Welcome to the SNAIL [GT1 Championship] Series:
We represent the full tuning series of the biggest, console based, sim racing league in the world.
We race class grouped cars rotating every 2 seasons. V8 supercars, GT modifieds and GT supercars. There are two different divisions, Pro and Pro Am.
We have specs for both divisions, to keep them as equal as possible and ensure competitive racing for the entire season.
Race Format:
We will race Wednesday at 9:30 PM ET, with the room opening at around 8:30 PM ET.
Each night will consist of one 50 minute timed race at the chosen track.
There will be a 10 Minute qualifier before the race.
Tire regulations:
In the V8 supercar series Racing Medium and Racing Hards are the compound choice. The Racing Hard compounds must be used a minimum of 6 complete laps in every race.
In the GT Modified series Sports Softs and Sport Mediums are the compounds choice. The Sports Mediums compound must be used a minimum of 6 complete laps in every race.
In the GT supercars series Racing Medium and Racing Hards are the compound choices. The Racing Hards must be used a minimum of 6 full laps in every race.
Pit in and pit out do not count towards your minimum mandatory lap count on the option tires.
Explained in greater detail here
During the qualifier it is legal to pit at any time to change your tire compound.
Championship Prize:
Champions of both Pro and Pro-Am will get to choose 2 tracks each, to be used next season.
Rules:
We expect all drivers to follow our S.N.A.I.L. OLR and pursue good racecraft at all times
It can be summed up in one simple 'Golden Rule' of motorsports:
It is the responsibility of the overtaking driver, meaning the car that is attempting to execute the pass, to make sure that the pass is made cleanly and incident free.
If you don't agree with this rule or don't think it applies to you, this is not the league for you.
Rules contrary to the OLR:
Rules contrary to the OLR:
"PIT ROAD CLOSED"
This will be written into the chat box when the head of the room is
wanting to start the race. All participants are to not enter the tuning section of the lobby screen (the tach or the wrench) and to wait on track for the race to start. Entering either will result in a major penalty.
"HOUSE KEEPING" Things written after this in the chat box will be things pertinent to the race whether it's track boundaries/exceptions that have come up during the weeks practice. Watch for this as the stewards may be giving you a heads up of things they are watching for.
Pit road exit: you are to run out the entire marked exit while keeping 2 tires within the lines.
Cones: contrary to the SNAIL OLR killing cones will not result in a penalty."HOUSE KEEPING" Things written after this in the chat box will be things pertinent to the race whether it's track boundaries/exceptions that have come up during the weeks practice. Watch for this as the stewards may be giving you a heads up of things they are watching for.
Pit road exit: you are to run out the entire marked exit while keeping 2 tires within the lines.
To negate an out of bounds penalty you are required to execute a full and complete lift off the gas pedal at the safest possible moment. ("partial lifts" are not a proper demonstration of remorse)
Track concessions are a 50/50 chance of avoiding a penalty but will most certainly be taken into consideration when determining the severity of the penalty.
Pit Etiquette:
All known pit exits marked with solid or broken blend lines are to be run out completely. You are not to cross any pit lines on exit until they run out.
Incident Reports:
If, at anytime during race night, you feel you have been a victim of a race incident, please contact @Die_Birdy_Die, @racingchamp30, and the person who "caused" the incident as well, through the GTPlanet PM system.
We will look at the replay and take action we deem necessary.
