8 or 9 on the F10. At 1:15 laps 8 is exactly 10 mins. Looks like many be lil lower then that and some over.

I'll go with 8 laps since the first lap is always a bit slower than the rest, and thus making the race longer than the 10-minute minimum. 👍

Anybody got the lap count (or even a lap time) for Round 1?

Yes!!!!!! I am in love! This is making me super geeked for gt6. I just finished up the second clubman race. The car really feels the way it should now. I agree that there is a framerate issue and a lot of popping and flicker especially in the back ground, but the graphics still look great and the physics in the game are spot on! the 370 felt really predictable if a bit heavy and under powered, as it does in the real world. the tire noise does a better job correlating to the grip of the tire (gonna need some headphones now). But most important to me, I am admittedly a middle class racer. When I can get in on a Sunday, I generally finish right in the middle in div3. But my bread and butter are the drift, touge and rally. And I think this time all three will be spot on. I drifted the last event, and it felt so right. In gt5, you have to saw at the wheel to really keep a drift going, but now, now it feels right. you countersteer right into it and you can now hold the angle of the wheel and properly control the car with throttle inputs. Wish I could do a little tuning on this nissan...

Edit: Ok, got all gold in the events, and put in a time of 2:24.675. Making me 2,892nd! Go me! LOL, Silverstone is a fun course! I'll get some more practice, I think I can get myself down into the top 1000 no problem.

I'm not going to be racing for a while guys. I will be focusing on GT Academy. This is going to be the first year that I can actually try to make it. So I'm going to have to give it my full concentration. Good luck with the racing for the next few weeks guys. 👍

Wild couple of weeks eh? I think it may get even wilder! Real life has been slammed on the rev limiter for several weeks now and it isn't going to lift for at least another month or two. Yee Haw baby!! At times it seems the only thing keeping me from vapor locking is the sanctuary of S.N.A.I.L. While we have our little squabbles from time to time, the action here is always puts a smile on my face.

The GranStand Challenge has come to the final hours!! Congratulations to all of the finalists. Good luck on Sunday! This "Challenge" is without a doubt the coolest thing that has ever happened within any club, league or any other organization that plays Gran Turismo. It really show the passion and dedication the League creators have for our little corner of GT Planet. From it's inception, there has been a huge amount of behind the scenes work done on the behalf of the SNAIL community and this prize. The idea to reward us. The negotiations with a real world vendor for an awesome product that any one of us would be stoked to own. The implementation of a point system to rate our drivers and the rules that went with it and what I think is a brilliant way to choose the winner. Who else would use Formula One fast lap times as a pair of dice? Come Sunday, some lucky dog is going to win a real prize. Thanks to all of you that put this together!


The Gran Turismo 6 demo, or better known as GT Academy 2013 has begun! The next few week will be very exciting. I think we have a few real contenders in our midst. It will be beyond amazing to have SNAIL represented at Silverstone! Even I have thought about how cool it would be to be "that guy" but in reality, even if I did have the skills to make it to the top, it is a young mans game. Besides, you never really want to hear a professional pit crew yelling "Fat Man Down" when the driver is just trying to tie his shoes and I don't think Geritol would be all that great of a sponsor. Again, the best of luck to those that have the gift and know that our entire community is behind you!! For the rest of us mere mortals, there are still bragging rights to be had. kcheeb has been at it again and has put together a quick and easy way for all of us to log and keep track of our GTA times. Pound out your best laps, fill out the form and leave the rest to the data gods! I am sure you all know by now but all of the lap times will be collected and stored for your viewing pleasure on The SNAIL Results Document!! Well dang guys. I had my fastest lap time on Silverstone just now only to have it ruined by the off-track penalty system in GTA. Atleast I know that I can gold the time trial.

I just got down to 2:22.3. hit my goal today of getting a ranking below 1000. back it to tomorrow at some point. I also missed a good 2:21 lap coming out of the last corner. Caught that damn solid red curb and it nudged me a touch to far over the opposite curb on the straight.
I'll update my record tomorrow with my current standing and whatever I manage tomorrow.
