Arghh... Holiday specials on TV. "Mom says I can stay up late and watch x-mas shows with you Dad." Hopefully there will still be room left around 9:00.

Woohooo!! What a great turn out. We had 5 teams of 3 out there tearing it up! Thanks a lot to everyone who made it. it was a blast. Seems a fair number of people are interested in a running series, so I will be start a separate thread. There we can work out the bugs and smooth out some of the bumps. I had a lot of fun and I appreciate you guys coming out!

Technical Director Ruling

After a brief discussion among the board of directors of SNAIL the following ruling is being made in the interest of being consistent when a given situation occurs.

As SNAIL has done in the past when a car is chosen that has "copies" that are identical in their specs including weight, horsepower, performance points, suspension settings, transmission settings and all other mechanical settings including aerodynamics, SNAIL will allow the variations of the GT-R NISMO GT3 Team RJN '13 listed below to be used for official races,

References to previous examples of this being done can be found here and here. i know on one of those links, you have to go down two posts to find the list of cars used that were identical.

GT-R NISMO GT3 Team RJN '13
GT-R NISMO GT3 Base Model '13
GT-R NISMO GT3 Schulze Motorsport '13

The GT-R NISMO '13 is not allowed as it has different mechanical settings from these three cars.

I forgot to tag @Rednose58 in the above post. Could you please update your combo chart with that information.

Cat and Mouse was beyond fun.

At some point we had 5 teams of 3. Totally awesome and feels like a stress reliever after the Sunday Intense Rush.

@Rallywagon
I think we are onto a good strong series.

  • Some recommendations discussed
  • Everyone should run the same Mice and Cat Car (everyone will have to buy 5 sets with different colors so that you can make up teams based on the 1 lap quali.
  • Regular Cats should be raised to about 500 PP and Wild Cat to 580-600ish.
  • See ya next Tuesday!!!!!

I just got offline from the cat and mouse fun tonight. Wow, pass the defibrillator. I was giggling like a little girl along with the rest of the goofs who almost filled the room. I can see this becoming a Tuesday night regular. I didn't have a f.... clue what I was doing at the start but, after getting the hang of smashing everyone in sight and getting my mouse to the end was tooooo much fun. Just the opposite of what Snail is all about. Nothing clean here. Makes the Dukes of Hazzard look like Barbie racing.

By the way, a pox on you guys who didn't give the GTA race on Sunday a fair chance. That combo was a lot of fun. Different, yes, and what's wrong wit dat? It was the first race I have been involved in where there was almost always someone to race with no matter what place you were in. You guys better hope I don't win,(not gonna happen), first place points. I would pick a go kart on the Daytona oval, just to urinate you guys off.

Be careful or I'll start moaning about controllers again, we don't want to go there.

Well, one more hit on the defibrillator and off to bed.

One recommendation that was mentioned for the wildcat, or super cat, is using Vision cars. Can modify them so they are a bit more even. Maybe take the Vision car off of RS though, as that was way overkill. RH for Vision wildcat? We could test it out.

1.15 adds = Infiniti and Chaparral VGTs and another car list sort option, By Mileage. Pretty sure the bulk of the download was the 2 new VGT movies.

I expect when the GT6 servers come back up later this morning, at least 2 new Seasonals will be added to allow folks a freebie VGT.

Who bets before the end of the day, 17DEC there is another mini patch for some reason or another? The Infiniti VGT had no sub-titles for us non Chinese fluent folks. The sort option showed all but the Honda Fit with 0 miles. Perhaps when the servers come back up it will re-synch and show the mileage somewhere in the accurate ballpark.

What will the rest of the VGT designers do now that Chaparral has set the bar for innovation, no matter how Sci-fi it may be, so high? GM Design still has a covered block in there as well.

I'm so glad the wife will be focused tomorrow night on watching one of her TV shows and I will have a few hours free to play with the new cars.

On another note, I ain't much a one for purples but, that Infiniti VGT Deep Purple is just damn sexy.

Weren't they adding seasonals for the holidays worth a lot more money? I'd think we'll see a couple special ones. Maybe another Sierra one?

Also, after playing C&M for the first time, I wish we had some people playing The Crew. C&M from one city to another would be an absolutely great time! Take whichever route you want, but there could be cats lurking!

As most of you know the unofficial Endurance Series that Many SNAILS participated in this year as come of age. It is now officialy the GTPlanet Endurance Series.

I drove in both the Le Mans 24 and the Nurburgring 6 Hours...and had the time of my life.
While doing this it occured to me ,that , here I was 100% disabled, 67 years old, at best an average driver, mixing it up with some of GTPs best long distance drivers. Well if I could do it, why not see if I could round up another Five or six SNAILs and field them as DART (Disabled American Racing Team). We currently have two of us entered: @Nail-27 and @euclid58.

I have filed a request for a franchise in the GTCup class for the 2015 season. All of the events will be made up of various combinations of various classes ( LMP, LMP P2, GT3, Gt Cup, and Touring Cars) and will roughly mirror the actual Endurance Series.

Here is my post from the GTP Endurance Series thread.....

On another related subject I am the manager of the Disabled American Racing Team [DART] . We are seeking qualified drivers who are:

100 % legally disabled ( Civilian)....
Or
50% or > Military Disability
Or
55 years of age or older and a Military Veteran (if we take Senior Drivers the Team Name will be DISABLED ANTIQUE RACING TEAM.)

Preferably drivers will have a Bronze Classificaton ( GTP Endurance Rating) or be a member in good standing of an existing GTP recognized sanctioning body such as SNAIL, WRS, FGTA,ETC.

Anyone who wants to race with us and who meets the criteria PM me. The first race is the Rolex 24 at Daytona in the beginning of Feb.

Cheers and Check 6
Ned
