This is awesome! I'm sure having all the data together will help @GamingPete with the banners. Thank you for all your efforts in collecting and calculating the info needed. đź‘Ť

I promise to have a Lineup Coordinator entry in the $hell database soon. In the meantime, I've added your chart to the lineup post as a placeholder until the banners are ready. :)

Two things...

Firstly, Im going to miss another Sunday as my trip has been extended into next week... But things are going well here in Victorville.

Second, as some of you I'm sure saw me mention over the weekend, I'm a big Vettel/RBR fan, so I just couldn't pass this up with him moving on... It just came in the mail today. :)

Dangit! I was gonna join the practice room but wasn't sure if it was tonight since I knew the practices changed awhile back.
So, it is tonight, get in there and tear it up!

Runways..that reminds me...

Modern sports car racing is the direct descendant of Sunday afternoon SCCA races at many active USAF Base Runways in the early 50s. This was a direct result of its support by one of the most unlikely people you can imagine.

Can you identify this guy.... he was instrumental in the early termination of the War in Pacific....and wanted to Nuke the Russians in Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

He...was also a sports car owner and enthusiast (he owned an Allard J2); He loaned out facilities of SAC bases for use by the Sports Car Club of America,[50] as the era of early street races began to die out. He was awarded the Woolf Barnato Award, SCCA's highest award, for contributions to the Club, in 1954.[50] In November 2006, it was announced that he would be one of the inductees into the SCCA Hall of Fame in 2007.[50]

And he was one mean SOB.....

Edit: Curtis LeMay, Commander of the Strategic Air Command and then Chief of Staff USAF. Avid sports car nut and part time amateur racer....some say the "Rich Uncle" of sports car racing.

You got it! It's kind of sad though, all the base housing was too expensive to demolish, so they just put up chain link fence covered with black tarps to hide it, but you can still see the structures rotting and collapsing through a few gaps.

The city of victorville took ownership of the base land and turned it into a logistics airport. Our stuff ended up here bc the city made some sort of deal with GE to build us our 747 hangar and offices in exchange for a boatload of annual tax revenue. We used to run flight tests out of Mojave and Edwards AFB.

They also do some commercial AC maintenance work here now too. I actually got my first in-person Dreamliner sighting there this week, right next door to our hangar... Too bad it's powered by rolls engines and not some of our GEnx's haha:

Would like to race with you guys. Been a GT fan since the original. Prefer racing unmodified/stock.

@handcuff

Here's your official S.N.A.I.L. Welcome Post!

Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the S.N.A.I.L. OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You take the S.N.A.I.L. OLR and Racecraft Test

2. You run the Time Trial and submit your information by 23:59 EST on Saturday night if you want to race this Sunday.

3. @JLBowler PM's you with your assigned Division that we feel will give you the closest competition. You will be added to the drivers list.

4. Send a PSN friend request to the Race Director or Primary Host from your assigned SNAIL Division. Sunday night you will need to sort the online lobbies by friends and join the lobby named 'snailracing.org Division_(x) based off your Division placement from JLBowler. That lobby will be where you race Sunday.

5. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below. Now if you've actually read this, post a :dunce: in this thread.

6. You drive fast and clean on Sunday đź‘Ť

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.
If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to S.N.A.I.L.

My buddy from my Army days is a project manager for Boeing and ran a team working on some such portion of the 787. He got to post up a lot of really cool pics and videos throughout the build process and testing.

My father is a design engineer for Honeywell. I've got to see all the building and testing of all the guidance system in the boeing. It was very interesting to say the least.

For the Red practice room on Thursday nights, i would like to host the practice room starting next Thursday night if no one else takes up the hosting position.

@Rednose58 i really like what you came up with there,
maybe we can find a way to combine it into the banners somehow?

Awesome banners! The lineup post has been updated!

@Falango - Congrats on the banner photo triple crown! :)

Here is an idea: Is there a technical guy that can make it into an animated gif file and then set it to alternate from one to the other every 3-5 seconds or so....?
I made a gif of @GamingPete's banners once, but even on the slowest setting, they flipped way too fast. There's probably an easey way to make it flip much slower though.

EDIT: Looks like MajorBlixem already figured that out đź‘Ť

If they could flip on a 30 second or more timer it would probably be better. Thinking the static images are more than sufficient though.

As a web site page banner that would be way cool though. Maybe even ask @Jordan for some GTPlanet placement on occasion?

I can make the banners flip even slower if needed

EDIT.. I agree with Dragon.... don't think we need the gif. The banners look good by themselves.

Here's another thing to think about with animated gifs. It's been my experience with the gif thread, the more gifs there are on a single page the longer the page takes to load. On my phone I stay away from that gif thread completely. Not like it's a completely crappy phone either. Samsung S4.

The talent level in this league continues to astound me.
