I consulted the available information and didn't see No 14 taken. I also considered a blue car, but saw the majority of them were blue already, so I went for the jade

If I got the number wrong then that's on me and I'll take the penalty. First driver who runs the number has it. So, without checking replays I'd say IllTrick is correct. I'll change his number to 14 on the official list and Rednose will need to pick a different number. Sorry for the confusion.
Part time help...

I drove my Grand Valley car tonight and only changed the final gear and fine tuned individual gear for Motegi.

Sorry for abruptly leaving after the race last night. It was a very frustrating final laps for me. After a decent qualifying time, I got a typical start and quickly went from 2nd to 4th behind the VW's. Then I misjudged braking into turn 7 and had to run off to avoid hitting @Scorpion0001. That sent me from 4th to 13th. I managed to move up to 4th, then to 2nd when @lllTrick and @Scorpion0001 pitted. I think I was the last to pit, after 15 (maybe 16) laps, as I was still running 2:00-2:01 on my SS worn down to 6's, but needed fuel. After pitting I fell back to 3rd and then moved back to 2nd after @lllTrick pitted for a second time. I was very slowly gaining on @Whitey093 and had cut his lead from 13 seconds at the pit stop to 10 with around 10 minutes to go.

Then I made my second error of the race. I drifted a bit wide on the "straight" between turns 11 and 12 and thought I may have gone out of bounds, so I lifted and that messed up my timing into the final section and I spun. I lost about 10 seconds, but I was still in 2nd. I totally lost my concentration at that point and went off 3 more times and dropped back to 4th. All told, I lost over 20 seconds in the final 4 laps of the race.

I had a ton of fun moving back through the field. I had some good racing with @Jakedog23, @thorracing and @Die_Birdy_Die along the way. The Z car is fast with little to no traffic, but it is not as good when you have to deal with different braking points that don't suit the Z. I was fortunate when I was moving through the field in this regard.

Again, sorry for leaving so quickly. It was fun for the first 40 minutes. Thanks for hosting @racingchamp30 and for putting all the work into this @Die_Birdy_Die and others.

No worries Coach I just figured you had to get up for work or something :) until I started hearing about the errors in the post race run down.

1 of the hardest things about GT1 is the concentration aspect. I got complacent with my mediums and final stint on softs looked at my LT's and went "hay I can do better than this" and started pushing my car.

Got to schmeds tail for the first time and spun in the breaking zone, 2nd time he tail wagged and I got him. Might have been able to make another position or 2 if I would have kept pushing hard through the entire race.

Yeah it was fun trying to keep you behind me in my slow RX-8:) I was very impressed with the race craft when we went three wide through the hairpin with no touch as far as my side was concerned.

Since i got booted, @Die_Birdy_Die do you still upload replays to the google doc so i can snag it to look at some incidents? If not can anyone else email to me? That would be great.

Yea, I have no idea how you made it through there! It was a smooth move.

Its ok coach dont beat yourself up, im sure plenty of people would trade with you for 4th. You definitely were on track to win though dont worry i took notice. When you cut my lead from 14 to 10 seconds and there were still over 10 min left i was resigned to the fact yiu were going to fly past me and there was no sense putting up a fight. But things happen and its hard to regain focus after an incident or 2.

Regarding the golfs, on one hand i feel bad because theres no way a golf is going to pass me on open track with my speed advantage on the straights. On the other hand, i qualify a second faster but by turn 1 im staring at their tail lights and they shoot out of the corners so fast i cant get past them. Its a track position battle in the end because neither of us can pass the other.

And to the others stuck in uncompetitive cars, you will get first pick of cars next season so the tables will turn. 2 races left, make the most with what you got and have fun. And while youre at it, get me a good tune to start with when i inherit the last picked car next season haha.

I never have unless someone ask for them

Well let's hope the cars will be closer for next season so everyone has a shot at winning. That would be exciting. All cars being capable of the podium at the end of the season.

Note: I only pitted once coach! Tomatoe, tomotoe in this case I know just sayin.

It was interesting how VW had the corner sprints vs the 370's straight line advantage. I wish I would have kept my 2 pit strategy though it was the better choice.

I'm mad at myself in losing it on that one corner and missing the battle for first place. I was so pumped for it. Cart before horse seems to fit nicely here I think. In the end though I think it would have been whitey FTW regardless. Still it would have been exciting to fight for it. :)

Oh i know @lllTrick if you hadnt spun i would probably still be stuck behind you today. You had the advantage in just the right spots and a perfectly defensive entry that i had no good way past. It probably would have been a shootout til the checker. Its amazing to me how well you have the obviously outpowered Golf competing, not just for good finishes but for wins. Youve been in the hunt for the win and on the podium every race and scorp has been right there too. I dont think thats a top 3 car so kudos to you both.

I assumed you pit twice, since you pitted pretty early in the cycle, but not as early as @Scorpion0001.

I went in at the 24 min mark. I decided last min to go with 1 pit. Because I had too much tire left with 2 pits and thought the 35 sec pit stop for the second time would be too long. I've learned now though that it's better to go hard and have a little extra grip left over till the end. Then to try and hold on for dear life on the last lap. But it could be different for every track. So many factors to consider and then the unknowns that always play their hand when you least expect it.

I wanted to line up every corner and try to power out of it just at the moment when you had to keep from bumping into me. That would have been optimal. I'm sure eventually you'd find the counter and I'd have to hope to counter your counter and so on and so on. Lol.
That's what I love though there is no "one way works for everything". There is always another way. There are always little mistakes happening or a new line being used at just the right time that can change everything up. I get super pumped when the chess game kicks into high gear ( haha punny) @ 125+ mph.

Love the chess game too. I thought for sure i lost the chess game to coach on pit strategy but got fortunate, the chess game with you directly was awesome and scorp was right behind me waiting for a mistake which kept me honest. There was a risk we all used our tires up having too much fun and an xrad or champ or kg short pits takes track position and wins too. My mind was racing the whole race and especially when i pulled a lead at the end my mind was figuring out all the ways i could blow it. I was at the edge of my couch squeezing the ds3 with a death grip. Great race!

If you watch the replay you can see my twichy steering inputs in the front tires. gt6 does a good job of filtering and smoothing it out, unlike pcars.
