Are points really that important

To answer your question from earlier KG. It's not the points or the racing or the tuning etc etc and so forth. It's all of it combined that I enjoy. I like competing I like the battles, the pressure that comes from it all and the thrill of everything potentially coming to a head. To then see who will prevail! I like racing in its entirety. So if I can make it work that I can be involved in as much of it as possible. I will do my best to do that. It's like anything that someone enjoys they simply don't want to miss out on the fun. at least this is how it is for me :)

I dont mind having one week in a season postponed but more than that would be interuptive i think. GT6 is on its last legs and i dont want to squander too many weeks or seasons before it ends. Who knows if we will ever have a game with the options and selection of gt6 ever again.

I don't get it birdie. You say its up to the league / players. If rednose can't make it and coach doesn't care either way. Then wouldn't my concerns be the consideration? why if no one else is concerned but me would I be ignored in my interests to push back one week? you said a few posts earlier that if no one is effected then you would push it back a week. Well, no one else is effected it seems.. So why would your previous offer now, be disregarded?

@CoachMK21
Because although @CoachMK21 claims to "not care" I know he would.

Of course I care, but it's not a big deal to me. I race for all the same reasons @lllTrick listed, but I'm also of the opinion that life can't revolve around a game. I'm going to miss other nights of racing this spring, summer and fall as the weather gets nice and I get to do this stuff for real. Therefore, it really won't bother me if the season is bumped back a week.

Coach, in an effort to move past this ambiguity. Could you state one way or the other if you are ok to move to next week as the start of the season. Or if you want to stay on this week as the official start of the season. You know my position and the others. And the ball is in your court as they say.
I hope you understand that I assumed because you said you don't care either way that I would obviously want to go with what would work best for me. However you clarifying here looks like it will sort things out.

Update: @CoachMK21 nevermind Tex has concluded the debate.

Step 1: Done
Step 2: Done
Step 3: I'll run the Ford GT500 ... no idea if it's good...but I'll give it a shot.
Step 3: Orange #77 unless there is an objection
Step 4: To confirm, that's 535hp Pro 1590kg, right? And how I get there is open?
Step 5: Gonna need some help on this. Any quick tips to get me in the right ballpark? How stiff should I go for these tires, etc. I'll be on tonight to play around.

4 that is the right BoP, and any way you deem fit including detuning to get more parts on. Don't forget your wing and flat floor.
5 Tonight is practice night at the usual snail time.

A few questions...which may be self explanitory after I do some practicing tonight...

How many times can I expect to have to pit for tires during the entire race with the settings chosen? I was reading the tire requirements and switching and I want to make sure I'm on the right strategy.

If I qualify on the softer compound but want to start with the harder compound, how does that work? Can I pit at the end of the qualifying session to switch over?

For what it's worth, I prefer that there be no change to the schedule.

My upcoming by-pass surgery will occur during Season 20. And I hope to get as many races in as possible.

You can expect 2 pit stops. You can start on hards and during qualifying pit to switch to mediums to get a good time, usually on the first lap. Then when the race starts, you will be on the tires you started qualifying with, so hards again.

Tonight we can give you insight into tuning and strategy

Well that settles that. Clearly it just wasn't in the cards.

If there is room for another, I would like to join.

Aston Martin DB9 Coupe '06 530hp Pro-am 1560kg

Step 1: Done. (3rd season in Spec series: D2, D3, D2.)
Step 2: Sent a Friend Request to @Jakedog23 on PSN and wait for an invite to the club.
Step 3: May I use Aston Martin DB9 Coupe '06? Only used it as a drift car before.
Step 3: #85 Mid green: Pealescent > Samba Green Pearl (or Light green: Pealescent > GT Japanese 007-W).
Step 4: Would I be or 530hp Pro-am 1560kg or 530hp Pro 1610kg?
Step 5: UK time. Think your test session ran last night already.

Likely to be a wildcard entry, if accepted, not a regular team mate.

step 3 EDIT never mind was thinking of the vantage

Fuji F, Single Race, 5 laps. 1:57s down to a 1:50 first race. Tweaked. 1:50s again but harder to drive. Tweaked again. 1:49s consistent if I hit my marks.

Online usually ~0.5s per minute slower than Single Player.
EDIT: Sports Hard tyres.

you racing tonight? It should be interesting

Ok, so I got a reasonable tune for the Mustang after some help last night. I spent my lunch break today fine tuning it a little bit more. I managed to log a few 2:09 lap times but mostly high 2:10 and mostly 2:11s. That's probably the best I'm going to be able to do. Then I switched on the RH tires just to make sure I was going to be able to run some laps on them. To my surprise the car is far more consistent and I was almost all 2:10s! The tires seem to be more forgiving and are going red much less, and the car is a dream to pitch into corners and power out. I switched back to RM tires just to confirm my suspicion and try some of the adjusted lines I was making with RH tires...but I couldn't improve my times.

If your faster on RH your just not using the car on RM to Its potential. It sounds like you just need to keep working at it watch others how they are taking corners braking using the throttle and it will slowly develop.
The mustang can be fast but remember it's a cobra if not contained properly it will bite you? And the poison effects can sap your confidence. Gotta pull out that little flute and learn to make to sway and dance !! It's possible

@chuyler1

Three practices races and third each time. Yet I have one of the slowest fast laps. Hum??? Try to be clean and consistent or lay it all on the line? From what I watched in our replays of practice, it seems " lay it on the line" is favored.

Good luck all you bad a$$es.

That's one thing great about a qualifiers. Solves a lot of these issues. Well that and on race day everyone takes from practice what it was meant for. Cleans up Their mistakes and races clean and consistent.

why does it feel like your post here was more spiteful sarchastic and bitter then helpful ? Hmmm

Hey good luck to your a$$ too though right. :/

I actually watched a bunch of your laps from the practices to see where I was losing speed. That helped me get those initial 1:09s but the car still doesn't like the uphill. The rear end kicks out at full throttle through Quarry Corner / turn 6 and it appears as though you don't lift until turn 9. I softened up the rear (down a few clicks on the sway bar and dropped the rear spring rate) and that gave me a little more stability, but too much of that causes tail whip on the downhill. Anyway, I'm just going to relax and run the car below its limit and do my best to stay off the walls.

Did you drop the torque a bit see if that helped control the wheel spin? Also lower torque and hp distribution so that less pwr to the wheels is being put down as you climb. Maybe set them low like 10 see how that feels. You could also short shift while climbing through the hills get into a lower gear not sure if that would work but worth a shot. With all that torque and hp it could help.

2.09's will be enough to hang near the front. Trick and schmed will drive away but what can you do, theyre fast. I hit 7's monday but was on the edge of control. Backed things down a notch and softened my dampers and raised ride height and now i have good control but am mid 8's. Its a trade off that will pay off if i can keep it clean and on the track. I think had i not made the adjustments i would have been in danger of making a race ending mistake. The start at bathurst is very dangerous with how tightly packed we will be barreling into turn one. The race could change in an instant in turn one from one mistake by one person.

A mistake like starting on completely the wrong family of tyres, for example? :dunce:

The car felt really good on SH at Fuji, fwiw. RH at Bathurst will probably be about the same grip.

I did play with torque a bit. I dumped the Supercharger and stuck with only performance mods that boosted max RPM. Short shifting doesn't help, actually makes it worse on the RM tires (works great on RH tires). With RM it's basically outside rear tire snap oversteer. It gives no hint that it's gonna go, and then bam I'm darting for the wall. If i get on early tonight I'll try a few more things, but I think I just need to settle in and get comfortable with the laps and lines the car will let me take right now...and for next week I'll get it a little faster.
