I thought the penalties were strange as well. After getting 4 in 2 laps I'd had enough.

I think we should see if penalties are really necesary in some tracks before the countdown reaches zero because there are some tracks I see we have problems specifically for that

Would have won had I not forgotten to change to softs on my pit stop, forcing me to pit a second time 👎

And if we ever race on La Sarthe again, please turn off the penalties. It gets extremely frustrating when you keep receiving 5-10 second penalties when you only have 2-off 2-on strip (which according to the Snail OLR is completely allowed).

I couldn't beleive I was getting penalized for 2 on 2 off. I can see getting a penality for totaly short cutting but that was not the case. I'm sure it happened to most everyone.

I think that since we are not familiar with the Toscana(Tarmac) track and what the configuration we are going to get , can't practice on the track because the configuration is different everytime , we should turn the penalties off.
Also , there isn't many , if at all , places you can short cut on this track.

It was a close race. I had to pit a couple laps early because of fuel. And still didn't think I was going to make it. When rossi came out of pits on his last stop I was just in front of him. All I could think was "Don't get a penalty."

Lesson learned.. We should run some short mock races to figure out the time, rain & tire thing.

I must admit the penalties eventually did me in too, but as far as turning them off...it's the same for everyone. I actually didn't qualify, I used those laps to find out the "limits" of each corner so I would know what to avoid in the race. It's not like it favors any particular driver(s).i know it violates the OLR but it's what that specific track deems as a shortcut. Just playing devil's advocate here.

Le Mans is one of those tracks that penalties and OLR Rules cause major heart ache for clean racers.

I vote turn them off completely. Ghosting cars are just well Arcadish. Either you don't trust the racers or you do.

We had rain in the first race (since the start of qualifying), but a lot changed to rain compound in qualifying instead of backing out and changing in the driver aids or the set up menu, and they started with dry compounds as if they didn't changed them at all (Glitch or another rubbish feature) everybody backed out, cmbeal eliminated any chance of rain and we raced a second one with a random start order

Well good news and bad news guys.
The good news is that tomorrow night is Toscana! 1st custom track in SPEC History! I hope you guys have a great race and im excited to see the pictures. Which leads me to the bad news. Im done for at least the rest of the season. I have another game Saturday night at 8:45pm about 45 minutes away from my house so I wont make it back in time. Next week im making a trip up to York, PA to see a friend for the weekend so I will be missing that race also. I think its Deep Forest. I hope you guys have a great end to the season and somebody has to knock Kendawg off the throne I'll see you guys in 3 weeks when we begin our new season with the new schedule and cars as always.

Thanks AJ for putting the results up! I was hoping that I would have had everything up earlier this week, but I was just too busy and never got around to it. I'm going to update the scores right now, so everything will be up to date with the points. Hopefully we'll have a great turnout tonight at Toscana and everybody will enjoy running a completely random track!

Were you still going to create the track at 9:45 EST for people that want a little extra track time? Or are we going to do it at 10:00 EST so no advantages for people that can't make 9:45?

I think we should create the track at 10pm et. Since we can't reset the track , we can have the first half hour to get the hang of the track and qualify. Someone is going to have to back out at 10:15 to set the laps we are running.
We are running a 4 section/5 difficulty but what is going to be the time change setting?

If you set the change time on 60. It doesn't get dark or real sunny. I think so anyway. I know I did a race a few weeks ago with this setting and that is what happen.

Sounds good to me.

To do a full day night cycle, we used 15 last week. I used a formula someone on GTPlanet posted and for an hour and a half 16 was the number it came up with.

EDIT: And maybe we set the start to earlier in the day so we get a little more light to get used to the track
