a friend of mine ran into Phil Mickelson at a coffee shop this morning in town. Apparently a real humble friendly guy

It was painful to see him come so close to winning the Open.
Really wanted him to pull it off, but he ran into the one guy who was playing better that day.
Best final round Phil has ever played in a major, but still wasn't enough.
That tee shot Stenson hit on 18 was soooooo close to going in the bunker. Soooooo close.
I thought that was gonna be what gave Phil the chance to tie it up, or take the win.
They both played some amazing golf.

I met him at a conference he co-sponsored for teacher education about 10 years ago. Both he and his wife came across as sincere, absolutely wonderful people. Phil, and one other guy I met... I swear, I could see them in 10+ years, and they would both remember me. His focus on the hole is second to his focus on people.

its always nice to hear positive encounters like that

The window for suggestions has closed.

@Ness you are now on the clock to choose one of these suggestions. You have until 11:59 AM ET on Thursday to make your pick. If you haven't made a pick by then, it will open up to voting by everyone that raced on Sunday night. I know it's a shorter window but we need to be done with the selection process by the time practice starts.

D1. Please send the Peugot to Autodromo Nazionale Monza

@JLBowler

Suggestion: Fuji Speedway F

My track suggestion for the Peugeot is biased towards good track which is also a controller friendly option. There's quite a small number of tracks which will allow us to stretch the legs of this beast without running into the ds3 turning problem in high speed constant radius turns. From those that are suitable I think Monza would be the best option and, as @Rednose58 has already suggested it, my suggestion as an alternative is:

Autodromo Nazionale Monza '80s

Track suggestion Circuit De Spa-Francorchamps

@JLBowler @Ness

D1 track suggestion - Suzuka circuit 2014

Track suggestion Twin ring motegi road course
@Ness

On a side note, we won the 9 hole scramble with a score of 30 for 6 under par. If I would have played my own ball for the whole 9, I'm guessing I would have shot 37 or 38. A good day for me.

Prize B selection

We are sending to Italy the Peugeot 908 HDi

The Track will be:

Autodromo Nazionale Monza

Can't wait to see 16 matchbox cars roar around Monaco tonight. Be sure to get there early guys, last few Thursdays have been completely full.

I'm all for the idea of having 2 segregated lobbies if were overflowing. I know in the past you guys had multiple prac lobbies for separate divisions but as membership dropped you consolidated it down to 1. I feel bad for the late comers that can't join because it's full, perhaps with a couple slots being used by non-members. As much as I enjoy racing in a full lobby, racing with 8 others in or around your division is a closer replication of the Sunday night experience imo. And then as the night goes on and people start dropping, narrowing it down to 1 lobby makes sense. Just my 2c. See you guys tonight :cheers:

My two cents as well... I like a larger room because if you fall off the main pack there's a higher chance of having someone to race with. And racing just one other person is more fun than being by yourself a few seconds back just doing hot laps.

Like I said, if it's overflowing. If there's 18 total people wanting to practice tonight, I don't see how 2 lobbies with 16/2 makes more sense than 9/9

Great idea- I was thinking the same. We have had 16 for at least 2 or 3 weeks now. Perhaps it's time to split into 2 rooms. Last weeks "practice" was a nightmare. Good race craft should not be abandoned just because its practice.
