Well it was an exciting first round for me! Sorry this is late but I've been itching to find a chance to debrief. Almost didn't make it, silly me forgot you guys aren't daylight savings anymore so thought I still had another hour up my sleeve. Got there in the end, just with 5mins to go in qualifying so bit the bullet and started last just so I could be settled into the rig and ready for the race with just a couple sighting laps.
The race was interesting for my first 90min solo in a while now, was a lot of fun to have a proper endurance race solo with project cars being a lot more strategic than GT6 is.
Started off in last with a calm start to just try keep with the leading field, initially making up a few positions in the opening laps with some people making mistakes. Catching upto
@Zii1993 12 laps in, who was fairly even pace with me a large gap at first but something must've happened and was following him before another error going off a little wide, but he still hung right onto me until he pitted.
@JoeW was right on pace with me also so was hard to catch (and lose at the end), had you not pitted twice you probably would've been ahead till the end dude lol. Made a few mistakes towards the end, you making some huge ground on me at one point to 10 seconds but pulled a bit more again at the end.
Reaching 3rd after he first pitted quarter way,
@Fallen_log was a good 30 seconds ahead and even pace as well, unfortunately for you mate you had the issue with your wheel, sucks but I hope it's sorted now. Not sure what strategy you had for pits.
I pitted lap 30 with my tyres half worn left side. Rushing to get into the race I had no plan for a strategy so just winged a 1 stopper knowing I had fairly good tyre wear and could hold consistent pace through wear. The unknown for me was how much fuel to have not knowing how many laps the GT class would end up running in the end and not the total. I think I took maybe 30ish litres too much so that cost me a lot more time.
From there on I was trying to chase down
@TheFilapino but you were just so damn consistent and even pace with me as well, loving the competition. 30 seconds was a lot of time to try and pull lol, it was a little see-saw but a great victory in the end, congratulations. I got a lucky 2nd I think this time, I'm looking foward to everyone being a little more on the ball with strategy and consistency the next go round, will be close!
Having the 2 classes was a lot of fun, a couple awkward moments with the P2 field but no contact was made so all was well (a blind spot indicator would be nice lol), surprisingly only 5 laps ahead in the end. Well done
@DaBomb330 !
I'm sorry to see those who disconnected or had wheel issues, I know the feeling after a lot of prep and what not, I hope that can be the last for everyone! I'm glad to see points awarded for those who perished.
