I'm gonna say the Lotus. :) it's literally like driving a sprung go kart.

The Lotus does this funky slide thing with me. I think I'm down shifting too soon and the RPMs are still high so when I turn in it does this sorta power slide. Only problem is it kills momentum and in that car momentum is everything.

I'll practice some early Sunday and force myself to downshift later.

Maybe it's just me he does it to, but just be careful following Owens around. He's been know to drive people into pitwalls and dustbins on occasion. ;):sly:

Yeah, if you let off the gas on corner entry with the Lotus, you're gonna slide a bit like any MR car.

Its just another form of car control. don't know what there is to hate on. especially when you get a good tandem buddy. It's a fairly useful tool set to have under your belt too for those slipperier cars as well. helps a lot with controlling neutral steer. But to each there own. I like grip, but I do enjoy the lack of it as well.

Goat had suggested I play around a bit with drifting. While I am not good at drifting, I did learn enough to apply skills to keep myself on the track when the handling was getting sketchy. Not enough to win a prize, but I learned enough to be able to tell I was improving my driving skills, not just drifting skills.

Thanks again, Goat.

The S2000 has a ton more grip than the Lotus. I can get the Lotus to break loose anytime but the S2000 just plows almost as bad as the Altezza.

I am hoping the Tokyo reverse combo goes away completely as it is just a course that promotes under steer...oddly the regular direction is a great track.

The Lotus is a great car but the track is terrible...I was remembering the reverse track fondly when I thought this would be a good combo. Reverse flows a lot better.

So I am hoping to see 1 and 2 change up.

Hello everyone I am a GT5 player and I am requesting to join S.N.A.I.L Spec Racing, Thank you for the Time to read/reply to my message,

Hi TommyGunSks,

Thanks for your interest!
We would love to have you in the league. Here's what you need to know and do in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the S.N.A.I.L. OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You run the Time Trial. (NOTE: The tires selected for this have more grip than our current tire regulations allow, but please follow the directions exactly anyways).
2. You PM kcheeb with your time from the time trial (no Sunday racing until this is completed).
3. We assign you to the division that we feel will give you the closest competition. kcheeb will add you to the drivers list.
4. We send you a you a PSN friend request from the corresponding SNAIL_Division1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 account. That PSN account's lounge is where you will race on Sunday night.
5. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

The original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.

Please note that we often race DLC from three add-on packs:

Racing Car Pack
Course Pack
Twin Ring Motegi Pack

If you don't have these add-on packs, you will need to sit out the races in which they are used.

If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, post your choices in a visitors message here.
To avoid duplication, the currently claimed combinations can be found here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.

Welcome to S.N.A.I.L.

Discriminating? No. I don't hate you, I just hate drifting.

Aww man. I guess I know who Im not inviting to my drift parties then.

On a side note, I have a few ideas running around in my head and will share them with you guys later. I might be onto something for a small one-time event for either Mondays or Fridays. :sly:

I've always liked Madrid Reverse. It's like a whole different track, and one of the rare city tracks in the game I enjoy racing at. There's even a decent passing opportunity.

That said, I kinda like the weird feel of this combo. I hope I still feel that way after racing it.

ATTENTION SNAILS!!!
Due to post count restriction when posting on someones wall, my hand has been gently swayed to start work on an idea I had to streamline the color/number selection process. Starting now, you will be able to click a link, enter your choices in required fields, and you choices will automatically be added to the chart. the spreadsheet is currently in beta, but works well. I have a few functions to add, such as same number and color identifiers and the such. But now everything will far more up to date.

I ask that ALL PARTICIPANTS please go through and enter your data in this new form. This will give you the ability to edit your choice at a later date. If by the end of the weekend, you have not, then I will be entering the data, and you will be unable to edit your choices later on.

To enter your choices, please simply click on this link and follow the instructions.

Rally, say we don't remember when our first race was with SNAIL? :dopey: Where would one go to acquire that information? (Speaking all fancy like there 👍) :)

this would be something found in one of cheebs many data filled documents. Ill take a look for it and add it to the instuctions page.

Heres that link Its column T, SNAIL birth date.
And the instructions are updated as well.
Ohh, the data is rolling in!!! very nice! Thanks guys.

Nice work Rally!

I put the Camaro and one of my S2000 LM in "Share with friends" if you want to copy like Oshawa-Joe mentioned a page or two back.

It will not be in shared 100% of time, and definitely NOT on Sunday evening!

Seems you can share up to 6, so I threw a few others up as well.

If you put it up on share, there is a way for someone to get the car. search GT5 share glitch dupe.

I understand that it is a useful skill, but drifting, in and of itself, seems a pointless exercise. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's a lot of fun IRL, but I can't see the point in a video game.

I completely disagree. There is one turn on the forward version (the last chicane) that interrupts the flow. In the reverse version, the cloverleaf section is awkward at best. There are 3 turns in that section that ruin it for me.

Sorry, Rally - I didn't see the "Edit" link. Found the specific names of my colors and re-entered the data. Soooo, there are two listings in the chart.
Please delete the first entry with generic color specifications.

However, I'll only get to race it if it doesn't get voted off :ouch:

My brother's wedding is this Sunday, and it turns out that I won't be able to make it back in time for the racing. I should be back next week though!

My data has been entered! Nice work Rally 👍

no worries, I believe you simply reopen the form and it should bring up a copy of the one you filled out (cookie based, so it would have to be from the same computer as well) and there should be an edit button. I'll test this out and let you know, as well as delete the extra row.

I took a wild guess about the purpose of the final text box on the form. I think I got it right 👍

Agreed. Better too much grip than too little. This is not a drifting league.
Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen you get sideways intentionally.

No problem, I am not the fastest here but I'm glad I could help. :)
I love them :dopey::dopey::dopey:
Thank you so much goatie:tup:
I sent the S2000. Sending a level 21 ticket now. I'll see if I could send another later for flippin' ease.

Actually, the purpose of the final form is because, at least on my computer, the year of the date was being hidden under the submit button. adding that extra field fixed it, but I guess gave a great place of a bit of shenanigans as well.
