection was not lit. It came back on approx. 5 min. later. I'm guessing it's a wire or something going bad.

I hope you can get it sorted. IMO NO ONE deserves to stay in that particular room than the guy putting on the show! I actually get upset when you DC. It's not fair.

Okay, I think I can eliminate the router as the source of the problem, as it went down again while watching at TV show On Demand. The box froze the picture and I had to power off and reset the set top box. When the box loaded up it said it was setting up the box(does this every time you unplug and reset the box). However, during the setup it said it had no data connectivity. I went and checked the router, and the light for the internet was out, but the wireless light was on. Checking my phone confirmed that I was connected to the router, but had not internet connection.

I'm thinking it might be something with the ONT(Optical Network Terminal) which is where the Fiber Optic signal is converted to the coax output and sent to the boxes and router. Either that or one of the coax splitters is going bad.

I'm not sure what the next tech will tell you weather or not they'll take the time to fix it properly but you ARE paying for unsatisfactory service no matter how you look at it. just saying. Good luck

Just a little update guys, I was over on the Verizon forums and found some things to try with the router settings and it seems to be stable now. Perhaps I've fixed it, but if not then it clearly is a big issue like I previously thought.

Should be alot more fun to not worry about getting 3 second short cutting penalties at Rome. Their really isn't any area to end up getting a penalty. Should be fun tonight.

Clearing things out, I thought Monaco was the next race

I'm going to qualify with hard tires, it is more challenging and funnier, my best lap is a 1:09.930 with hard tires, but it was a perfect lap I guess, because my second best is not even close to it (1:10.335)

Cote d'Azur(aka Monaco) is the 27th. :)

Should be a good race tonight and I think I'll be able to make it through the whole night! Only 1 loss of connection since I reset the router, and it came back almost immediately!:D

We also need to decide on a track for next week since fizzer never picked one. Suzuka, Spa, Bathurst, Tsukuba, Red Bull Ring, Motegi Road Course.... any ideas @cmbeal317 ?

I've got an idea!💡

I'll take each of the suggested tracks and make a post for each one, whichever one has the most likes by Wed. at 10PM ET will be the track we'll race next week. Since I can't like my own posts, I'll use my vote as a tie breaker if needed. :)
