Tonight was a bad night for me. I was scrambling to set up my wheel at 9:50, and finally got in 2 minute into qualifying. There were a few good position battles with Ap, Rally, lead and the rest of D2, but I couldn't stay consistant enough.

Rally, the Detroit Region SCCA has 3 more events at the Pontiac Silverdome this season. Maybe us snails can try to attend those instead of putting on a private event. http://detroit-scca.org

That is what I was meaning. June 23 and 24 at the silverdome would work out great.

The 24 Hours of Nürburgring is this weekend (IRL).

Would anyone be interested in running a similar event, scaled down, of course, sometime over the next couple of weeks? I'm thinking of a running time around 1:45 or 2:00, trying to run a full day/night/day cycle during it, maybe even with potential for weather effects.

I'm not exactly certain which cars to run, but I was thinking of having everyone run something different, just to mix it up. PP would be limited to make things even, of course. I'm thinking around 550PP to be similar to the in-game Nürb24 cars. Tuning will probably be allowed.

I don't know when to run this, either, but as usual for me weekends are bad. I'm just probing for interest at this point.

Glad you would be interested. Unless a lot of people can do an afternoon, this will probably be in the evening.

I personally like the idea of running it after Wed. practice. Starting the qualifying around 10 EDT and finishing around 12 EDT. But other options are open.

I would be interested in this as long as I can use a DLC car. Actually, I would be interested anyway but would like the ability to use DLC.

I imagine any cars would be allowed. I'm really leaning toward allowing all tuning and will probably allow tuning cars, race cars, and track cars, as well. I might put a limit on how far you can limit your engine. Around 90%, likely, so that nobody's running the Zonda R or an LMP car or something.

We could then decide on the best picture and use it as the S.N.A.I.L. banner at the top of the original post for a while. Then we could have one of our many talented graphic artists add text that says something like, "S.N.A.I.L. honors Carroll Shelby 1923 -2012". Let me know what you guys think.

I'd be up for a memorial cruise and photo shoot. I'm going to be available tonight and Friday starting at 10pm EDT, and 11pm EDT, Tues. - Thurs.

I think this is a good idea, I'm down! I will keep this in mind when making my selection, if I remain a Prize A or B winner.

I like this idea too. I offer my services but I'm also happy to let the group decide on who they want to do the banner.

Agreed! But I would much rather run the Shelby GT350R ’65, but it's a standard car.

The 1st race when I was chasing you down, my heart was pounding, I couldn't seem to reel you in as quickly as I would have liked to and the laps were clicking away. After that race I noticed my pulse was racing, just like I was. lol

Please keep in mind that while we have general guidelines on how many positions get promoted and relegated from each division, nothing is ever guaranteed. Those guidelines will always be used if the league is static and there's not much movement within the league. However, as you guys know, this is hardly ever the case. There are constantly drivers who are missing races and then coming back, not to mention new drivers joining the league etc.

That being said, kcheeb and I have been trying to do something we call "division leveling". This is where we try to anticipate how many drivers will be racing on Sunday night so that we try to provide each division with an equally sized grid. As you can see from last night's results, we did a pretty good job of that this time around.

The moral of the story is, don't ever assume you know which division you will be in on any given Sunday night. You need to look for kcheeb's Saturday night post to know for sure. It'll look something like this.

I've also gotten in the habit of letting the new people and the ones that are on the move know which division they'll be racing in. But please don't rely on that, as zer0 said checking the Drivers List is your best bet.

I will not be able to race this Sunday night the 20th. I have a two day show on the dirt. Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. I can guarantee that I will not feel like sitting in a race seat for two more hours after that even if I did make it home and get everything unloaded in time.

DLC & Naruto​

I talked with Naruto the other day regarding the S.N.A.I.L. & DLC. He understand that the S.N.A.I.L. group wants to use DLC and therefore is not opposed to the DLC track being used. Naruto did tell me that he is not able to get the DLC because money really is that tight right now. Once I heard that, I informed him that there are a couple of members of the group who have offered to get DLC tracks for the S.N.A.I.L. member who are not able to get it, for whatever reason (I assume due to money issues). At this point I asked him if I should put this name on this list (wherever it is - here in the forums I guess), and he would like to accept this offer from the group, IF that help is still on the table. If not, no biggie, he understand and he is not worried about it.

A big thanks to Exo for posting these pictures from last week's races, but was only from one of our three divisions. I would really love to see pictures from all three divisions posted on this thread so that everyone else can get a feel for the races in the other divisions.

I talked with Naruto the other day regarding the S.N.A.I.L. & DLC. He understand that the S.N.A.I.L. group wants to use DLC and therefore is not opposed to the DLC track being used. Naruto did tell me that he is not able to get the DLC because money really is that tight right now. Once I heard that, I informed him that there are a couple of members of the group who have offered to get DLC tracks for the S.N.A.I.L. member who are not able to get it, for whatever reason (I assume due to money issues). At this point I asked him if I should put this name on this list (wherever it is - here in the forums I guess), and he would like to accept this offer from the group, IF that help is still on the table. If not, no biggie, he understand and he is not worried about it.
