As far as the on or off line times are concerned at Fuji F, the track you jump onto in your garage is 1.5 to 2 sec. faster then the same online track. But also, the "good" tire window in our league is very narrow this season. Use tires sparingly.

I like to use the garage track to tune the set up and compare it to my ghost. Once you have a fast lap you will have to work very hard to catch your ghost car, but it's a great way to see how you improve or drop back compared to the best lap time ghost. Also use it to practice passing yourself cleanly, LOL.

I'll look for an open lobby within the club this evening...otherwise I'll create one if others want to join. My goal is to spend maybe an hour tuning, then run the track for 50 minutes to figure out pit strategy.

Xrad, that's exactly what I was thinking of doing. It's the only way I know whether early vs late braking will save time, or if a tune is losing grip around a long sweeping corner. I used it a little bit with GT5 but gave up when my tunes didn't transfer over to the online lobbies. I'd have a car that was perfect, and then all of a sudden it was burning up tires and spinning out.

Jake hasn't sent me the invite as of this morning....he hasn't accepted my friend request yet...so I can't join you guys for drop-in practice.

Practice should be open lobby so you should be alright. Don't forget to add the flat floors and gt style rear wing

Traction Control usually just slows you down. It's a nice driver's aid for learning the ropes, but if you find yourself slow exiting corners compared to the drivers around you, that's the first thing you should turn off.

If you're having an issue with throttle control, start playing with the LSD settings. A good starting point for these cars is 10/20/20. As you raise the accel setting you will notice the outside tire break loose (go red) exiting the corner and the car will snap oversteer. As you decrease the accel setting you will notice the inside tire spins freely (may not go red) and the car understeers and doesn't accelerate very quickly out of the turn. Find the highest setting you can handle without ending up with oversteer. As you raise the decel setting, works similarly and can be used to tune initial turn in bite and lift off oversteer.

Practice Room open for an hour or so.

I can pretty much drive a 1:42 with any setup in this Mustang. I'm stumped. Putting more weight in the rear got me a few high 1:41s but the car burns through front tires within a few laps. I've got the turn-in I need, but once I'm on the throttle the front outside tire burns red. I can't tell what is causing it, or if it is even solvable. Last thing to mess with tonight is mixing up the dampers...but I honestly can't tell if there's too much weight up there or not enough, or if it's just sliding.

Your weight should be 50/50 or to the rear, I have my vantage at 45/55 at the last race my rears were cold down the straights.

41,42 put you in with most of the pack.

I pushed all the weight to the rear, that helped a little. It seems stupid you can't tune the car to turn without doing that, but alas, it's just a game.

So with some damper adjustments I was able to drop my time to a respectable low 1:41. Unfortunately pit strategy screwed me over again. I should have pushed another 2 laps on my original tires and ended up making a late race pit stop....and got stuck in the pits for what seemed to be an eternity. Oh well, live and learn. I had fun the first 20 minutes anyway.

I started with jump start penalty. And I got to use RMS for 9 complete laps. I WENT FOR A TWO STOPPER which was the wrong move. On the second stop I didn't see the pit options board.....so I was stuck with RH tires and a full tank of digital gas.

My driving suffered cause I was upset.....should have known better to watch my speed into pit.

My replay does not show compound change for the race for most people?......I thought that problem was solved in GT5......and also the replay recorder stopped early before race finish. I do have replays from 2 years back almost 2 hrs long......???
