Schmigzz, I would like to direct your attention to some of our really great races in the PP Cap series lately. Using the same, or very similar, cars we have had some spectacular race long 20 min battles. I am placed in D1 (though I haven't been able to race on Sunday due to early start time) and we have some great races. So you have the speed. I think it's the atmosphere honestly.

I do better when the atmosphere is light and everyone is having fun (like PP Cap on Monday). And I think it is obvious that you perform better in similar conditions. Sunday SNAIL is a more stressful, serious atmosphere. The competition is no less fierce in all the SNAIL related series but the atmosphere of a series on race night speaks volumes about the mindset of the series in general.

Try frequenting some of the other SNAIL series more often. Drive the cars you enjoy driving against people that you know you can have fun with and get the inner joy back. Laugh a little :)

Then drive on Sundays when you can go in without putting the perceived pressure on yourself.

Dear fellow Snailers, Kcheeb and Zer05ive,

I want to publicly apologize for the unnecessary drama i brought into this thread that everybody fights to be as friendly as possible.
I could list a couple of theories into my defense but I really think the real reason behind complaining about combo choices or just the cars and even get so confrontational is the fact that i feel stagnated, passionless and tired of this competition.
I started my Snail life on D4 as a mild talented driver with a lot to learn and to improve. After a couple of weeks, the improvement on my driving was clear as water and that's when i started aiming for the next step... D3.
After lots of intense battles where I was able to push myself way beyond the limits I thought I had, I was finally presented with the goal I fought so hard for... D3. That was probably the pinnacle of happiness and self fulfillment I could ever take from snail spec racing.
After a couple of weeks racing with the best opponents I had so far, I kinda re-set myself to start the process all over again. Get confident with my skills, work hard to keep improving, get faster and more consistent and prepare myself for the next big step. D2. But this is where things started to get a little frustrating as month after month I kept failing that goal. Then, watching people coming from D4, spend 2 months on D3 and move straight up to D2 started feeling like a punch in the stomach as I seemed more and more unable to do it and as frustration kept building up the pleasure and fun was decreasing from week to week and for me, complicated combos felt like an extra brick in the wall of my incapacity to move forward.
So, as right now I'm feeling absolutely demotivated and hopeless, I think I'm more of a problem than a solution, therefore, it's the perfect timing for a break to try to reformulate the whole thing, to re-invent myself as a driver, looking for different experiences, different kind of races and diferent people.
Not a goodbye but a I see you soon.
I Love you guys.

Thank you for your apology 👍

I've been exactly where you are and it's frustrating as hell. Back in the good old days I was a solid D1 driver, plenty of podiums with Diabolic and Bowler ALWAYS in my way  Then we started attracting faster and faster drivers and I was dropped down to D2. That was cool, till the same thing started to happen. I was getting results further away from podiums, making way too many mistakes and not having fun. I asked myself how is it everyone else is getting so much faster and I'm getting slower??? It can't be!

Til I got really honest with myself. I looked at my own attitude come Sunday night, it was usually down, low expectations and a desire to be just about anywhere else. Not a great way to start the night off. Then I'd make a mistake or someone would make one for me and it would spiral, till near the end of the night I was just going through the motions.

Now I approach things differently, I measure my success based on how much fun I have on a Sunday. It does two things for me, first - relieves some of the pressure to perform, second - allows me to have fun. Don't mistake this attitude as one that doesn't want to win, I'm as competitive as anyone, it's just not the end of the world if I don't. And I usually have a great battle along the way 👍

With respect to improving, again, you need to be honest with yourself. Where am I weak, what mistakes do I make etc. Then learn how to do it correctly from a book or one of the awesome teachers we have in S.N.A.I.L. Then apply it to your racing. Pick one thing, study it, master it, and move on to the next thing. One thing I've noted about people that excel in whatever they do, they're very critical of themselves, they're able to identify their weaknesses, they're able to find out how to improve their weaknesses and they never stop the cycle.

See you soon 👍

Attention D4 Drivers that raced on September 22nd

CanuckleheadII is unable to make his pick for Prize B this week. As a result, the following drivers:

TEX-36
rallywgn81
Skills_19657
racingchamp30
ExoSphere64
ChuthuluGoat
GTP_pyxen

will have until 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time to provide S.N.A.I.L. with suggestions for replacing the:

Grand Touring Garage 1970 Ford Mustang Trans-Cammer @Grand Valley Speedway / Reverse combo.

For your suggestion please provide a Car AND a Track.

Once 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time rolls around, I'll compile the list of suggestions and put a Google doc form up so the rest of S.N.A.I.L. can choose one of your suggestions, a Car OR a Track.

The voting will close at Midnight Eastern Time at which point I will post the results. In the event of a tie, it will be broken by me.

I thought you were the official Ice Breaker.. not Tie breaker. :dopey:
But that works !

I thoroughly enjoyed it when we were running the Suzuki Cappuccino (EA21R) RM '95 at Madrid. Very close racing as I recall.
So, that is my suggestion as to Car and Track for the D-4 balloting.

Edit: Sorry, my bad

Record my Suggestion as Amuse Nismo 380RS Super Leggera or (the Trans Cammer on) High Speed Ring

Is the OCD changing this Wednesday or next?

Yeah, I was right there with you on that thought. Piety sure it changed week before last, so it could be changing this week.
Cheeb, can we get until tomorrow night?

Anyway, until a response, my choice is subaru cusco dunlop impreza @ daytona road course.

Sorry Rally, we need to complete the line up as soon as we can. Tomorrow night would open a can of worms if we ended up not picking one from it :scared:

Remember D4 drivers, you're not picking a whole new combo. Canucklehead won prize B.

The car you suggest would be raced at GV if it won, the Trans Cammer would be raced at the track you suggest if it won!

I stay steady with my choices. The fun of the trans cammer through the bus stop. That would make D1 happy. Timing and accuracy for sure.

Just wanted to put it out there i may or may not race again. Been having more fun not playing gt5 and my workload right now is pretty high so even if i were to return it wouldnt be until after gt6 drops and i doubt ill buy that. so adios guys. its been real. till next time

Yea! It's always fun racing a drag car on a super speedway. :-/

It's been real. I guess I may or may not say adios. ;-)

Good luck either way.
