Hey DrKronin,

We should be able to get you set up in time. Make sure you have the cars needed for tonight's races, listed in the line up post. Do at least an oil change on the cars, breaking them in is better if you have time. You'll be racing in the SNAIL_Division3 lounge tonight.

I'll add you to the drivers list, you'll be starting in Division 3. If you can't make it on a Sunday, please be sure to give us at least 24 hours notice by posting in this forum, it makes things much simpler for us, thanks.

PSN friend requests will be sent to you from SNAIL_Division1, SNAIL_Division2 and SNAIL_Division3. Their lounges are where we race Sunday night and hold our various events. Here's a breakdown of the ways we use the different lounges.

During the week we run a number of different events feel free to jump in and partake!

The original post also has a lot of information regarding the league, commit it to memory

Hey ck, sorry for the confusion. I did say you'd be in D2. I didn't make a note of it in the drivers list and I'm old Short term memory failure.

Race in D1 tonight, given the numbers it's better that you race there rather than dropping down.

sorry for short notice, but I will not be able to attend tonight's races. I am stuck, working in this bleeping gravel pit, on an emergency conveyor belt break. Had I been suspecting the job to occur, I would have given notice earlier. Being that it's only 2 hrs from start, I know I won't be home in time

I'm doing some last minute practicing for tonight, and I'm wondering, do you guys recommend ABS or not? And if we don't use ABS, are we allowed to change the Brake Balance settings either in the settings menu or during the race?

I would like to eventually ween myself off ABS but without changing the balance the RX-8 is quite a handful. For tonight I'll either have ABS-1, or ABS-0 with different brake balance, depending on what's allowed/recommended.

I use ABS set to 1 on all my cars. I find ABS 0 is almost impossible to control, constant lock ups,.

Brake balance is the only thing you can change on the car. I use a few different settings, usually biased toward the front.

*Disclaimer* #19 was NOT responsible for the tough blocks in the track! Just used as a reference driver! I think they were there even before the race started!!

What you can do to help minimize connection and lag issues​

1) Reboot your isp's modem/router prior to joining your SNAIL_DivisionX lounge.
2) Reboot your PS3 prior to joining your SNAIL_Division lounge.
3) Clear your GT5 in game System Cache prior to joining your SNAIL_Division lounge.

Step 1 is not usually necessary. I've found when my modem is on for long periods and not rebooted, I get connection issues in almost every game I play online. If you've experienced connection issues in the past, it's not going to hurt.

I just couldn't stay connected to the room. Every time, 30 seconds in, I get disconnected. So frustrating.

I would say I would get it sorted for next time, but I don't even know what the problem is. And this was supposed to be my first race with you guys.

Yes, several times. And I reset my router, quit the game, disconnected from PSN, etc.

The last time I tried just now I tried to watch the race and two of the cars were just sitting at the start line, then they disappeared and shortly afterwards I disconnected. This happened twice with the same two cars but I don't understand why as I cleared the cache and reset my router in between.

My NAT type was 2 when I checked before the race. I've had connection issues before but nothing this persistent.

This is depressing.

I'm not going to try connecting anymore tonight for fear of lagging the race. But I really need to get this figured out before next weekend.

Edit: It's DrKronin and bigbarnesbefast that I kept seeing stuck at the start. Maybe it's just them that I can't connect to. But either way, I've run out of things to try. I'm going to eat some icecream and cry about my unfulfilled dreams, or whatever people do.

That's too bad dylan, I feel for you.

Try joining in on some of the events during the week. It would also be good to try when DrKronin and bigbarnesbefast are in the rooms too.
